Spin Master Has High Expectations For New "PAW Patrol" Toy Lines

Nickelodeon's popular pre-school property Paw Patrol is enjoying 'huge momentum' that will help take it to new levels of success for the year ahead, reports Licensing.biz!


Master toy partner and co-owner Spin Master has revealed to ToyNews that it has high expectations for its new line of Paw Patrol toys, following what it has billed a 'very strong year' for the brand throughout 2015.

"We're seeing huge momentum behind Paw Patrol in 2016," explained Emma Eden, marketing manager at Spin Master.

"We have some incredibly exciting things coming up before we even launch our fantastic autumn/winter range."

Despite The Air Rescue segment only just hitting shelves, Spin Master has already experienced positive feedback from the US market where the line has proved to be very popular among fans.

"We expect to see the Air Patroller and Air Rescue Pups quickly enter the top ten selling Paw Patrol toys," Eden added.

The new collection boasts a flying theme featuring an Air Patroller and line of Collectable Air Rescue Pups that don flight suits and removable flight packs. According to the firm these will provide a new unique play pattern for kids.

"The flying theme is simple but its adds another point of difference and a great play pattern.

"We've seen children collect the entire Paw Patrol range and believe that Air Rescue will be no different."

With a portfolio spanning crafts, puzzles, construction toys and outdoor lines, the pre-school market presents a key area of growth for Spin Master.

"Pre-school is an expanding area for us with the launch of our Noddy Toyland Detective master toy range this summer," said Eden.

"As a home grown property Paw Patrol is hugely important to Spin Master and we are looking forward to building a long lasting, evergreen brand."

PAW Patrol is the No.1 show on Nick Jr. UK & Ireland and airs every day on the top-performing preschool channel and Channel 5's popular Milkshake preschool programming block.

"Yo-kai Watch" Gets Off To Strong Start On Nickelodeon Germany

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Northern Europe has announced the exciting Nickelodeon International news in the following press release, from Nickelodeon Germany's official Pressecenter, that the brand-new anime series Yo-kai Watch got off to a strong start on Nickelodeon Germany (Deutschland), with the series' premiere episode on Monday 9th May 2016 receiving a 15.7% market share in the channels core demo of three-to-13-year-old's, ranking 6th place in the Top 10 Shows of the day!


Additionally, the sneak-peek preview of the first episode of Yo-kai Watch, which nick.de unveiled online on Friday 6th May 2016, was watched by almost 10,000 times, making it the top show online in May 2016!

Yo-Kai Watch follows a boy named Nate (Keita in Japan), who, whilst searching for bugs in the woods one day, comes across a peculiar capsule machine next to a sacred tree. When he opens one of the capsules up, it brings forth the Yo-Kai Whisper, who gives Nate a device known as the Yo-Kai Watch. Using this, Nate is able to identify and see various different Yo-Kai that are haunting people and causing mischief. Joined by the cat Yo-Kai Jibanyan, Nate and Whisper start befriending all sorts of Yo-Kai, which Nate can summon to battle against more ill-intentioned Yo-Kai that happen to live in his town, causing terrible trouble. Nate also goes on adventures around the town with his Yo-Kai partners to help his human friends Bear (Kuma), Eddie (Kanchi), and Katie (Fumi-chan) deal with their various problems, often caused by other Yo-Kai. Later in the series, a new girl named Inaho moves into town, in a different homeroom class from Keita, and discovers her own Yo-Kai Watch and the Yo-Kai Usapyon, who wants her help in restoring the happiness of a scientist he accidentally upset, before opening up a detective agency to investigate the many Yo-Kai "crimes" plaguing the city.


Yo-Kai Watch is a co-production of Level 5, Dentsu Entertainment USA, Inc. and TV TOKYO Corporation, and is geared towards children aged 6 years and over. The Japanese anime television series is based on the hit Nintendo video game series Yo-Kai Watch ("妖怪ウォッチ Yōkai Wotchi?", trademarked in Japan as Youkai Watch and Yokai Watch; lit. Monster Watch) developed by LEVEL-5, Inc, which has sold over 6.5 million units in Japan. With an imaginative plot, great characters, comedy and adventure, Yo-Kai Watch has become one of the most popular franchises of all time in Japan.

On Friday, May 20, the general public can purchase tickets for the first leg of the tour at www.pawpatrollive.com, where fans can also sign up for tour updates and ticket pre-sale notifications for their city. Beginning Wednesday, May 11, exclusive pre-sale tickets are available to *Citi cardholders and current PAW Patrol Live! Tail Mail subscribers. The 90-city North American tour will kick off in Evansville, IN on October 29 and will tour nationwide, including iconic venues in Chicago, Detroit, New York City and many more to come.

PAW Patrol Live! "Race to the Rescue" is an action packed, high-energy adventure featuring up-tempo show music that is set around the day of the Great Race between Adventure Bay's Mayor Goodway and Foggy Bottom's Mayor Humdinger, but with the race about to begin, Mayor Goodway is nowhere to be found. Ryder summons Marshall, Chase, Skye, Rubble, Rocky, Zuma, and the newest pup, Everest, to rescue Mayor Goodway and to run the race in her place.

The show combines classic theatrical scenery along with a high-tech video wall to visually transport families to popular locations from the TV series, like Adventure Bay, The Lookout, Seal Island, Farmer Yumi's Farm and Jake's Mountain. Once guests enter the theater, they will have the opportunity to participate in the adventure and become a part of the PAW Patrol Cheer Team. The show, which includes two acts and an intermission, incorporates an innovative costume approach to help bring the pups to life on stage as well as their vehicles and packs during the all important rescue mission.
