Nickelodeon Turkey (Türkiye) will premiere Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library, a new original TV movie based on author Chris Grabenstein’s acclaimed children’s book of the same name, on Sunday 12th November 2017 at 09:10. Nickelodeon stars Casey Simpson (Nicky, Ricky, Dicky ve Dawn) and Breanna Yde (Nickelodeon’s School of Rock/Müzik Okulu) join Russell Roberts (The Twilight Saga: New Moon) and newcomers AJ Rivera and Klarke Pipkin in the fantastical adventure about a group of friends whose overnight stay in their town’s new high-tech library turns into a daring, dangerous adventure of escape. The book, originally published in 2013 by Random House Children’s Books, boasts a 109-week run on the New York Times Best-Seller list. In Turkey, the movie is locally titled Bay Lemoncello'nun Kütüphanesi'nden Kaçış, and the book the film is based on is locally titled Bay Lemoncello’nun Kütüphanesinden Kaçış.

World-renowned gamemaker Luigi Lemoncello (Russell Roberts) has built his latest creation--a new state-of-the-art library filled with whimsical and eccentric rooms, where hardcover books fly kids to shelves in the sky, and massive doors open into fantastical worlds. Kyle Keeley, Lemoncello’s biggest fan, is chosen to be one of the first to experience the fun, along with his best friend Akimi, a bookworm named Sierra (Klarke Pipkin), a goofball named Andrew Peckleman (A.J. Voice Cast Of Nickelodeon's New Preschool Series "Butterbean's Cafe" Announced

New York City based audio facility Dubway Studios has announced the exciting news that prominent actors Nancy Giles (The Jim Gaffigan Show, The Electric Company, Superheroes, Law & Order) and Alysia Reiner (Orange Is the New Black, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, 30 Rock, The Sopranos) will be voicing characters in Nickelodeon's upcoming brand-new animated preschool series Butterbean's Cafe!


Butterbean's Cafe is about a fairy who runs a neighborhood cafe with her friends. The series will feature creative cooking, a farm-to-table philosophy and a social-emotional curriculum that focuses on leadership skills. Created by Jonny Belt and Robert Scull, the creators of Bubble Guppies, the series is produced by Brown Bag Films (Peter Rabbit) in Ireland. On the series, Cathi Turow (Sesame Street) serves as Headwriter, Mark Salisbury (The Naked Brothers Band) series as Supervising director, Laura Kleinbaum (Staff Writer at Nick Jr.) serves as Staff Writer, Rosie duPont serves as Script Assistant. All of the voice over is being recorded in New York City at Dubway Studios (Wallykazam!), who commenced production on the series in April 2016. Butterbean's Cafe is slated to debut in 2018 as part of Nickelodeon's 2017-2018 programming season.


Additionally, Athan Sporek (Les Misérables and A Bronx Tale on Broadway), Kirrilee Berger (stage productions of Billy Elliot and Mary Poppins, Dora The Explorer, Hall Stars, Nickelodeon Pilot Storyforia), Melissa Van Der Schyff (Sunny Day, Wallykazam!, The Thing About Babies, Jillian Holtzman in Ghostbusters (2016) LEGO Dimensions), and Aiden Reid Medina (Team Umizoomi, Dora the Explorer, Myth of Robo Wonder Kid, Bubble Guppies, Dora and Friends: Into the City!, Blaze and the Monster Machines) will also be lending their voices to Butterbean's Cafe!

Kirrilee will voice Poppy, Melissa will voice Miss Honeybook, and Aiden will voice Reuben (recurring character), Kid 2 and Brookie Kid 1.

Melissa Van Der Schyff will also be voicing series regulars KC and Cindy in Nickelodeon's upcoming animated preschool series Sunny Day.

Four Butterbean's Cafe episode titles have also been revealed: "Reuben's Pizza Party", "Cricket Boss", "Jasper Petsitting", and
"A Bean for Halloween"!

Update (11/7): Since the post was originally published, a few more details about Nickelodeon's upcoming animated preschool series has been revealed:

- Broadway star Gabriella Pizzolo, and clients of Stephanie Artuso, who runs the commercial department at Shirley Grant Management, will also be lending their voices to Butterbean's Cafe;

- White Lake Music / Voice Coaches is currently producing Voice Over for Nickelodeon Network's Butterbean’s Cafe;

- Jake Bolles serves as a Editing Engineer on the new series, and provides Dialogue Recording services for the show;

- The Butterbean’s Cafe theme song has been written by multi-platinum songwriter Jeannie Lurie (School of Rock);

- Michael Kaufman (Bubble Guppies) serves as the Line Producer for Butterbean's Café;

- The SquarePeg Group are also involved in the production of Butterbean's Café.

JoJo Siwa Talks 'Lip Sync Battle Shorties', 'Blurt' And More At Nickelodeon HALO Awards 2017

JoJo Siwa showed up to the Nickelodeon HALO Awards 2017 Orange Carpet on Saturday, November 4th in New York City in a fully bedazzled outfit and ready to chat with International Business Times about her upcoming Nickelodeon projects, and her time on Dance Moms.

While the Dance Moms alum is grateful for her time on the show, she’s very excited about the new projects she’s been working on at Nickelodeon.

She’s currently part of the networks competition series, Lip Sync Battle Shorties, where everyday kids participate in a lip-synching competition. Siwa provides commentary, while Nick Cannon hosts.

To date, the Lip Sync Battle spin-off series has only had one episode, a Halloween special, but there’s a holiday special coming up in December and then the real show premieres in 2018.

“The show is so amazing,” Siwa said of the competition series. “I heard it did really, really well and blew everyone’s expectations away, so thank you to the fans for that. But, seriously, it’s just such an amazing show and I love it so much.”

While she didn’t want to “spoil too much” about the upcoming special, she said that “if you’ve seen the Halloween special, just expect it like that, but a lot better.”

Besides her commentating-duties, the 14-year-old will also be acting in a new Nickelodeon TV movie called Blurt, which is set to premiere in February 2018.

“I’m so excited for Blurt. It’s going to be amazing,” she said. “I starred in it with Jace Norman and Daniella Perkins and basically, I am Jace Norman’s little sister and it was just so fun to film up in Canada. It was amazing and it was just a good time hanging out with everyone.”

Look out for Lip Sync Battle Shorties holiday special airing on Sunday, December 3 at 7 p.m. EST/PST on Nickelodeon USA!

In speaking about how Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burke succeeded Abby Lee Miller as the coach on Lifetime’s Dance Moms towards the end of the Season 7, which ended on Oct. 24, Siwa said she thinks Burke “was really good” and “amazing” on the Lifetime series.

Siwa left Dance Moms after two years when a “big opportunity” that she couldn’t turn down presented itself, though she said she still watched the show after she left because she loves it “so much.”

“It is basically what got me started,”JoJo told IBT. “It is my platform. So, this show, honestly, gave me so much that I am so thankful for.”

She’s so thankful that she still has all the best wishes for the show and still likes to keep tabs on how it’s doing and what its future looks like. She even made a cameo on the Season 7 finale.

“I heard the show did really good this season, so hopefully they’ll be back for next season,” JoJo said.

In addition to her overall talent agreement with Nickelodeon, JoJo also has a global consumer products program with the number-one entertainment brand for kids.

Viacom Unveils Findings From Global Study 'Kid Power' And A Deepdive Into Kids In The Philippines

VIACOM UNVEILS FINDINGS FROM GLOBAL STUDY “KID POWER” AND A DEEPDIVE INTO KIDS IN THE PHILIPPINES


Study shows how kids exert a powerful influence on household purchasing decisions and how Filipino kids differ from the rest of the world



MANILA – 7 NOVEMBER, 2017 – Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) announced a new global study “Kid Power”, at the Nickelodeon Upfront in the Philippines today. The research explores kids around the world and the powerful influence they exert within their households, and further delves into how Filipino kids differ from the rest of the world. Spanning 30 countries, 4,900 kids aged six to 11, and 4,100 of their parents, the study shows the dynamics between kids and parents around brand choices and decision making.

Christian Kurz, Senior Vice President of Global Consumer Insights at Viacom, said, “There is a different undercurrent in families today and the changing relationship means that parents and kids are now working as teams. Subsequently, this translates to how kids exert surprising influence when it comes to brand choices and decision-making in a home, and our research shows the depth of this influence.”

Kid Power revealed the following insights:

Today, everyone pitches in to keep family households running – including kids! Nearly seven in 10 parents globally say their kids help at home, and this figure is higher in the Philippines where 80% of kids help out at home. According to Pinoy parents, kids’ most common tasks are cooking/shopping/cleaning (53%) and childcare (44%).

Extended family ties matter - help also comes from outside the home. A feature of family households in 2017 is how much help flows into and out of the household. For many, help comes from family members who do not live with them (55% Global, 65% PH). And kids play a key role in these households – they are doing their bit at home, are the beneficiaries of help with childcare from grandparents, but they’re also helping relatives outside of their home! More than half (56%) of Filipino kids render help to family members outside the home, a 26% increase from the global average. Strong help in the Pinoy household may also be due to how the family unit tends to be multi-generational, with 41 percent living in the same house as grandparents (13% Global).

Kids around the world increasingly describe themselves as curious. Kids are changing too. They are more likely to describe themselves as “curious” (89% Global, 92% PH). They have more access to information from online, from friends, from TV—all which provides them with more knowledge.

In addition, their access to internet-enabled technology feeds their curiosity and they have with more devices at their disposal for playing games, communication and finding out information. The percentage of kids 9-11 (Global vs PH) who personally own or regularly use these devices:

  • Smartphone: 72% vs 88%
  • Tablet: 72% vs 84%
  • Smart TV: 50% vs 42%

Most kids are involved in household purchases – and their leverage increases at age 10. Globally, about three-quarters of kids and parents agree that kids have a role in buying things for the household (74% kids, 77% parents). This trend is also seen in the Philippines where kids and parents are in exact agreement (70%) that they play a vital role in the purchase decisions in the home. Starting at age 10, kids’ opinions hold more sway.

Both genders have similar powers of persuasion in the Philippines. Parents take boys’ and girls’ preferences into account across many areas: clothing/shoe purchases (84% boys, 90% girls), music to play (74% boys, 78% girls), tablet purchases (55% boys, 62% girls), and new cars (27% boys, 20% girls).

Kids with the most influence: single children, two full-time working parents, in urban areas. The power of kids fitting these descriptions will likely increase because global trends are on their side: families are getting smaller, dual-earner couples are on the rise, and the experience of childhood is increasingly urban.

Categories that kids influence the most: entertainment, groceries, restaurants, electronics. Virtually all kids play a role in decision-making processes at home (98% Global, 97% PH) and parents greatly value their children’s opinions. The largest percentages of kids say they influence decisions around entertainment (97% Global and PH), food/groceries (94% Global, 97% PH), restaurants (84% Global, 89% PH), electronics (82% Global, 85% PH), vacation (76% Global, 72% PH), and telecom/pay TV/SVOD (52% Global, 58% PH).

In the Philippines, the specific areas where their input is most powerful are toys (96%), movies at home (93%), snacks (92%), clothes (87%), watching television shows together (85%), and going to fast food or self-service restaurants together (84%).

However, one thing hasn’t changed and that ultimately, the parent is still the boss, anywhere in the world! No matter how much influence kids have, they acknowledge that the parent is the boss of their household (72% Global, 63% PH); and parents of kids (76% Global, 62% PH) say that they or their partner is the boss of their household.

What brands should know about the sum total of the power of kids. With family households becoming more closely connected to each other, and kids participating in decisions, there are new opportunities for brands to engage everyone in the household. Brands should recognise that families are democracies, not dictatorships and that households function with the support of everyone.

The only kids’ show celebrating Australia and New Zealand’s best athletes and epic sports moments, Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports Awards builds upon a long-standing history of celebrating the sports and athletes kids love, giving kids the power to choose the biggest sports stars to win awards from eleven uniquely unconventional categories.


FOX SPORTS Presenter Tara Rushton is expanding her hosting repertoire as she is joined by Channel Nine’s Australian Ninja Warrior, Jack Wilson as the studio hosts for Australia and New Zealand’s first ever Kids’ Choice Sports.

Ben Cox, General Manager and Vice President of Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand welcomes the partnership and the extended reach of the programme. “Nickelodeon has always had a strong connection to sports, and no one loves sports more than Aussie and Kiwi families. Tara and Jack coming on board as hosts combined with the simultaneous premiere on FOX SPORTS highlights the family co-viewing that sports offers.”

Kids have until Sunday, 12 November to cast unlimited votes in the eleven uniquely unconventional categories including #Hero, Hands of Gold, Sickest Moves and Clutch Player, among others at nick.com.au/kcs. After voting, it’s game on with sports-themed short-form videos and games for kids to check out online and on the Nick Play app.

Battle Evil and Save the Realm with Adventure, Role-Playing Game based on Original Animated Urban Fantasy Series



TORONTO, Canada – Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana announced today the launch of an adventure, role-playing, gaming app based on its original, hit animated action series, Mysticons. “Secrets of Gemina” is now available to download for free through the App Store and Google Play on iPhone, iPad and Android devices.


The app allows players to guide the Mysticons – Arkayna, Em, Zarya and Piper – through a mesmerizing and engaging fantasy world as the fearless foursome take on a heroic quest to defeat evil and protect the realm. The app features a parallel storyline to the events in season one, as well as opportunities to level up characters, explore familiar locales from the series, and win battles to collect epic loot for in-game powerups, equipment upgrades, and action skills.

The Mysticons toy line, by Playmates, and trading cards, by Topps, will add to the app playing experience, containing scannable codes that allow players to unlock special items within the game. Both Mysticons toys and trading cards will be available soon.


Mysticons tells the epic tale of four unexpected heroes who transform into legendary warriors and undertake a mythic quest to save the world. The series premiered in August on Nickelodeon in the U.S. and on Corus’ YTV and Teletoon in Canada and is currently the #1 animated series this fall* on YTV. The series has also surpassed 3 million views on its short form content on YouTube. Mysticons airs Sundays at 11 a.m. ET/PT on YTV.
