Potential New Characters for 'Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl' Revealed

The highly-anticipated Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl just launched earlier today (Oct. 5), but data miners had already found some new fighters that could be joining the game by rummaging around in its game files!

One of the biggest finds was voice lines that seem to indicate characters that could be joining the game through future DLC updates, including some of Nickelodeon’s biggest names.

Announcer audio files were found for Jimmy Neutron (The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius), Plankton (SpongeBob SquarePants), Mr. Krabs (SpongeBob SquarePants), Squidward (SpongeBob SquarePants), Tommy Pickles (Rugrats), Vlad Plasmius (Danny Phantom), Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender), and Rocko (Rocko's Modern Life), according to a post by data miner RockmanBN. Chuckie Finster (Rugrats), Cindy Vortex (Jimmy Neutron), Donatello (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Donnie Thornberry (The Wild Thornberrys), Eliza Thornberry (The Wild Thornberrys) and Filbert (Rocko's Modern Life) are also speculated to be joining the line-up.

One file references a Garfield stage, and includes a placeholder image for the lasagne-guzzling feline. Another includes artwork for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Shredder, who appears to have been given the code name “cheese” as a play on words (Kevin Eastman once revealed that the iconic villain was inspired by a grater.)

After these datamined files were shared, a developer reportedly was quick to address them on Discord explaining that the team opted to record audio introductions for potential characters so that they wouldn’t need to do so later down the road.

“Do not give those voice lines much thought,” said Thaddeus Crews, one of the game's developers. “They’re just covering bases and not be-all-end-all confirmations of what can and cannot happen.”

“I don’t even know why the extraneous ones are in the project in the first place, but hey there’s free meme material for y’all.”

Crews' also addressed some of the questions around leaks ahead of time over on the game’s Discord, saying that he “brought up concerns of datamining & was told content would be removed.”

Crews also confirmed that not everything planned for the base game was able to be ready by launch, and that content hinted at in potential datamining leaks was most likely planned for the base game, as follow-up DLC has yet to be worked on at all. But it still seems a fair bet for what could be coming up.

Here's also Crews said on Discord:

"Brought up concerns of datamining & was told content would be removed. It wasn’t removed

Had a veeeery strong feeling this was inevitable once we learned not everything was gonna make it into base because of the absolutely-cannot-change release date

The only stuff people will find is content that was explicitly meant for base, no DLC content has been worked on at time of writing

Voice lines in the project cover bases and are not be-all-end-all confirmations of what can and cannot happen

Like leg girl, the vast majority of the concerns people have will be alleviated once there’s actual gameplay

I’m undeterred. This game’s post-launch plans are sick and I’m gonna give it 110% all the way"

This means that while the files are genuine, it doesn’t mean that we will be getting any of these iconic characters as playable in the game. Having these files there clearly means that the idea of their addition has been discussed, however.

At the time of release, there are 20 playable characters in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl with more to come in the future via DLC. To find out more about the game, click here.

Rugrats, the reimagining of the classic ‘90s series, is back with more adventures from the colorful imaginations of Tommy, Chuckie, Angelica, Susie, Phil and Lil. The next eight episodes of season one will be available to stream exclusively on Paramount+ beginning Thursday, October 7. Ahead of the all-new episodes dropping this fall, the series was recently renewed for a 13-episode second season.

Joining the cast in this new batch of episodes are:
  • Charlet Chung (Craig of the Creek) as Kimi Watanabe, Angelica’s eternally cheerful adversary at preschool, in “Escape from Preschool.” [sneak peek]
  • Raini Rodriguez (Bunk’d) as Gabi, Betty’s niece and the babies’ favorite babysitter ever, in “Great Minds Think Alike” and “Betty and the Beast.” [sneak peek]

In the all-new season one episodes, the babies will continue to find themselves in a variety of situations by using their wild imaginations, including defeating an “outer space villain,” traveling through Chuckie’s dad’s body, embarking upon a daring mission to break Angelica out of preschool and more. The new batch of episodes also includes a half-hour, Halloween-themed special, "The Werewoof Hunter," where Tommy needs his friends’ help to save Angelica after she turns into a werewolf at a scary Halloween party as their parents seem to disappear one by one.

The series stars EG Daily (Tommy Pickles), Nancy Cartwright (Chuckie Finster), Cheryl Chase (Angelica Pickles), Cree Summer (Susie Carmichael), and Kath Soucie (Phil and Lil DeVille), all of whom reprise their iconic roles in this new series.

The original adventurous babies’ voice cast is joined by new voices, including Ashley Rae Spillers and Tommy Dewey (Tommy’s parents, Didi and Stu Pickles); Tony Hale (Chuckie’s father, Chas Finster); Natalie Morales, (Phil and Lil’s mother, Betty DeVille); Anna Chlumsky and Timothy Simons (Angelica’s parents, Charlotte and Drew Pickles); Nicole Byer and Omar Miller (Susie’s parents, Lucy and Randy Carmichael); and Michael McKean (Grandpa Lou Pickles).

From Nickelodeon Animation Studio, the brand-new Rugrats series features rich and colorful CG-animation and follows the babies – Tommy, Chuckie, Angelica, Susie, and Phil and Lil – as they explore the world and beyond from their pint-sized and wildly imaginative point-of-view.

This August 11th marked the 30th anniversary of the series. The original Rugrats series launched in August of 1991 and instantly became a groundbreaking phenomenon, spawning consumer products and three hit theatrical releases, and cementing its place in pop culture history through its iconic characters, storytelling and unique visual style.  The series earned four Daytime Emmy Awards, six Kids' Choice Awards and its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Rugrats was in production for nine seasons (169 episodes) over the course of 13 years.

Eryk Casemiro (Rugrats) and Kate Boutilier (Rugrats) are executive producers and Dave Pressler (Robot and Monster) and Casey Leonard (Breadwinners) serve as co-executive producers, with Rachel Lipman (Rugrats) as co-producer and Kellie Smith (The Fairly OddParents) as line producer on season one.

Star Trek: Prodigy premieres Oct. 28, exclusively on Paramount+!

Developed by Emmy® Award winners Kevin and Dan Hageman (“Trollhunters” and “Ninjago”), the CG-animated series STAR TREK: PRODIGY is the first “Star Trek” series aimed at younger audiences, and will follow a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search of a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship (U.S.S. Protostar) they have commandeered – a first in the history of the “Star Trek” franchise – but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.

Star Trek: Prodigy stars Rylee Alazraqui as Rok-Tahk, Brett Gray as Dal, Angus Imrie as Zero, Jason Mantzoukas as Jankom Pog, Ella Purnell as Gwyn, Dee Bradley Baker as Murf, and Kate Mulgrew, who is reprising her role of Kathryn Janeway from Star Trek: Voyager. In the series, Janeway will serve as the starship’s built-in emergency training hologram.

STAR TREK: PRODIGY is from CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios’ new animation arm; Nickelodeon Animation Studio, led by President of Animation Ramsey Naito; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Katie Krentz, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers alongside co-showrunners Kevin and Dan Hageman. Ben Hibon directs, co-executive produces and serves as the creative lead of the all-new animated series. Aaron Baiers also serves as co-executive producer.
