The Complete Katara Timeline | Channel Frederator

"Today on Channel Frederator, we’re going to try something a little bit different. Rather than taking a broad look at an entire series, we’re going to take a deep dive into one particular character, and for that, we have chosen Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender. That out of the way, I’m Jeremy and this is the complete timeline of Katara."

Nick News Brief: Nickelodeon is reportedly still looking to open a Nickelodeon Hotel in Garden Grove in Orange County, California! The project is said to be currently going through the environmental review process. Fairly OddParents: Lesli Margherita to Play Judy Stoneface in Paramount Plus' Upcoming Live-Action Revival

Broadway actor Lesli Margherita (Matilda, Who's Holiday) has revealed on a recent episode of The Art of Kindness podcast that she'll be playing a new character named Judy Stoneface in Paramount+'s upcoming live-action revival of Nickelodeon's beloved animated series, The Fairly OddParents!

During the interview, which you can listen to below, Lesli confirms that the new series will blend animation and live-action. "There are aspects of the animation that are happening in the live-action as well,” says the actor. “It's a hybrid." Touted as a live-action reboot, it seems that the titular OddParents will remain animated. It remains to be seen if other characters will be animated as well.

Combining live-action and animation, the 13-episode first season of The Fairly OddParents will pick up years after the original series ended and follow Timmy Turner’s cousin, Vivian “Viv” Turner, and her new stepbrother, Roy Ragland, as they navigate life in Dimmsdale with the help of their fairy godparents, Wanda and Cosmo. Production on the series commenced in Los Angeles earlier this summer. The series is produced by Nickelodeon Studios and Paramount+. and is slated to poof onto the streaming service in March 2022!

“During its run, The Fairly OddParents granted an endless amount of imagination to viewers, where no wish was too big or too small,” said Zack Olin, Co-Head of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Live-Action. “We are so excited to build upon the ‘Fairly Odd’ universe with this totally unique experience that the new show’s incredibly talented creative team has cooked up for a new generation of kids on Paramount+.”

In The Fairly OddParents, Ty Turner uproots his life to reunite with his high school sweetheart, Rachel Ragland, in the town of Dimmsdale, thrusting his cautious 13-year-old daughter, Viv, into a new world where she does not fit in. Once there, her cousin, Timmy, entrusts his fairy godparents, Wanda and Cosmo, to help her adjust by taking her under their wings. Witnessing the fairy transfer take place, Viv’s new stepbrother, Roy, also inherits them and the two siblings must come together to overcome the obstacles in their path, all with the help from their new wand-wielding and wish-granting fairy godparents.

Stepping into the world of Dimmsdale is Audrey Grace Marshall (The Flight Attendant) as Vivian “Viv” Turner; Tyler Wladis (Single Parents) as Roy Ragland; Laura Bell Bundy (Perfect Harmony) as Roy’s mom, Rachel Ragland; Ryan-James Hatanaka (Nancy Drew) as Viv’s dad, Ty Turner; and Imogen Cohen as their friend, Zina Zacarias.  Original voice cast members Susanne Blakeslee and Daran Norris return to voice the iconic fairy godparents, Wanda and Cosmo, respectively.

Nickelodeon’s beloved animated The Fairly OddParents series, which ran from 2001-2017 with 172 episodes, followed the magical adventures of 10-year-old Timmy Turner and his well-meaning fairy godparents who grant him wishes. During its run, The Fairly OddParents became one of Nickelodeon’s most beloved properties from both fans and critics alike, having won and been nominated for dozens of awards. The Fairly OddParents was created by Butch Hartman.

The new The Fairly OddParents series for Paramount+ is produced by Nickelodeon Studios. The series is executive produced by Christopher J. Nowak (Danger Force, Henry Danger, Sam & Cat), who also serves as showrunner, and Samantha Martin (Henry Danger The Musical). Butch Hartman (The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom, T.U.F.F. Puppy) and Fred Seibert (The Fairly OddParents, Adventure Time, Castlevania) serve as producers. The pilot is directed and executive produced by Mike Caron (Danger Force, Side Hustle, Henry Danger).

Production of the new The Fairly OddParents series for Nickelodeon Studios is overseen by Zack Olin and Shauna Phelan, Co-Heads of Nickelodeon & Awesomeness Live-Action. Omar Camacho serves as Nickelodeon’s Executive in Charge of Production for the series.

How Uncle Iroh Could Have Been Completely Different In 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'

Avatar: The Last Airbender bid Nickelodeon viewers farewell in July of 2008 after just three seasons, but its legacy endures all these years later. Created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the series became a hit shortly after its 2005 debut, and any number of factors can take responsibility for its resounding success. Perhaps the smooth animation style and creative aesthetic drew viewers in, or maybe the talented voice cast and unique story worked in tandem to keep fans coming back for more. Of course, there's also a case to be made for the very existence of Uncle Iroh alone.

A former figurehead of the Fire Nation and uncle to the hot-tempered Prince Zuko (Dante Basco), Iroh became a fan-favorite in short order. For much of his run on the program, he's laid-back, wise, and often humorous, making him the perfect foil to the impulsive, inexperienced, vengeful Zuko. When he wasn't advising his nephew during their quest to capture Aang (Zach Tyler Eisen), he happily warmed up a pot of tea and sat down for a round of Pai Sho. The late Mako and his successor, Greg Baldwin, always brought their A-game when recording his dialog and made us all forget that Iroh was just a cartoon character.

Iroh is so beloved because he presents himself as a loving, easy-going old man who simply wants the best for his family and all of those he encounters. However, did you know that he almost adopted a very different personality?

Though he continually presents himself as a calm, happy pacifist, once upon a time, Uncle Iroh lived a much different life. When Zuko was merely a child, Iroh commanded great armies of the Fire Nation and was even next in line to the throne once his father, Lord Azulon (Walter Edmiston), passed away. He rarely brings up his past in Avatar: The Last Airbender, but had the original plans for the character made it to the small screen, his military background and the cold demeanor it created would have been front-and-center well into his retirement years.

"I think we had more of a harsh character idea for him. More of a strict kind of kung-fu sifu guy," revealed Bryan Konietzko in a 2008 interview with Toon Zone News, giving head writer Aaron Ehasz and Mako credit for reshaping Iroh into the character we know him as today. "He used to be that really hardcore general and military guy, and now he's sort of in his golden years...I think that Aaron wrote really well for Iroh. And with Mako, you know, it just made him such a lovable character."

With his brother, Fire Lord Ozai (Mark Hamill), Princess Azula (Grey Griffin), and, of course, Zuko, all defined by their stern, angry personalities, making Uncle Iroh the total opposite of his family was certainly the right move. It allowed him to not only turn his nephew away from the generation curses that befell his relatives but become one of the most popular characters ever to appear on Avatar: The Last Airbender.
