SpongeBob 3D movie is set to be re-released in August across PVR Playhouse screens pan India


MUMBAI: Nickelodeon - India’s leading kids entertainment franchise boasts of some of the beloved classic shows in its line-up and one such iconic character is celebrating his 20th anniversary. Yes, you heard that right! This year marks the 20th anniversary of Nickelodeon's beloved and most renowned animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, starring the super cool sponge who has inspired pop culture and been a part of every kids’ life since the 90’s. To celebration this landmark anniversary, Nickelodeon India is planning a year-long celebration to celebrate this Bikini Bottom resident through the goofiest gags, memes, fun activities, birthday specials on television and a lot more all year round!

Nickelodeon in India kicked off the birthday bash festivities by premiering brand new episodes of the show, including “SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout”, an original mixed live-action and animated birthday special, in July 2019. Nick HD+ also paid tribute to some of the marquee moments of the show on social media platforms with relatable memes using the campaign hashtag #BeLikeSpongeBob.

Nickelodeon is teaming with online micro-fiction platforms like Terribly Tiny Tales and inviting people to share stories on how SpongeBob has been part of their lives, taking fans down memory lane.

In another birthday special the SpongeBob 3D movie is set to be re-released in August across PVR Playhouse screens pan India (including Mumbai, Delhi, Noida, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai). The movie screening will provide SpongeBob fans of all ages with one more reason to celebrate the comic capers and fun escapades of the adorable Sponge.

PVR Playhouse's are designed to give kids a space where they can watch movies that engage them in the way they want to. Aimed at three to 12 year olds, the Playhouse includes a special 49 seater movie auditorium showcasing children's movies/animated content.

Nickelodeon India's "Best Year Ever" campaign forms part of Nickelodeon's global "Best Year Ever" campaign paying tribute to one of the most iconic TV series and characters ever created, which includes various collaborations and numerous activities all year round, such as a partnership with with The Pantone Colour Institute to create official SpongeBob Yellow and Patrick Star Pink colours in commemoration of the 20th Anniversary. Not only this but Kyrie Irving and Nike have joined forces with SpongeBob for a colourful range of shoes, which is available for purchase globally. Besides this, from fashion (Moschino X SpongeBob) to automobiles (Toyota), Nickelodeon has gone all out to celebrate this legendary character’s birthday and they're just getting started cause this is going to be the #BestYearEver!

Nickelodeon's global "Best Year Ever" initiative will lead up to the Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies theatrical, The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge, coming summer 2020.

‘Slime é Nick Experience’ chega ao shopping Iguatemi Alphaville, em Barueri, com um Circuito de quatro etapas: ‘Elásticos Slime’, ‘LED Slime’, ‘Piscina de Slime’, ‘Slime Lab’ e ‘Piscina de Bolinhas’. O espaço ficará disponível entre os dias 9 e 28 de agosto. O circuito é gratuito, mediante a retirada de senha. O espaço criado pela Nickelodeon é repleto de atividades divertidas, lúdicas e interativas, dividido em um circuito com quatro módulos, que foi idealizado para receber crianças de 5 a 13 anos de idade.

A Nick, como criadora da “meleca verde”, convida a meninada a personalizar o próprio slime. Desenvolvido pela agência Outra Praia, o circuito é formado por 4 etapas: ‘Elásticos Slime’, ‘LED Slime’, ‘Piscina de Slime’, ‘Slime Lab’ e ‘Piscina de Bolinhas’.

Uma das grandes atrações da experiência é a ‘Piscina de Slime’, onde a criançada poderá ter o primeiro contato com o Slime Nickelodeon Original (já disponível em pontos de venda por todo o Brasil).

Ao final, no ‘Slime Lab’, todos os pequenos ganharão uma amostra do Slime Nickelodeon para personalizá-lo e levá-lo como recordação dessa inesquecível (e gosmenta) experiência.

Além de garantir muita diversão do início ao fim da maratona de brincadeiras, as crianças também poderão aproveitar para tirar fotos no ‘Tubo de Slime’ que se encontra na parte externa do circuito e uma incrível ‘Piscina de Bolinhas’.

Nessa etapa, as crianças entram em um espaço cheio de elásticos verdes posicionados como se fosse um labirinto. O objetivo é conseguir alcançar a saída para conhecer o segundo ambiente.

LED SLIME

Uma sala cheia de LED verde irá simular o slime escorrendo nas paredes. Através de espelhos, a sensação visual é de que as crianças estão rodeadas de “meleca verde”.

PISCINA DE SLIME

Esta etapa conta com uma piscina de Slime Nickelodeon Original onde as crianças podem colocar a mão, puxar e fazer fotos divertidas.

SLIME LAB

Nesse ambiente, as crianças podem criar e personalizar (com glitter, lantejoulas e MUITO MAIS) seus próprios potinhos de Slime Nickelodeon Original.

PISCINA DE BOLINHAS

Viacom Launches Paramount+ SVOD Service on Orange TV in Poland

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has announced that it has partnered with the Polish telecommunications provider Orange to launch it's Paramount-branded subscription video-on-demand (SVoD) service, Paramount Play on Orange's television platform, Orange TV, giving Orange TV subscribers access to Paramount's rich film library, as well as programming from Viacom channels, including Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., MTV and Comedy Central!


VIMN launched Paramount Play in Poland in October 2018, where it became the first country in the Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) region to access the service. Initially launched on Play Now from mobile operator P4 and on cable operator Toya, Paramount Play provides unlimited access to Paramount Pictures vast film library, popular series and local productions from Viacom's portfolio of top-tier channels.

As a result of the expanding the partnership between VIMN and Orange Polska, subscribers to the Orange TV platform will receive unlimited access to Paramount Pictures' rich film library and a wide range of programmes from Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., MTV, and Comedy Central. Subscribers of the extended package, including LOVE Extra and LOVE Premium, will receive access to Paramount Play at no extra cost, as part their subscription fee for using the Orange TV services.

Paramount Play offers a rich programme library including such titles as SpongeBob SquarePants, Shimmer and Shine, Comedy Club, South Park, PAW Patrol, Warsaw Shore and Ex on the Beach, and cult feature films such as The Godfather, Saving Private Ryan and Catch Me If You Can. In the autumn, the latest season of the series Yellowstone, starring Kevin Costner will be available on the service.

Additionally, Orange customers in Poland who opt for the Orange TV service, as well as the Love package, can now choose a modern 4K decoder.

According to the company, the 4K Premium decoder (ICU100) or a 4K decoder (IWU200) with a multirecorder service includes live TV replay and seven day catch-up. It also allows users to record an unlimited number of programmes, which can then be stored in the cloud and watched for 30 days.

The multirecorder service will be continually enriched with more channels and is also available to Orange TV Go customers.

Users of Orange’s Multi Premium service who use the 4K decoders will be able to watch programmes recorded on the multirecorder service on other devices.

Meanwhile, subscribers to Orange TV’s extended fibre optic packages will also receive access to the extensive film library of Paramount Pictures – Paramount Play, MTV, Comedy Central, Nick Jr. and Nickelodeon.

Paramount Play (also known as Paramount+ in some regions) is now available in Mexico on ClaroVideo, Brazil for Net, Net Now and Watch users, and in other international markets including: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Hungary.

'Double Dare' Trademark Dispute Gets Messy as Viacom Sues for Name Rights

A heated competition's brewing over Nickelodeon's iconic game show Double Dare, but Viacom -- which owns the popular game show -- isn't playing around ... and filed a lawsuit to prove it.


Update (8/21/19): A New York federal judge is refusing to let Viacom pursue preemptive litigation against a man who claims to now own the trademark rights to the classic Nickelodeon game show “Double Dare,” saying the case is “plainly premature.” The media giant filed the case against Charles Armstrong last year after he threatened trademark litigation over a planned reboot of "Double Dare," but Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald ruled Monday that the dispute was “too speculative and too remote” to be decided in court. The problem? It’s unclear if Armstrong has any actual trademark rights to enforce, the judge said — or if he’ll ever get them.

According to new legal documents obtained by TMZ, a man named Charles Armstrong -- President and CEO of Armstrong Interactive -- filed trademark paperwork in January for Double Dare, months before Nickelodeon aired the reboot of the show on June 25.

Viacom admits in the docs it let its trademarks for Double Dare expire in 2001 and 2002, but claims it has continuously used the name since the show's debut in 1986 for TV programming, live events and merchandise, therefore, it never lost the rights to the name.

The company also claims Armstrong has a slimy history of squatting on classic kids' TV titles in an "illegal scheme" to "exploit the goodwill of other popular shows" ... including Wonderama, Kids Are People Too and Romper Room.

Regardless, Armstrong allegedly fired off a cease and desist letter to Viacom in May, warning the media company that if it went ahead with its relaunch of Double Dare, it would be doing so "at its own risk" of legal action.

Viacom risked it and, along with airing the reboot, is now suing Armstrong to get a judge to declare that Double Dare belongs -- and always has -- to Nickelodeon.

TMZ has reached out to Armstrong for comment, however, he has yet to respond.

Hosted by digital creator and actress Liza Koshy, Nickelodeon's Double Dare revival sees a new generation of fans compete in the messiest and most physically challenging competition of their lives. Bringing together new fans and the iconic game show’s millennial audience from the ‘90s, original series host Marc Summers returns to give color commentary on the challenges, lending his vast knowledge of the game and expertise to each episode.

Series guests include Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Lori Beth Denberg, Jamie Lynn Spears, Josh Server, Rico Rodriguez, Chloe Kim and Lindsey Vonn.

Nickelodeon’s new Double Dare will also spill off of the screen and into the real world this summer, connecting to fans both old and new in a series of forthcoming location-based live experiences. There will be opportunities for fans to play Double Dare in a on-the-ground version all summer long at Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America in Minneapolis.
