Nickelodeon And Norwegian Cruise Line End Partnership

The cruise industry news website World of Cruising is reporting the unfortunate news that Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that NCL and Nickelodeon will be ending their agreement at the end of 2015, with Nickelodeon branding phased out fleet-wide by January 2016.

Under the agreement with the number-one entertainment brand for kids and families, Nickelodeon-themed entertainment was offered on-board selected cruise ships in the Norwegian fleet. Activities on offer included: The Nickelodeon Aqua Park;Slime Time Live, Nickelodeon's signature messy game show; interactive games by the pool during Nick Live Poolside; Nickelodeon's Pajama Jam; dancing and singing during Dora's Music Party; character breakfasts with channel favourites including SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer; and more.

Branding shall be removed from Norwegian Epic during a brief spell in dry-dock in September 2015, while branding will be phased out on Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway in January 2016. Nickelodeon-themed entertainment planned for Norwegian Escape, currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, will no longer appear at launch in October 2015.

The cruise line has not explained why the agreement was not renewed. However, they did state that since redeveloping their range of children's programs in 2012 they have seen a 20 percent improvement in guest satisfaction of Splash Academy for children and Entourage for teenagers. Andy Stuart, President and Chief Operating Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line, has said that the cruise line will continue to make significant investments to its programming and entertainment on-board its fleet of family-friendly cruise ships. Reference was made to Norwegian Escape which will feature the first Guppies Nursery, a nursery with separate areas for play and napping designed specifically for infants and toddlers aged between six months and two years old.

Norwegian Cruise Line was one of a handful of family-friendly cruise lines that had partnerships with major entertainment brands. Other lines with similar agreements include Royal Caribbean International and DreamWorks, Carnival Cruise Lines and Dr. Seuss, and Disney Cruise Line with its Disney characters.

Nickelodeon is also expanding their recreation program globally, with Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon planned to open in Malaysia imminently, Nickelodeon Land set to open at Sea World Australia later this year, and new Nickelodeon Hotels by Karisma Hotels & Resorts set to open in the Dominican Republic and Mexico from late-2016, allowing more fans around the globe to experience the world of Nickelodeon than ever before!

Nick Jr. Central And Eastern Europe To Premiere "Little Charmers" On Monday 6th July 2015

The Hungarian children's television news website Gyerek-Világ is reporting the exciting Nickelodeon International news that Nick Jr. Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) will start to premiere and show "Little Charmers", a brand-new animated preschool series that celebrates the magic of friendship, every Monday to Saturday at 3:35pm (15:35) from Monday 6th July 2015!

"Little Charmers" is an brand-new animated series for pre-schoolers produced by Nelvana Enterprises and Spin Master Entertainment ("PAW Patrol") featuring charmer-in-training, Hazel, and her two best friend charmers, Posie and Lavender, who are getting a broom handle on their special powers. On any given day in the magical land of Charmville, these novice charmers are excited to break in their magical powers and go on exciting adventures led by fearless go-getter Hazel. She knows while in training she should only use her magic for really important things, but it's just too hard NOT to use magic to go on a cool adventure, help someone, fix something, or just have fun...even when it backfires, which it often does. "Make It Pop" (20 episodes) is a comedic, music-infused daily strip about three unique girls who come together to start their own K-Pop-inspired band. Randomly selected to room together at boarding school, bookish Corki (Erika Tham), fashion-forward Jodi (Louriza Tronco) and social media maven Sun Hi (Megan Lee) meet and bond over music. Nickelodeon Germany, Nicknight And VIVA Enjoy Ratings Successes In June 2015

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Northern Europe has announced the exciting Nickelodeon International news in the following press release, from VIMN North's official Pressecenter, that Nickelodeon Germany's (Deutschland), Nicknight and VIVA Germany continued their ratings successes in June 2015!


Nickelodeon recorded a strong market share of 10.1% in the three- to 13-year-olds demographic. Compared to May 2015, this represents an increase of +10.5%. Nickelodeon's most watched programmes in June 2015 include the popular animated series "Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness" and "Breadwinners" and hit live-action productions "Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn" and "Sam & Cat".

Particularly successful in June 2015 was Nickelodeon's brand-new original comedy series "Bella and the Bulldogs". Launched only in April 2015, the show has already reached peaks of 10.4%.


In the week beginning Monday 6th July 2015, Nickelodeon will launch its summer holiday campaign, which will feature daily animation and live-action blocks. Nickelodeon will also be giving fans the chance to decide which popular show Nick should air as part of Nickelodeon's weekend marathons. Fans can vote for their favourite shows by visiting Nickelodeon's interactive "Island of Wow" website!


Nicknight, Nick Germany's night time programming block for young adults, reached a 2.5% market share in the channels target group of 14-29-year-olds and is growing by almost 15% compared to the previous month. This is the best month for Nicknight since its launch in October 2014! The series "How To Rock", "See Dad Run", "Zoey 101" and "Faking It" continue to score points with the blocks' audience. The newly added show "Friendzone" also recorded strong ratings in its first month on Nicknight.

Viacom's free-to-air German-language music television channel VIVA also enjoyed great growth in June 2015! VIVA reached a 11.1% market share compared to May 2015 and recorded a market share of 2.2 per cent among 14-to-29-year-olds. Especially successfully shows on VIVA in June 2015 were animated hits "American Dad" and "Futurama", and music formats "Eure VIVA Lieblingsklicks" and "VIVA Sounds".

Nickelodeon Germany To Premiere "100 Things to Do Before High School" On Sunday 30th August 2015

The German TV news website wunschliste.de is reporting the exciting Nickelodeon International news that Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland) will start to premiere and show Nickelodeon's brand-new live-action original comedy series "100 Things to Do Before High School", locally titled "100 Dinge bis zur Highschool", every Sunday at 6:50pm (18.50 Uhr) from Sunday 30th August 2015!


Although not confirmed, it is expected that other Nickelodeon channels around Northern Europe will debut "100 Things to Do Before High School" around the same time.

Created by Scott Fellows ("Big Time Rush"), "100 Things to Do Before High School" follows the comedic adventures of 12-year old CJ Martin (Isabela Moner) who always dreamed that high school would be the greatest years of her life. After her older brother warns her that life after middle school is not quite the teenage dream, CJ becomes more committed than ever to strengthen her friendships with her two best friends, Fenwick Frazier (Jaheem Toombs) and Christian "Crispo" Powers (Owen Joyner), before high school ruins their lives forever. Together, they embark on a bucket list of adventures that help them overcome class cliques, terrifying bullies and clueless teachers. For CJ, Fenwick and Crispo growing up means trying everything and taking chances while they still can.

In the series premiere, "Running With the Bears Thing!," the trio set out to conquer each of their biggest fears, and for CJ that means talking to her 8th grade crush. While she plots the perfect scenario for a chance encounter, Crispo must confront his fear of snakes and help Fenwick face his fear of running through the halls with the Pootatuck Bears basketball team. As CJ, Crispo and Fenwick work to move past their phobias, they realize mastering the things on "The List" is always easier with friends by their side.

Scott Fellows created and executive produced Nickelodeon's hit TV series "Big Time Rush", "Neds ultimativer Schulwahnsinn" and DHX Media's "Johnny Test". Previously, he worked as a staff writer for the second, third and fourth seasons of "Cosmo & Wanda – Wenn Elfen helfen", and received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music and Lyrics for the show in 2003.
