'TMNT Splintered Fate' Leaps Onto Apple Arcade

Leo, Mike, Donnie, and Raph embark on a new co-op roguelike adventure


The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have a new mission in TMNT Splintered Fate, a new roguelike game available to play now on Apple Arcade!

In the turtles’ new adventure, master Splinter is missing. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael take to the rooftops, streets, and sewers of New York to find their sensei, unraveling the mystery behind who’s kidnapped him in an evolving narrative. Along the way, the turtles will encounter allies like April O’Neil, Metalhead, and Casey Jones, who will offer clues about Splinter’s whereabouts.

The game looks a lot like the Turtles’ take on Supergiant Games’ Hades. What sets TMNT Splintered Fate apart, obviously, is the inclusion of the turtles as playable characters and cooperative gameplay.

Since this is a roguelike, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will earn randomized power-ups and expand the turtles’ unique combat abilities with each run. In the trailer below, we see a list of selectable power-ups that will affect one of the turtles’ combat abilities, giving him an area-of-effect flame strike, faster attacks, or increased damage while at low health. Similar to Hades, there’s an evolving progression and further elements of randomization: Room layouts will change and bosses will have various modifiers to spice up familiar battles.

TMNT Splintered Fate is developed by Super Evil Megacorp, the studio behind mobile hits like the MOBA Vainglory and battleground shooter Catalyst Black. The game is co-written by game creative director Kevin Michael Johnson and comic book author Tom Waltz.

TMNT Splintered Fate is the latest in an increased push to bring the Ninja Turtles to video games, following on last year’s one-two punch of retro game compilation Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection and throwback beat-’em-up Shredder’s Revenge. Paramount has much more planned for the turtles, including a AAA adaptation of graphic novel The Last Ronin. and an upcoming appearance on Roblox. Even bad guy Shredder got some exposure recently, graduating to Operator status in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

Beyond games, the Ninja Turtles are starring in new animated movie Mutant Mayhem later this year, as well as Stranger Things and Street Fighter comic crossovers.

Apple Arcade is a subscription-based gaming service accessible through the App Store. Priced at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year, the service provides subscribers with access to a growing catalog of games across the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. All games on Apple Arcade are free of ads and in-app purchases.

TMNT Splintered Fate follows the success of Nickelodeon's previously released Apple Arcade games: SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit, Loud House: Outta Control, Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis, and SpongeBob SolitairePants.

This is Kevin Michael Johnson, Creative Director on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate. Today marks the culmination of a lot of hard work, and pizza! We are so hyped to share this project with the world and can't wait to hear from all those Turtle fans as they kick ass together.

Collaborating with Paramount to build this game for the Apple Arcade platform has been a great experience. We absolutely love the idea of bringing family and friends together with our co-op, cross platform expertise. This aligns with our studio mission to build remarkable shared gaming moments, and we hope adds a lot of value to the Apple gaming community.

So, read on and I'll share everything you need to know about Splintered Fate!

IT'S AN ALL-NEW TMNT GAME

We love and live for making incredible, social action experiences, and we have thrown our passion for this space at the TMNT IP: rich, fluid and thrilling combat, blended with the iconic locations and enemies of the TMNT world.

IT'S A CO-OP ROGUELIKE

At Super Evil we are not known for resting on our laurels, we are always looking to bring something new to the table with our games, striving to innovate. As you all know, the roguelike genre has not been shy of new contributions across the industry, but of course we felt like there was more we could push, particularly when considering how to wrap this specific genre around the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The most obvious angle for innovation, was to create a cross platform co-operative roguelike experience. I mean, what’s a Turtles game without all four of the brothers fighting together, confronting mayhem in New York City? We had to do it.

With each run you can expect a different combination of powers and upgrades. Will you go for a lightning strike Mikey build, or maybe focus on Leonardo’s dash strike ability? Inspiration powers are perfect to help your partners and give them powerful buffs. We can't wait to see the interesting combo’s and partnerships that our players form as they take on ever harder Gauntlet Challenges.

WE HAVE WRITTEN A BRAND NEW STORY - SPLINTERED FATE

We've also seen remarkable innovations in the area of progressive storytelling for roguelikes and we thought that would be a worthy conquest as well, particularly with our burning desire to tell a more contemporary TMNT story. We happened to have the belief and support of legendary comic book author Tom Waltz and so we set about to make it happen. Our passion was to create a story that would do justice to the rich narrative tradition the brothers have experienced across the last thirty-plus years, and we got to work jam-packing this thing with as much honor and respect as we could. We even had the privilege of working with the incredible team at IDW on a comic prequel issue of Splintered Fate to help set up the story even further. I was definitely a Turtles fan before I set to work on this story, but now… to me, the Turtles are like family, and there couldn’t be a more significant personal indicator for Super Evil pride in the work we've accomplished here.

WE ARE CROSS PLATFORM AND MULTI-DEVICE INPUT

We are especially proud of being able to fully leverage the power of Apple Arcade and create this experience to run in full 4K on Apple TV or Mac, down to iPhone 6. We have also supported touchscreen. controller and mouse/keyboard support. We hope that families are able to play and enjoy the experience together regardless of their device or preferred way to play, or where they are in the world.

DIRECT-TO-CONSUMER

Q1 HIGHLIGHTS

• Paramount+ reached 60M total subscribers with the addition of 4.1M subscribers in the quarter.

– Global subscriber growth was driven by a strong content slate including top originals like 1923, Tulsa King and the returns of Mayor of Kingstown and Star Trek: Picard, hit film franchises in Top Gun: Maverick and Teen Wolf: The Movie, as well as the NFL Playoffs.

– According to Antenna, Paramount+ is the #1 premium streaming service in U.S. sign-ups in the quarter and since launch in March 2021.

– Paramount+ with SHOWTIME bundle also benefited from strong SHOWTIME content slate including Your Honor and Yellowjackets.

• Pluto TV is the #1 FAST service globally; increased total global viewing hours 35% year-over-year.

– MAUs grew to 80M.

Q1 FINANCIALS

• DTC revenue increased 39% year-over-year.

– Subscription revenue grew 50% year-over-year to $1.11B, principally reflecting subscriber growth on Paramount+, including the benefit from previous launches in international markets.

– Advertising revenue rose 15% year-over-year driven by strong engagement on Paramount+.

TV MEDIA

Q1 HIGHLIGHTS

• CBS led broadcast networks with 8 of the top 10 and 14 of the top 20 series, including the #1 drama in NCIS, #1 comedy in Young Sheldon and the top three new shows in Fire Country, East New York and So Help Me Todd.

• Paramount’s cable networks continued to deliver top shows across key demographics.

– Adult cable series on Paramount’s networks accounted for the top 4 among audiences P18-34.

– Nickelodeon had the top 3 and 7 of the top 10 kids cable series among audiences P2-11, including the #1 new kids cable series in Rubble & Crew.

Q1 FINANCIALS

• Revenue declined 8% year-over-year.

– Advertising revenue decreased 11% year-over-year, reflecting weakness in the global advertising market and fewer NFL games on CBS. Foreign exchange (FX) rate changes had a negative impact of 2 percentage points.

– Affiliate and subscription revenue declined 1% year-over-year, driven by FX and the previous restructuring of certain international affiliate agreements, which resulted in a shift of revenue from our pay television services to our DTC services.

– Licensing and other revenue declined 15% year-over-year primarily reflecting a lower volume of licensed content.

• Adjusted OIBDA decreased 15% year-over-year, driven by the revenue decline, partially offset by lower content costs.

FILMED ENTERTAINMENT

Q1 HIGHLIGHTS

• Paramount Pictures’ franchise-focused approach delivered another #1 box office debut with Scream VI, which is now the highest-grossing installment domestically in the franchise.

• Revenue declined 6% year-over-year.

– Theatrical revenue decreased $4M reflecting the timing and mix of releases.

– Licensing and other revenue decreased $35M driven primarily by lower consumer products licensing revenues.

Pressley Hosbach Signs With Nickelodeon's Music Label

Dance Moms star Pressley Hosbach has reportedly signed with Nickelodeon's music label, with plans to rollout music later this year!


The 16-year-old singer, dancer and actor recently hosted Nickelodeon's Kids’ Choice Awards 2023 Orange Carpet livestream earlier this year, and is a regular face on LEGO and Nickelodeon's LEGO Friends podcast. She was also a contestant on Nickelodeon's HOT MESS digital game show series. Most recently, she took part in Nickelodeon's "No Apologies" music video, empowering kids to be themselves.

Pressley follows in the footsteps of fellow Dance Moms alum JoJo Siwa, who previously signed with Nickelodeon in 2016.

The new NickWatch connected smartwatch from Watchinu will harness the popularity of global kids brand Nickelodeon.


Israeli start-up Watchinu has launched a new connected smartwatch for six to nine-year-olds, NickWatch, under licence agreement with Nickelodeon. Offering a wealth of entertainment based on Nickelodeon’s iconic characters, NickWatch features a variety of games, dances, crafts, music, safe connectivity, communication and customisation, all in one device.

NickWatch has been developed by the team at Watchinu and will be operated via a licensee agreement with Paramount Global, Nickelodeon’s parent company.

The connected smartwatch features characters from a range of beloved Nickelodeon series including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Loud House and more. NickWatch allows parents to monitor their child’s use of the watch and most importantly, keep track of their child’s location via the NickWatch Caretaker App.

Downloadable on all app stores when subscribed, the Caretaker App gives parents and caregivers peace of mind and reassurance when away from their children. Adults can use the app to enable two-way messaging and calls, and even manage the user account on the watch. This includes muting the device, for example during school hours, and choosing who can connect and communicate via messaging and voice notes with their child – and children can’t override the actions taken. Social media platforms are not accessible from the watch.

NickWatch includes eight key features, to provide an imaginative and explorative environment for children (and their parents), helping to spark intuitive play. Chat – Users can have two-way messaging conversations making it quick and simple
for carers to check in when needed.
Talk – Users can make two-way phone calls to inputted and verified contacts.
Create – Enriches creativity and imagination through a variety of mini-applications
including sound effects, musical instruments, funny voices, dance and story words.
    o prompts the user to make up a story with the random words generated.
Play – A number of motion-based games and activities (outlined below).
Design – Allows children to customise and personalise their watch including the
wallpaper, ringtones and message sounds.
Capture – Using a front-facing camera, children can ‘wear’ funny faces to express

with contacts.
Move – The watch tracks daily steps and shows progress overtime. When a new feat

MIAMI, May 3, 2023 -- May is Travel Agent Appreciation Month, and Karisma Hotels & Resorts is celebrating all month long with the introduction of a travel agent advisory board, weekly scavenger hunts with prizes, incentives for new bookings, and seminars taking place throughout the month.

In an effort to elevate the voices of the agent community, the travel agent advisory board, known as the Compass Committee, will provide valuable insight on key initiatives to help shape business decisions. This hand-selected committee, composed of agents, agency owners, and key executives, will receive first-hand looks at new product development and innovation across the portfolio and participate in quarterly online meetings and annual on-site events. Applications open on May 3rd, and a maximum of 15 people will be selected to serve on this year's board. Full-time accredited Gourmet Inclusive® Vacation Consultants (GIVC) and Gourmet Inclusive (GI) Rewards agents and agency owners are invited to apply using this link, www.taadvisoryboard.com. To be considered, agents must be enrolled and active in Karisma's Gourmet Inclusive travel agent programs - GIVC or GI Rewards. Entries will close on May 30th, 2023, and the committee selections will be announced on June 15th, 2023.

Virtual scavenger hunts will also occur each week, and participating agents can win a $250 gift card. The scavenger hunt questionnaire will be distributed weekly via email, closing each Friday at midnight. Each questionnaire will focus on different brands within the Karisma Hotels & Resorts portfolio. Those who complete all four scavenger hunts will also be entered to win a $1000 gift card grand prize.

As an added incentive, new bookings made for Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts and the Margaritaville brand between May 1st - July 31st for travel between May 15th to December 15th, 2023, will receive Double Gourmet Inclusive® points when registered by the agent in their account via Karisma's travel agent portal. 

Additionally, live in-person seminars will occur throughout the month of May focusing on updates to the Karisma portfolio, to include Summer of SpongeBob at Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts and Summer of Music at Margaritaville Island Reserve Resorts. Each week, Karisma will surprise attending agents in a select city with a three-night trip for two to a Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana, Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun, or Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya, opening on June 1st, 2023.
