'Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl' Cover Leak Reveals New Fighters

The upcoming Nickelodeon brawler Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl just can't seem to keep the lid on the pot of Gak when it comes to upcoming reveals. In addition to the initial box art seemingly spoiling several unrevealed characters and a possible release date leak, it would seem that further key art for the title has confirmed several characters for the new video game. While it was recently officially revealed that CatDog and April O'Neil would be in the video game, the leak of what appears to be the full box art for the title includes four further as-of-yet unrevealed characters.

Specifically, the new leak indicates that Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender and Korra from The Legend of Korra will both feature alongside Ren and Stimpy from, well, The Ren and Stimpy Show. Previously revealed fighters already include characters from the likes of SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hey Arnold!, Invader Zim, Danny Phantom, The Loud House, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Rugrats, and more. Even with that, there is honestly no shortage of properties to pull from still, and that's not counting possible additions from already present properties.

You can check out the leaked art featuring Aang, Korra, Ren, and Stimpy for yourself below:

Previously silhouetted in shadow, the new box art (shared on Twitter and GameXplain) shows all of the currently announced characters plus the leaked four.

This brings All-Star Brawl’s more-or-less confirmed roster up to 20 fighters. Here’s the full list at this point:

  • Oblina (Aaahh!!! Real Monsters)
  • CatDog (CatDog)
  • Danny Phantom (Danny Phantom)
  • Helga Pataki (Hey Arnold!)
  • Zim (Invader Zim)
  • Lincoln Loud (The Loud House)
  • Lucy Loud (The Loud House)
  • Reptar (Rugrats)
  • SpongeBob SquarePants (SpongeBob SquarePants)
  • Patrick Star (SpongeBob SquarePants)
  • Sandy Cheeks (SpongeBob SquarePants)
  • Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
  • Michelangelo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
  • April O’Neil (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
  • Nigel Thornberry (The Wild Thornberrys)
  • Ren (The Ren & Stimpy Show)
  • Stimpy (The Ren & Stimpy Show)
  • Powdered Toast Man (The Ren & Stimpy Show)
  • Aang (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
  • Korra (The Legend of Korra)

As noted above, Aang, Korra, Ren, and Stimpy have not yet been officially revealed as of yet to be part of the roster, but it certainly seems to be only a matter of time at this point as the official release date also needs announcing still. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is, as of right now, set to release for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch in Fall 2021. It seems likely that even more fighters beyond the currently confirmed and leaked will join the roster prior to it officially releasing. You can check out all of NickALive!'s previous coverage of the upcoming Nickelodeon-branded right here.

While developer Ludosity has said All-Star Brawl will have its own identity as a fighting game, it’s also up front about drawing inspiration from Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series. While 1999’s Smash Bros. 64 launched with a modest cast of 12 crossover characters, the rosters have ballooned ever since. Hopefully All-Star Brawl takes a few more pages out of Nintendo’s book and will introduce hidden unlockable characters, as well as additional ones through DLC. After all, if Kenan Thompson, Amanda Bynes and the Dancing Lobsters won't feature in the main game, they could be be assist trophies.

What do you think about the recent Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl leaks? Are you hoping for any particular Nickelodeon characters to be announced for the title? Let me know in the comments!

SpongeBob's Attack Move Set in 'Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl' Revealed

Nicktoon icons are gearing up to slug it out soon in the upcoming platform fighter, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. The likes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Leonardo and Nigel Thornberry from The Wild Thornberrys will be able to hop in the ring with characters like Invader Zim and CatDog in an all out battle to the finish.

We have been seeing a steady stream of reveals and information divulged about the game over the past few weeks, and now we've gotten a closer look at how fans will actually be playing it. The official Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Twitter account has released SpongeBob SquarePants' full move list.

From what we can see here, All-Star Brawl's controls breakdown into three different attack buttons. You have light attack, strong attack, and special attack as the foundation of everything you do on offense.

We also see similar inputs to the Super Smash Bros. series — a franchise that this game takes inspiration from. Neutral or single directional inputs in conjunction with an attack fires off a move, and some moves are done while running or in the air.

For Mr. SquarePants, we see several attacks that are direct references to various episodes, memes and things he does in the show. Down and strong attack unleashes the "Imagination Clap," a maneuver where SpongeBob creates a rainbow over the top of his head — something you have likely seen online at one point or another due to its meme status.

SpongeBob also has the ability to blow bubbles, use his jellyfish net, and karate chop his foes with his large karate gloves.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is due out on October 5, 2021. In the meantime, be sure to look over SpongeBob's full move set: Horizontal Punch, Up Kick, Floor Sweep, Side Kick, Up Kick (II), Down Swing, Spin Attack, Jellyfish Swing, Kah-Rah-Tay Uppercut, Imaginaaation Clap, Aerial Jellyfish Swing, Kah-Rah-Tay Uppercut (II), Imaginaaation Kick, Running Slip, Bubble Blow, Order Up, Chomp.

'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Live-Action Star Channels Aang In New Photo

Gordon Cormier, star of Netflix's upcoming live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series, shared a picture showing his Aang moves. This update of the original Nickelodeon animated series, which ran from 2005 to 2008, will begin filming in November. In addition to Cormier as Aang, the series will star Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, and Dallas Liu as Zuko. There have also been rumors swirling that Avatar is casting a live-action Azula.

Image: ScreenRant.

Gordon Cormier, who has previously been seen in the 2020 Stephen King miniseries adaptation The Stand, will have a lot on his plate taking the lead in this series. The Airbender Aang, who has just been released from being frozen in ice for 100 years, is the Avatar, a reincarnated being who has the power to control all four elements: earth, water, fire, and air. He will train in the different forms of "bending," each based on a different martial arts style throughout the series. The 11-year-old actor might be taking on a big challenge, but he's preparing for the role in style.

On his Instagram, Gordon Cormier shared a photo of him dressed as Aang, striking a martial artist pose with the caption "The past can be a great teacher!!" It can't be confirmed if Cormier is wearing his costume from the upcoming series. Even if he is in costume, it's certainly not the finished look, considering that Cormier has confirmed that he will be shaving his head for the Avatar role. For now, he's tucked his hair underneath a hat to simulate the effect. Nevertheless, it's an exciting glimpse into how the character may eventually look. Check out the post below:

Cormier's caption is from season 3, episode 13 of the animated Avatar: The Last Airbender, "The Firebending Masters." Although it is indeed a profound quote, in the original episode, it's immediately followed by Aang accidentally walking over a spike trap and exclaiming, "I think the past is trying to kill me!" This small moment exemplifies both the profundity and the humor of the original show, and hopefully, this new series will attempt to match that perfect blend.

Given how unofficial this image likely is, it gives an insight into how excited the Avatar: The Last Airbender cast is to be bringing the property to life. It seems like Cormier couldn't help himself trying out his Aang look early, and just last month, his costar Dallas Liu was gushing about being cast as Zuko. If everyone involved is as enthusiastic as these two, there's a strong chance that the new series will treat the original cartoon with the respect and energy it deserves.
