What could be better than even more side-splittingly funny cartoons, online and free whenever you fancy a chuckle?

Covering topics as varied as video games, zombie siblings and port-a-loo-loving Meerkats, developed shorts from the 2014 edition of Nickelodeon's world renowned Global Animated Shorts Programme are currently rolling out on nicktoons.co.uk and Nick Play App. Four of the funniest shorts will be available to view at any one time and, on the Nicktoons site, viewers will be able to show their appreciation for the creative work by selecting the "vote" button.

The current shorts available to view are:

Bad Bad Bunny, created by Tarryn Henderson

Viacom International Media Networks Looking To Expand Mobile Offerings

In a recent interview with Bloomberg about how cable a la carte is becoming a reality in international markets, Bob Bakish, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), has announced that Viacom is looking to partner with mobile providers to offer channels such as Nickelodeon and MTV to smartphone owners!

The media company is also considering going directly to consumers with networks that now are currently only available in the USA, like TV Land.

Viacom is also looking to expand its Viacom Play Plex, a suite of mobile TV apps, including Nick Play, which allows its distribution partners to offer smartphone and tablet users around the world access to the best content from all of its international TV brands, anytime and anywhere, through mobile providers.

Nickelodeon Play

Bob Bakish met with a number of potential partners whilst attending the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2016, including an Indonesian carrier that wants Nickelodeon content and has more than 100 million subscribers.

Some channels, like BET and TV Land, aren't widely distributed internationally. With those, Bakish said, the company has discussed selling over the Internet either on its own or with the help of mobile providers.

"We are in a range of conversations," Bakish said. "There is a significant incremental penetration opportunity."
