Nickelodeon Brazil to Premiere 'Noobees' on Monday 4th February 2019; Announces Immersive 'Noobees' Truck

Update (7/1): Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) will premiere Noobees on Monday 4th February 2019 at 19h!

To celebrate the upcoming premiere of Noobees, Nickelodeon Latin America's (Latinoamérica) hit scripted eSports-themed series, in February 2019, Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) has partnered with Outra Praia to launch a interactive Noobees-themed truck, which will take viewers into the world of Noobees!

Fans will be able to visit the Noobees truck in Santos, São Paulo every weekend between 11am - 7pm from Friday 4th - Friday 18th January 2019. At the van, fans will find fun and interactive activities that will immerse them into the series. Among the highlights will be three gaming consoles in which pairs of fans can teleport right into "Rocket League", the game featured in the series, by using a special jacket, in which they can also have their photos taken with. At the end of the game, participants will receive an exclusive Noobees temporary tattoo to prove that their the real winners. The truck will seat six fans at a time.

Noobees is a brand-new series that takes viewers inside the high-stakes world of eSports. The show follows of a group of teenage gamers who have the opportunity to live out their biggest dream, participating in the eSports Championship, creating “Noobees”, an eSports team that will compete to win the Professional Video Games League.

N00Bees, whose title denotes a person who is new at playing an online game and/or is bad at it, follows Silvia, her brother Erick and their friends Tania, Pablo and Niko. Silvia has never been interested in video games. She has always preferred the outdoors and playing her favorite sport, basketball. She is the opposite of her father, Hector, and her brother - who, for them, video games are everything! When Erick is presented with the unique opportunity of participating in the E-Sports Championship, his greatest dream, Silvia does everything possible to help him achieve it, even if it means becoming a professional gamer herself. Silvia and Erick, along with their friends, create N00Bees - an E-sports team that will compete for the title at the Professional Video Games League. But this task will not be easy. Besides dealing with all the usual problems associated with growing up, Silvia will have to learn how to play video games while competing against David, the best player in the region and with whom she'll fall in love with. What nobody knows is that something will happen to Silvia that will make her gain some incredible powers allowing her to control the way she plays videogames, and this will be epic! All this will unleash all kinds of adventures and moments that fans CANNOT miss!

The show features new and established pan-regional actors, including Mexican natives Michelle Olvera (La Doña, Huérfanas, O Señor De Los Cielos) and newcomer Andres de la Mora; Colombians Maria Jose Vargas (Majo Vargas YouTuber e Celebridade no Instagram, Puro Flow, Francisco El Matemático) and Ilenia Antonini (Chica Vampiro); and Argentinean Lion Bagnis (La Doña, Baila). Additional cast members are Colombian actress and model Karen Martinez (Cartel De Los Sapos, Final Tiempo), Brandon Figueredo, who returns to Nickelodeon screens following his role in Nickelodeon Latinoamérica's hit series Yo Soy Franky, and Brazilian actress Clara Tiezzi (Malhação, Rebelde), among others.

Created by Enrique Pérez (Flipy) from Mediapro Group’s production company 100Balas, and produced by Viacom International Studios (VIS) and 100 Balas, N00bees is the Nickelodeon's first-ever gaming series, and brings fans closer to the very real world of eSports, a mass phenomenon among young people. The series, directed by William Barragán, reproduces the atmosphere of big games, the finals, and competition among the teams, including spectacular images from the Liga de Videojuegos Profesional (Professional Videogames League (LVP)), the biggest e-sports league in Spain and the host of major online and offline tournaments for such hit games as “League of Legends” and “Call of Duty.”

The show began filming in Televideo, MEDIAPRO’s production studio in Bogotá, Colombia in May 2018, and made its world debut on Nickelodeon Latinoamérica in September 2018. The series, featuring 60 1-hour episodes, will also run on the free-to-air (FTA) network RCN in Colombia. The Spanish language series will also be adapted to Portuguese for Nick viewers in Brazil (Brasil).

MEDIAPRO Colombia’s experience includes productions such as Chica Vampiro (Vampire Girl) which currently stands as the Nickelodeon favorite among viewers aged 4 to 12, bringing in an average of over 648,000 viewers.

To support the series, Nickelodeon Latinoamérica launched several short-form digital series to tie into the show, including Mystery Man, Rutizados and Game Mode, which fans could watch online at mundonick.com, the Nick Play app and on Nickelodeon Latinoamérica's official YouTube channel. Nickelodeon also partnered with Mixer for a series of weekly interactive live streams, and launched the NOOBINFLUENCER contest.

Viacom Announces Plans to Launch Hispanic Streaming Service

Acquisition of Pluto TV creates ‘near-term’ opportunity

Viacom is planning to launch a Hispanic streaming service later this year, after it completes the acquisition of Pluto TV.

Speaking on Viacom’s First Quarter 2019 earnings call with analysts Tuesday morning, Viacom Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Bob Bakish said “we see a compelling near-term opportunity to creating a Spanish-language offering.”

The service is expected to roll out in the U.S. later this year, with Latin America to follow, Bakish said.

The new service would take advantage of “very deep content assets” including Spanish-language versions of its cable networks’ original programming plus Latin American originals from Viacom’s Telefe unit, Bakish said.

“U.S. Hispanic is a large and quickly growing market and a wide open space with no significant streaming service currently dedicated to this audience,” he said.

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), the international division of Viacom Media Networks, currently operates four Nickelodeon branded channels in Latin America: Nickelodeon HD (Latinoamérica), Nick Jr., Nicktoons and Nick 2. Nickelodeon in particular has developed many local productions over the years, including Noobees (recently renewed for a second season), the upcoming Club 57, and Yo Soy Franky, which Nickelodeon remade as I Am Frankie for an international audience.

Viewers in the U.S. can also access Spanish-language Nickelodeon content via the "En Español" hubs on the award-winning Nick App, on the Nick Jr. channel (Canticos), Nick Jr. App, NickJr.com, and on Nickelodeon Preschool's SVOD service, Noggin.

It's currently unclear whether Nickelodeon programming will be included in Viacom's "En Español" streaming service.

On the call, Bakish laid out other ways in which Pluto TV will benefit Viacom after the acquisition closes, which is expected in March.

Advertising inventory on Pluto TV is digital and targetable, which will help to grow Viacom’s Advanced Marketing Services business. Viacom said that about half of Pluto TV’s current ad inventory is not being monetized, creating a big opportunity for Viacom going forward.

Nickelodeon Has Reportedly Decided to Wrap Production on 'Sunny Day'

A member of the Fans of Nick Jr, Disney Junior or PBS Kids Shows Facebook page is reporting the unfortunate news that Nickelodeon has decided to cancel and not renew the network's popular animated preschool series Sunny Day for a third season. Please note that this news has yet to be confirmed.

A representative from Silvergate Media, the studio that developed and produced Sunny Day, reportedly told a member of the Fans of Nick Jr, Disney Junior or PBS Kids Shows Facebook page that the show officially wrapped production not too long ago, and that most of the production crew have gone on to work on Nickelodeon and Silvergate's upcoming preschool series, Fashion Ally (working title).

The series centres on Sunny, a 10-year-old master hairstylist and entrepreneur who uses creative problem-solving to tackle any dilemma that arises in her seaside town of Friendly Falls. The characters in the series celebrate individuality and self-expression, while the show’s social-emotional curriculum highlights leadership, innovative thinking and teamwork.

Sunny is a confident and creative natural leader who runs her own hair salon in the town of Friendly Falls. When adventure calls, Sunny sets out to save the day with her can-do attitude, salon-on-the-go Glam Van, best friends and colleagues, Rox and Blair, and her dog Doodle. Each episode of Sunny Day features a unique digital extension where kids and their parents can watch fun, live-action hairstyle tutorials that are tied directly to the hairstyles featured in each episode and narrated by Sunny.

Initially greenlit for 40 episodes, Sunny Day made its world debut on Nickelodeon USA in August 2017 and has since rolled out on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. channels globally. In the U.S., season one currently has four more episodes left to air. Nickelodeon renewed the show for a 20-episode second season, which is slated to premiere on Nick in the near future. Season two will feature a new vehicle, Groom and Vroom, a new mobile saloon designed only on pets, in addition to the Glam Van. In addition, Lacey will join the salon team to manage Sunny’s new Pet Parlor.

The voice cast of the US-English dub of Sunny Day includes: Lilla Crawford as Sunny, Rob Morrison as Doodle, Élan Luz Rivera as Rox, and Taylor Louderman as Blair.

The voice cast of the British-English dub of Sunny Day includes: Lily Portman as Sunny, Chris Garner as Doodle, Abigail Wisdom as Rox, and Eleanor Snowdon as Blair.

Inspired by Sunny and her friends Rox and Blair’s colorful and creative personalities, Sunny Day consumer products featuring the bold, vibrant color palette from the show and spanning categories including toy, consumer electronics, home goods and more from best-in-class partners begun to roll-out in 2018. The all-new toy line created in conjunction with Mattel includes basic and deluxe doll assortments, accessories, plush, role play and playsets. It became available as a first-to-market in May 2018 at Walmart and rolled out to all other retailers in August 2018.

To support the new merchandise line, Nickelodeon launched the Sunny Day Tour, which kicked off at the Bentonville Film Festival in May 2018, before making stops at select Walmart stores across the country during the summer. This interactive experience was free to the public and included immersive activities, a product showcase and content screenings.

Update (2/5) - It looks like Nickelodeon has decided to wrap two more preschool series. According to the same user on the Fans of Nick Jr, Disney Junior or PBS Kids Shows Facebook page, Nickelodeon has decided to wrap Rusty Rivets after three seasons and Blaze and the Monster Machines after five seasons. Please note that this news has yet to be confirmed by Nickelodeon or Spin Master.

For Rusty Rivets, Spin Master are said to be in the midst of trying to find a new home for it.

Announced at Nickelodeon Upfront 2018, Fashion Ally (working title) follows Ally, a little girl with big ideas and a passion for fashion. Ally is high up in the fashion world, as makes everything around her a bit brighter, bolder and more brilliant, one design fix at a time. Created by Silvergate Media’s Executive Vice President (EVP) of Creative Content, Paula Rosenthal (Nickelodeon's Sunny Day and Peter Rabbit) and commissioned by Nickelodeon, Fashion Ally will be set in the heart of New York, and each episode will be 23-minutes long. The series is slated to premiere on Nickelodeon in 2020.

Nickelodeon's new animated preschool series, Butterbean’s Café

Preschoolers will be whisked away on magical culinary adventures in Nickelodeon’s brand-new CG-animated series, Butterbean’s Café, premiering on Nick Jr. Latin America (Latinoamérica) on Monday 4th February 2019 at 4:30pm in México and at 5:30pm in Colombia! Following launch, new episodes of Butterbean’s Café will air regularly weekdays 4:30pm in México and at 5:30pm in Colombia.

Butterbean’s Café will also debut on Nick Jr. Brazil (Brasil) on the same day.

Created by Robert Scull and Jonny Belt (Bubble Guppies), Butterbean’s Café, the series (40 episodes) centers on a fairy named Butterbean and her adventures running her neighborhood café and bakery, and showcases creative cooking and features a curriculum with social-emotional lessons that highlight kindness and gratitude, and leadership skills.

In the series, Butterbean, her fairy friends--Dazzle, Poppy and Jasper --and her little sister Cricket take pride in serving up healthy snacks and sweet treats to the residents in their community of Puddlebrook. Butterbean’s special magic beans, the fairies’ enchanted kitchen tools and the team’s can-do spirit all combine to make their cafe the most awesome eatery in town.

In Butterbean’s Café’s series premiere, “The Grand Opening!” ("La gran inauguración"), Butterbean and her friends work together to make the opening of the café a success, while competing café owner Ms. Marmalady attempts to throw them off track.

Butterbean’s Café made its world debut on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Monday 12th November 2018, and will be rolling out on Nickelodeon’s international channels and branded blocks throughout 2019.
