Nickelodeon Launches 'Story Time with Josh & Blue' Podcast

Nickelodeon has today (Tuesday, August 4) announced the launch of Story Time with Josh & Blue, a brand new podcast based on Nickelodeon's top-rated preschool series, Blue’s Clues & You!

In Story Time with Josh & Blue - the Blue's Clues & You! podcast, listeners are invited skidoo with Josh and Blue into storybooks where sleepy-time adventures await. The original podcast series (10 episodes) is narrated by Blue’s Clues & You! host Josh Dela Cruz.

The synopsis of Story Time with Josh & Blue reads: "You're just in time; Josh is about to read Blue a story! Listeners will skidoo with Blue and Josh into storybooks where silly sleepy-time adventures await. Josh narrates each of the ten episodes, bringing various characters to life and getting closer and closer to the main event: a snuggly, restful snooze for Blue in this official Blue's Clues & You! podcast."

At launch, there are two episodes of Story Time with Josh & Blue for fans to listen to - "The Pirate Panda’s Sleepy Treasure Hunt" and "No Sleep in Sillytown" - as well as a short introduction. Each episode (excluding the introduction) runs for approximately 7-9 minutes. More new episodes will be released in the coming weeks.

Story Time with Josh & Blue is available across Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube and wherever podcasts are found.

Story Time with Josh & Blue joins Nickelodeon's growing podcast playlist, which includes Listen Out Loud with The Loud House, The Casagrandes: Familia Sounds and Nickelodeon Animation Podcast, and the upcoming Are You Afraid of The Dark? podcast.

A remake of the groundbreaking, curriculum-driven interactive series Blue’s Clues, Blue’s Clues & You! has a new generation of preschoolers searching for clues with beloved puppy Blue and new live-action host Josh (Josh Dela Cruz). The series features new CG-animation for Blue and Magenta, brand-new elements and refreshed iconic items from the original series including an updated Handy Dandy Notebook equipped with smartphone technology and the return of fan-favorite characters. Production on season two of Blue's Clues & You! was completed before the lockdown hit. A third season has been commissioned. The all new Blue’s Clues & You! premiered on Nickelodeon in the U.S. in November 2019, and has since rolled out onto Nickelodeon channels globally.

The original Blue’s Clues series launched in September 1996 to critical praise from educators, parents, and preschoolers and ran for six groundbreaking seasons. Unified Digital Offering to Drive Incremental Reach and Ad Effectiveness Across ViacomCBS' Immense Audience Scale

NEW YORK--August 04, 2020--ViacomCBS (NASDAQ: VIAC, VIACA) today announced the planned launch of ViacomCBS EyeQ, a new and expansive connected video advertising platform that will serve as a single transactional point of entry for digital video content from ViacomCBS’ leading portfolio of broadcast, entertainment, news and sports networks, with enhanced capabilities to deliver incremental reach across one of the largest premium video audiences in the U.S.

ViacomCBS EyeQ will bring together all of ViacomCBS’ connected video assets — including BET, CBS Television Network, CBS All Access, CBSN, CBS Sports HQ, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pluto TV and VH1 — allowing advertisers to access a viewing audience that measures 50 million full-episode monthly unique viewers in the U.S., and 150 million across all content and all devices.

“The launch of EyeQ marks the arrival of one of the biggest premium video platforms in digital media,” said John Halley, Chief Operating Officer of Advertising Revenue at ViacomCBS. “In unifying the operating backend and go-to-market of three large pre-existing players – CBS Interactive, Pluto TV, and Viacom Video – we have consolidated a massive audience footprint that will deliver quality, scale, and capabilities that cannot be matched.”

David Lawenda, Executive Vice President of Digital Sales and Strategy at ViacomCBS, said “EyeQ is game changing. It is a portal into 50 million highly engaged, full-episode viewers watching our content each month, with 80% of the consumption happening on TV glass. And ViacomCBS can now offer unified buying and frequency control across all of that scale, which is aligned to the needs of an advertising marketplace that is increasingly focused on incremental reach.”

ViacomCBS EyeQ will simplify transactions and reporting across ViacomCBS’ premium digital offering, which is among the broadest and highest quality in the ad-supported marketplace. The content offering includes many of the biggest franchises and number one hits currently running in News, Sports, Late Night, Comedy, Music, Kids, Movies, Reality and Scripted Entertainment, in addition to the most coveted live events.

ViacomCBS EyeQ will support a variety of transactional models depending on advertiser preference, including programmatic guaranteed and private marketplace, and will offer multiple lanes of activation, including:

  • Content segments, allowing advertisers to verticalize spend under scaled content categories, including the best in Entertainment, News, Sports and Kids programming.
  • Broad demos, allowing advertisers to maximize reach across all viewership and platforms.
  • Strategic segments, allowing advertisers to leverage syndicated behavioral sets or custom audiences through leading advanced ad platform, Vantage.
  • Creative, allowing advertisers to customize immersive brand experiences for greater impact through integrations, custom creative, influencers, and live experiences.

ViacomCBS EyeQ will also introduce a new reporting infrastructure to provide real-time data and tactical campaign guidance for advertisers to track spending across platforms. ViacomCBS Preps Connected Video Advertising Platform for Fall

Part of upfront talks, EyeQ will unify digital video buying across CBS Interactive, Pluto TV and Viacom video

The new platform, which is part of ViacomCBS' upfront talks, will become available Oct. 1.

Key insight:

- The one-stop-shop platform comes as digital and streaming video viewership has climbed, and some marketers' budgets are tightening.

ViacomCBS is unifying connected video assets across CBS Interactive, Pluto TV and Viacom video on a singular video advertising platform to debut during the upcoming broadcast year.

EyeQ, the name of the new platform, will make 50 million monthly unique viewers in the U.S. available to marketers across the recently combined company’s video assets, which range from on-demand and live streamers like CBS All Access and Pluto TV, CBS Interactive assets like CBS Sports HQ and CBSN, and digital videos coming from Viacom brands like Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and Paramount Network.

The platform is designed to give advertisers a single point of entry into ViacomCBS’ video footprint, which right now must be accessed separately. The new platform will also offer marketers reporting and measurement tools.

The upcoming format, which is already being brought up in upfront conversations with agencies and advertisers, is aimed at attracting advertisers looking for incremental reach by giving more ways to spend across the ViacomCBS portfolio. It also comes as other television and media companies look for ways to simplify the buying process with one-stop shops of their own.

“We have a lot of history with advertisers who have worked inside of a marketplace that has been generally siloed,” said John Halley, ViacomCBS’s chief operating officer of advertising revenue. “As advertisers look to partner with big players to deliver incremental reach across assets, it’s important for us to bring all of our assets together to be able to offer that size and scale and capability set.”

EyeQ has been in the works since November, when Halley and David Lawenda, ViacomCBS’s evp, digital sales and strategy, began discussing how to to “demystify” the buying process for buyers and give them a single entry point into ViacomCBS’s video assets, Lawenda said. The new platform will also help ViacomCBS address frequency concerns: With buys coming through EyeQ, the company can prevent a Pluto TV viewer from viewing the same ad on the CBS.com side, Halley said.

The platform has taken some time to get off the ground, due both to the recency of the company merger and the Covid-19 pandemic that has upended work life, but will become available Oct. 1, and is a part of this year’s upfront discussions. The tool, which is primarily aimed at agencies that manage multiple advertisers across multiple ViacomCBS properties, will let buyers buy via content segments like entertainment, news, sports and kids programming, broad demos aimed at maximizing reach, or narrow strategic segments using ViacomCBS’s advanced ad platform, Vantage.

The platform will also let buyers customize and plan creative, which could take various forms in the way of integrations, custom content, live experiences or influencer content.

On the reporting and measurement side, a web-based real-time data and campaign guidance hub will become available, and new tools, including ad quality metrics, brand lift, attribution and social sentiment measurement functionalities will roll out, beginning with an October beta that will last between six weeks and two months. The platform will run on two ad servers to start, but that, too, will be unified by the middle of the broadcast year, Halley said.

The upcoming arrival of EyeQ comes as digital and streaming video viewership has been skyrocketing as the Covid-19 pandemic has prompted people to consume more at-home content. ViacomCBS, which says about 80% of consumption across the company’s video occurs on television screens, gave flagship subscription streamer CBS All Access a considerable upgrade last week with an injection of programming and a UI facelift aimed at attracting even more viewers.

“This is a zeitgeist moment for digital and streaming,” Lawenda said. “Marketers are following the consumers and where consumption is happening, and that is digital. And in a world of Covid-19 and a challenging business climate for brands, everyone is looking for efficiency, and for untapped and efficient ways to reach the consumer.”

Halley and Lawenda said early interest in EyeQ is promising. Some agencies have opted to put all of their growth dollars into digital spend on ViacomCBS properties.

“There is certainly an appetite to increase digital investment,” Lawenda said.

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 ¼ teaspoons baking soda
1 tablespoon salt
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 ½ cups packed light brown sugar
2 tbsp pineapple juice
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups chopped semisweet chocolate chips

1. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt.
3. In a mixer fitted with a paddle, cream the butter and sugars until fluffy, 3 minutes.
4. Add the eggs, one at a time, then the vanilla and pineapple juice.
5. Add the flour mixture all at once and blend until a dough forms. Fold in the chocolate.
6. Chill the dough for at least an hour.
7. Preheat oven to 325.
8. Roll 2 1/2 -tablespoon lumps of dough into balls, then place on the baking sheet and flatten to 1/2 -inch-thick disks spaced 2 inches apart.
9. Chill the dough between batches.
10. Bake about 15 minutes until the edges are golden brown.

Avatar: The Last Airbender's Stunning CG Remake Expands with Emotional Aang Scene

The Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise has branched out into all sorts of multimedia projects in the years since the original animated series ended its broadcast on Nickelodeon, and now a stunning CG animated remake for the franchise has got fans asking for this take on the fan favorite animated series next! A group of artists recently went viral for their completely CG animated take on the series' now famous opening sequence, and it turns out that it was such a hit that the artists expanded on their CG remake project with an emotional Aang scene.

Artist Jacob E Mann (who you can find more work from on Twitter here) teamed up with several professional artists to share a fun new CGI animated remake for Avatar: The Last Airbender's opening sequence that featured a pretty slick new take on the series' central hero, Aang. Now that remake has been taken to a whole new level by re-imagining one of the more emotional scenes of the original animated series where Aang talks with Zuko about them potentially being friends. You can check it out in the clip below!

Avatar: The Last Airbender is filled with several distinct moments that fans still remember to this day, and they are looking forward to seeing these moments again whenever the franchise eventually breaks out with its official live-action TV series for Netflix. With there already being a live-action adaptation of the series, an official animated sequel (that's coming to Netflix in the near future), novels, comics, and more under the franchise's belt, fans now can see that a CG animated take on the series would be a fun new step for the franchise. It probably would not be as divisive as you'd think given the franchise's current new wave of popularity in recent years with new fans seeing it for the first time on Netflix. But what do you think?

You Can Dial This Number to Get Sam Puckett's Voicemail | iCarly

Though it’s been quite some time since iCarly said iGoodbye in the series finale in 2012, fans are still completely enamored with the show. The beloved Nickelodeon comedy series follows three teenagers, Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove), Sam Puckett (Jeanette McCurdy), and Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress) as they host their wildly popular eponymous web show, iCarly. The series, which boasts six seasons, remains one of Nickelodeon’s most successful shows and featured huge guest stars such as One Direction, and former First Lady Michelle Obama.

In fact, iCarly was so popular that there was a spin-off made about it which followed one of the main characters, Sam. Sam & Cat was a fusion spinoff of both iCarly and another popular Nickelodeon show, Victorious. Starring McCurdy as Sam Puckett and Ariana Grande as Cat Valentine, the show follows the two friends turned roommates as they form a babysitting business to support their living situation.

Although both shows have come to an end, there’s still a way for fans to briefly connect with McCurdy’s butter sock wielding character. To this day, fans can dial a number and be immediately connected to Sam’s voicemail!

But why does a voicemail box for Sam even exist? Fans of iCarly may remember that Carly and Freddie go on a quest to find Sam in the "iLost My Mind" episode after she kisses Freddie and then makes a sudden disappearance. Desperate to find her, they use an online site to track her cell phone. But, rather than using a 555 number like almost any other film or TV show, iCarly chose to display a real Portland phone number.

Turns out some work went into creating a cell phone number for Sam. An iCarly crew member had to obtain a functioning cell phone number for the show. Once that was completed, McCurdy recorded a voicemail message in character on the off chance that iCarly fans decided to call that number. To date, Nickelodeon still pays to keep the number in working order despite the fact that the episode aired way back in August of 2011.

But what exactly do iCarly fans experience when they call Sam Puckett’s cell phone? The voicemail message is actually pretty short and sweet. “Hey, this is Sam,” McCurdy’s voice rings out as soon as the voicemail begins. “No one ever checks these messages, so just hang up,” she concludes in the character’s trademark blunt way. Последний месяц лета — не повод грустить!

Ведь мы приготовили для тебя очень много интересностей, да и по школе все уже немножко соскучились :) Но раз уж до осени ещё целый месяц, нам давно пора рассказать тебе о его новинках. Начнём!


Просто добавь магии»: премьера третьего сезона на Nickelodeon! C 17 по 28 августа покажем 11 эпизодов, по будням в 15:45 МСК. Да, именно 11, потому что две финальные серии появятся в эфире в пятницу 28 августа одна за одной. Сезон будет полон путешествий в прошлое и будущее, новых заклинаний, неудач и побед. А закончится… А мы не скажем, включайся и смотри вместе с нами!

«Это Пони»: ближайшую неделю будем знакомиться с Пони всё ближе, новые серии по выходным до 9 августа в 14:30 МСК. Энни и Пони будут очень весело проводить время, но и без неприятностей обойтись не получится. А ещё мы лучше узнаем папу Энни! Так что ждём тебя у экрана в субботу и в воскресенье.

«Мир Юрского периода: Легенда острова Нублар»: новые серии весь месяц по воскресеньям в 17:45 МСК. В самом парке мало что поменялось, несмотря на все старания Оуэна и Клэр. Там снова маленькое ЧП, но на этот раз не выдержала электростанция… Конечно же, главные герои всё исправят, но приключения на острове закончатся точно не скоро :)

«Касагранде»: всего два новых эпизода — 9 и 16 августа в 10:50 МСК. Но зато каких! Карлотте выпадет шанс пообщаться с настоящей поп-звездой, Гектор решит вернуться в школу и попадёт в класс к Ронни Энн, а Бобби найдёт нового лучшего друга!

«Губка Боб Квадратные Штаны»: и снова новые серии! 23 и 30 августа в 14:30 МСК. В одном из эпизодов Губка Боб и Патрик увезут Сквидварда в целое дорожное приключение, а во втором — Патрик найдёт новую работу в том самом кафе «Гуфи Губер».


«Да здравствует лето»!

Продолжаем тематические недели весь август по будням в 16:55 МСК. Первая уже началась и посвящена семье, вторую неделю с 10 по 14 августа посмотрим эпизоды об активном отдыхе на свежем воздухе, потом ещё раз устроим неделю самых музыкальных серий — с 17 по 21 августа, и вернёмся к самым милым сериям про семейства Nickelodeon — c 24 по 28 августа. Чтобы не запутаться следи за анонсами в наших соцсетях каждое воскресенье, ведь мы приготовили для тебя забавные челленджи.

«Виктория-победительница» и «Биг Тайм Раш» вернулись в эфир на ВЕСЬ МЕСЯЦ! Смотри самые любимые олдскульные шоу по будням в 9:40 и 10:05 МСК. Та самая новость ради которой стоило читать всю статью, да? :)

И вообще, в будни марафонов будет много, раз уж школы ещё нет. Например с 17 по 28 августа покажем все-все эпизоды про питомцев из «Моего шумного дома». А с 10 по 14 августа покажем марафон «История Губки Боба» и проверим, всё ли мы знаем об этом легендарном персонаже.

И наконец, выходные! В перерывах между прогулками и настоящим летним весельем ты сможешь посмотреть марафоны «Губки Боба» — каждое воскресенье в 12:30 МСК с повтором по субботам в то же время :)
