This group of friends from London have all attended an Irish Dance school for the past five years. They are used to disciplined dancing with regimented routines, where their arms have to be kept straight by their sides. Jordan and Perri have made it their mission to get the group to adopt a more street-dance attitude, with flexible routines and moves where they can actually use their arms! Girl Band Stooshe pop along to rehearsals to give the group some last minute “street-style” advice before their performance, and the group even re-pay the favour by giving Stooshe their own Irish Dancing lesson!

None of The Irish Dancers have tried street dance before, so Jordan and Perri will have to work hard to get the group to break through their strict Irish dancing mind set.

The Blackpool Bunch

The seven cheeky members of The Blackpool Bunch have attended the Urban Dance Project school in the heart of Blackpool for the past two years. This group of energetic kids have never performed together before, let alone performed before an audience – a double-whammy of a challenge for Jordan and Perri. Concentration and timings are key to their routine, so difficult are the tricks with which the group have been tasked. Jordan and Perri will have to work hard to ensure the team perform as one tight-knit unit. Olympic bronze gymnast Beth Tweedle is on helping hand to give the group some top tips on how to keep their nerves at bay when performing under pressure. The kids even get a chance to show-off their gymnastic skills to Beth, with the ever-competitive Jordan and Perri challenging Beth to a handstand competition.

The Break Dancers

From a sleepy-village in the Welsh Valleys, The Break Dancers is a group of five young boys who have formed their own crew called the Vortex Breakdancers. The group was formed to keep them out of mischief in their otherwise quiet, small town near Newport. The group has a real family-like bond, especially as they are unofficially managed by one of the group member’s brothers. According to the boys, nothing ever happens in their village and so they couldn’t have been more excited to be surprised by Jordan and Perri. Finally, a chance to spice things up! A special guest shows up to give the group some last minute teaching – Diversity’s very own crew leader, Ashley Banjo - but only after the boys put Ashley through his paces with a quick game of rugby. Luckily, The Break Dancers already have street dance experience, but working with Jordan and Perri means they can try to perfect their “resurrection” dance moves, improve their flips and spins, and most importantly perfect their kick-butt attitude.

MEET JORDAN BANJO

Born: 31st December 1992

"Dancing has always been a part of my life for as long as I can remember - from being a baby in my mum's lessons, to being taught by my older brother, and now, to selling out arenas on our own tours.”

MEET PERRI LUC KIELY

Born: 15th December 1995

"It all began when my mum asked me to go shopping with her - and saying 'yes' was the best decision of my life! Little did I know that Diversity was performing there that day. I became an instant fan and from then on all I wanted to do was dance, so I joined the Dancework family. After a year I was a solid member of the group. My favourite dance styles are New Style and Breaking, but everyone knows me as the kid with the hair who flips and gets thrown around - but I love that too!

"The past four years of my life have been the greatest and I have enjoyed every moment of it. The Diversity boys are my biggest inspiration."
