'Power Rangers Beast Morphers' Season 2 Announced

In 2020, Power Rangers Beast Morphers returns for a second season!

But contrary to what past years’ trends have left fans expecting, next year’s team won’t be Super Beast Morphers. Or Beast Super Morphers. The show’s 2020 season will officially be known simply as the second season of Power Rangers Beast Morphers, or Power Rangers Beast Morphers. Or if you're in the U.K., Power Rangers Beast Morphers series two. Whatever takes your fancy.

Power Rangers Beast Morphers Season 2 will feature the return of Doctor K from Power Rangers RPM, as well as a dino-themed team-up starring Austin St. John, the original Red Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. Select heroes from Power Rangers Dino Charge including Brennan Mejia (Tyler the Dino Charge Red Ranger), Yoshi Sudarso (Koda the Dino Charge Blue Ranger), and Davi Santos (Ivan the Dino Charge Gold Ranger) will also return for the dino-themed teamup.

The season will also introduce Beast-X Mode, a brand new armored power-up donned by the Red, Blue, and Yellow Ranger. With these new powers in hand, the Beast Morphers team will be charged with taking on Robo Blaze, a brand new villain coming in 2020. Who is Robo Blaze, and how is he different from the villain the Rangers defeated in the first season? Fans will have to find out when the show premieres in 2020.

Power Rangers Beast Morphers Season 2 will also introduce new Zords, new Megazord combinations, and new high-tech weapons.

The season (the 27th season overall) will include 22 brand new episodes, including two holiday themed specials set to air around Halloween and the Christmas holidays.

Each episode will air on Nickelodeon USA at 8 a.m. ET/PT, beginning in early 2020. The season will then last the duration of the year, with an annual summer hiatus set to cover the length of the summer. PRBM season two is also expected to air on Nickelodeon in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Greece, and POP in the U.K.

Power Rangers Beast Morphers will have 44 episodes in its entirety, and air on Nickelodeon from 2019-2020.

Fans can check out the official Power Rangers Beast Morphers synopsis below.

"Set in the future, a secret agency combines a newly discovered substance called “Morph-X” with animal DNA to create the Power Rangers Beast Morphers team. The Rangers must fight off an evil sentient computer virus bent on taking over the source of all Ranger power, the Morphin Grid itself. Featuring never-before-seen leather suits and an all-new beast-themed arsenal (including dynamic new Zords), fans should get ready for a season full of secret ops and morphinominal fun."

Power Rangers Beast Morphers stars Rorrie Travis as Devon the Red Ranger, Jasmeet Baduwalia as Ravi the Blue Ranger, Jackie Scislowski as Zoey the Yellow Ranger, Abraham Rodriguez as Nate, Colby Strong as Blaze, Liana Ramirez as Roxy, Kristina Ho as Betty, and Cosme Flores as Ben.

The 2020 title was confirmed by the season’s first toys shared by Power Ranger Talk.

Fans can watch brand-new episodes of Power Rangers Beast Morphers season one (the 26th season overall in the long-running Power Rangers franchise) Saturdays at 8:00 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nick USA.

From ComicBook:

Power Rangers Beast Morphers' Liana Ramirez Talks Emotional Last Day on Set

Power Rangers Beast Morphers season 1 is in full swing, but while fans are getting brand new episodes from the first season the cast of the Beast Morphers has actually already finished filming. That's not just season 1 we're talking about mind you, but season 2 as well, and they've already started taking on other projects now that their time in New Zealand is done. We've seen glimpses of the wrap party Hasbro held for the cast as the show came to a close, and we recently had a chance to talk to Beast Morphers' very own Liana Ramirez all about the emotional process of getting through the last day on set, and while there are plenty of tears, they were happy ones.

"Well, I have a cast photo in my room that I, whenever I went back to the US, our producers from New Zealand sent to us as like as a wrap gift," Ramirez said. "And I remember that day, it was my official last day on set, and we were trying so hard to hold it together because we took that picture around lunchtime and we still had a few hours left on set."

"And we were just trying to not cry and smile for the camera, even though we were all like having so many bittersweet feelings of, 'Oh, we don't want to leave. We don't want to leave this. But wow, we've created something incredible together.' And it's one of those things that it's going to have a special amazing place in our heart forever. Yeah, there were a lot of happy tears that day," Ramirez said.

"Happy tears because we know this adventure is ending, but it was the most amazing adventure of our lives," Ramirez said. "But there's going to be more amazing adventures in the future, and we're super thankful for that and the opportunities that Rangers will give us as actors in the future. We were all super, super excited about that."

The good news is that while they are in fact done filming, fans of the show have plenty of time left to enjoy the cast, as Beast Morphers still has another full season to get through and we're not even done with this one yet.

"Absolutely. It's wild," Ramirez said. "We're going to be on your screens for like a year and a half left. That's crazy. It's weird to think that we're going to be filming other projects here soon and then like, we're going just going to be on TV at the same time. That's a really cool concept, so cool."

Beast Morphers stars Rorrie D. Travis (Devon/Red), Jacqueline Scislowski (Zoey/Yellow), Jasmeet Baduwalia (Ravi/Blue), Abraham Rodriguez (Nate), Liana Ramirez (Roxy), Colby Strong (Blaze), Cosme Flores (Ben), Kristina Ho (Betty), Kevin Copeland (Mayor Daniels), and James Gordon (Handyman), and you can check out the official description for Power Rangers Beast Morphers below.

'Power Rangers' Reboot Movie in the Works at Paramount and Hasbro

Hollywood is about to say “It’s Morphin Time” once again!

Paramount Pictures is developing a new Power Rangers reboot film! Jonathan Entwistle, known as a director and executive producer on Netflix’s popular The End of the F***ing World, is in early negotiations to direct.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, which first reported the news, the new film’s story line aims to bring the franchise to its roots, and will involve a time-travel element that brings the kids to the 1990s, and in Back to the Future fashion, they have to find a way to get back to their present. Patrick Burleigh, who wrote the upcoming Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway, is penning the script. Hasbro, which acquired Haim Saban’s flagship Saban’s Power Rangers property and other entertainment brands in 2018, is producing the feature via its film arm, Allspark Pictures. This will be the first Power Rangers film produced by Hasbro. Paramount and Hasbro, Inc. struck a deal in 2017 to produce and distribute content based on Hasbro brands, as well as original stories.

Studio Lionsgate produced and released a feature from Dean Israelite in 2017 that rebooted the title, making it less kid-friendly and giving it a more brooding YA edge. The movie grossed $142.3 million worldwide - $85.36m of which came domestically - on a reported $105 million budget, much less than was anticipated, causing Lionsgate to scrap plans for a series of Power Rangers movies as a result. It isn't known what the advertising budget was for the film. Power Rangers did end up doing fairly strong business in both home video and merchandise sales, however. That film, starring Naomi Scott, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Banks, RJ Cycler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, and Dacre Montgomery, earned mixed reviews from critics. Israelite recently directed and executive produced Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark? revival miniseries. The stars of the 2017 movie hinted at the reboot during a Reddit AMA earlier this year.

"I think there is a movie in the works but it's not with me and the cast," Stranger Things star Montgomery - Jason the Red Ranger in the movie - said when asked if another Power Rangers flick was on the way. "So yes, but not with us."

When the news broke, that film's Black Ranger Ludi Lin is thrilled about the news. "Amazing news! Another chance to embrace a DIVERSE TEAM of HEROES! I’m a fan!," Lin wrote on Twitter.

On the surface, Entwistle is an outside-the-box choice for the shiny franchise as his Netflix show is dark and envelope-pushing, about the opposite of what you can get for a Hasbro property. The show, a dark comedy that he directed and exec produced and that debuted its second season in November, told of the growing friendship between a teenage boy who believes he is a sociopath and is looking for a person to kill and a girl who persuades him to ditch their homes for a road trip.

Entwistle is currently in post-production on I’m Not Okay With This, another Netflix show he co-created, exec produced and directed. Also teenage-centric, Not Okay focuses on a girl dealing with high school life, her budding sexuality and superpowers.

But the director, repped by CAA and Grandview, has shown he has a grasp on the voice of the younger generation, which execs hope will translate into something unique and appealing onscreen.

This iteration of the Power Rangers franchise will be just another notch on the belt of movies produced with Hasbro and Paramount. The two companies have recently relaunched the Transformers franchise with Bumblebee and are currently working on Snake Eyes and Micronauts.

Despite being under Hasbro for just a short time, Brian Golden — chief executive for the toymaker — explained earlier this year he was pleased with the toyline's performance in the marketplace.

"Sure. Well, the launch of POWER RANGERS is starting in North America," Goldner said. "The line launch there. We had some products ship in Q1, but limited. It will roll out in the subsequent quarters, both in North America and around the world. I'm very pleased with the ratings of the new show. It's a ratings leader in its time slot. It's offering a very strong lead out. And Nickelodeon's been a very good partner and helping us to market the new series. The team has done a great job in producing this transition from Saban to our own studio has been seamless, and I give the team a lot of credit for producing such a high quality show that's really beloved by kids and improved in a number of ways from the last production. So we're, obviously, very excited about POWER RANGERS, not only for this year, 9 months, but for 2020 as we'll have a full year impact. So very good there."

The Power Rangers franchise kicked off in 1993 as a television series based on the Japanese Super Sentai franchise. Though there have been a number of iterations since its debut, the Power Rangers has rarely strayed from the original premise: a group of teenage friends who could transform into monster-fighting superheroes. The franchise has also gave fans three feature films: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie in 1995, Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie in 1997, and Power Rangers in 2017. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is among TV’s longest-running kids’ live-action series with almost 900 episodes to date in several incarnations. The show first aired on Fox Kids, then in the 2000s on Disney-owned channels. A movie also hit theaters in 1995. The long-running Power Rangers TV franchise aired its 26th season — Beast Morphers — this year on Nickelodeon, with season 27 (a second season of Beast Morphers) set to premiere on the network in 2020.

Keep in mind that the plot for this new Power Rangers movie could change down the line. It’s still early into the creative process, and since Paramount hasn’t set a release date yet, there’s plenty of time for Patrick Burleigh to change the narrative or Jonathan Entwistle to add his own tweaks. Still, with time travel having been a well that the Power Rangers have utilized numerous times, this would be a unique way for this next movie to stand out from its predecessor.

The cast of the 2017 film has since gone on to do other projects, both in TV and movies. RJ Cyler has been involved in several projects, including Scream and Black Lightning, while Dacre Montgomery has hit it big in Stranger Things.

Naomi Scott played Jasmine as part of Disney's Aladdin and was also featured in Charlie's Angels, while Lin played Murk in DC's billion-dollar Aquaman and is poised to be featured in the upcoming Mortal Kombat film.

As for Becky G, she's been lighting up the music scene with a slew of hit singles and her recent album Mala Santa and shows no signs of slowing down.

Power Rangers starred Dacre Montgomery (Jason/Red Ranger), Becky G (Trini/Yellow), RJ Cyler (Billy/Blue), Ludi Lin (Zack/Black Ranger), and Naomi Scott (Kimberly/Pink Ranger), as well as Bryan Cranston (Zordon), Elizabeth Banks (Rita Repulsa) and Bill Hader (Alpha 5).

The Idaho Steelheads and St. Luke's to Host Nickelodeon Night Featuring SpongeBob SquarePants on Saturday, December 14

BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Steelheads and St. Luke's are hosting an "Under the Sea" event for their second Nickelodeon Night on Saturday, December 14!

The game against the Fort Wayne Komets will feature special jerseys worn by the players.

This year’s Nickelodeon Night jerseys feature the main character of the series, SpongeBob SquarePants, ready to rock in a character-themed design. The Steelheads will offer a silent auction in the breezeway connecting CenturyLink Arena to The Grove Hotel on Saturday night, and fans can bid until the start of the third period.

Winners will get both the game-worn jersey and the opportunity to get their jersey from that specific player. The jerseys will be worn only on Saturday but will be featured throughout the weekend.

Proceeds from the auction benefit St. Luke’s Children’s. Last season in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) auction, the Steelheads raised over $14,000 in donations in support of pediatric injury prevention.

Since the Steelheads and St. Luke’s began partnering in community initiatives, the Steelheads have helped raise nearly $500,000 toward St. Luke’s initiatives.

The Steelheads will also host the Project Filter Post-Game Autograph Session, where fans can line up and get signatures from all Steelheads players on the ice immediately following the game on Saturday.

Puck drops at 7:10 p.m. Friday and Saturday to finish the Komet, Steelhead home series. Tickets are available by calling 208-331-TIXS(8497) or going to idahosteelheads.com.

This is the second jersey auction and post-game autograph session of the season after the first Batman Night on November 30. The weekend also features the final $2 Beer Wednesday of the 2019 calendar year as well as a 4 for $50 Family Friday.

The Steelheads open their franchise series against the Fort Wayne Komets on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7:10 p.m. from CenturyLink Arena. Call the Steelheads Front Office at 208-383-0080 to plan your seats for this season, including single-game, flex plans and season tickets. Stay connected to the Steelheads on idahosteelheads.com or by following the team on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The Fort Wayne Komets will also be hosting a Nickelodeon Night featuring PAW Patrol on Saturday, December 21st, 2019!

SpongeBob SquarePants, which was recently greenlit for a 13th season, has reigned as the number-one kids’ animated series on TV for the last 17 years, while generating a universe of beloved characters, pop culture catchphrases and memes, theatrical releases, consumer products, a Tony award-winning Broadway musical which is now touring North America and a global fan base. SpongeBob SquarePants is seen in more than 208 countries and territories, translated in 55+ languages, and averages more than 100 million total viewers every quarter. SpongeBob SquarePants is created by Stephen Hillenburg and produced by Nickelodeon in Burbank, Calif.

Nickelodeon's is currently in the midst of the network's "Best Year Ever", a year-long global celebration of one of the most iconic TV series and characters ever created. The “Best Year Ever” launched with the premiere of “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout,” an original mixed live-action and animated special earlier this summer, and leads up to the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies theatrical, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, coming May 2020.

A CG-animated prequel spin-off series, Kamp Koral, following 10-year-old SpongeBob SquarePants during his summer at sleepaway camp, is also slated to premiere during Summer 2020.

THQ Nordic and Nickelodeon are slated to release SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated, a remake of the much-loved video game, very soon.
