Normal, Ill: Children’s Discovery Museum To Host Worldwide Day Of Play Street-Fest On 9/30

Normal, Illinois: Imagine an entire day devoted to play!

The Children’s Discovery Museum in Uptown Normal are inviting kids and families to celebrate Nickelodeon Worldwide Day of Play by joining them for a street-fest full of fun on Saturday, September 30!

More than 50 vendors will take over Beaufort Street to provide scads of exciting PLAY activities. Enjoy stage performances, a bike rodeo, and touch-a-truck area as well as $4 admission to the Children’s Discovery Museum! Free parking is available in the College Avenue Parking Deck.

Fun, physically engaging activities are central to a healthy lifestyle. Nickelodeon recognized this need in 2003 and established the annual Worldwide Day of Play to inspire families to get up, get moving, and go outdoors.

This national initiative, marked by a whole day of activities, encourages children and families to turn off screens, set down electronic devices and go outside to play.

The 11th Bloomington-Normal celebration will expose families to activities and organizations throughout the community that will help them to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

The Children’s Discovery Museum's Worldwide Day of Play street-fest will take place on Saturday, September 30 from 11am-3pm, and is being presented by PNC.

Worldwide Day of Play was created by Nickelodeon in conjunction with its “Let’s Just Play” campaign. The annual event is designed to encourage children and adults to turn off the television and play, especially outdoors.

Nickelodeon is showing their dedication to all things active and playful with the networks annual Worldwide Day of Play tour! This year Nick has made stops in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Kansas City, and San Juan (Puerto Rico), and will finish up at Prospect Park in Brooklyn on September 16th. The national events will eventually culminate in the Worldwide Day of Play on Sept. 30, when Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Nicktoons and TeenNick will go dark to encourage kids to go outside and play.

Finding NICKterns is not an easy task! Nickelodeon needs plenty of time to match up the right candidate with the right team. That's why they encourage you to submit your application for the Spring 2018 NICKternship by Wednesday 1st November 2017. For any applications received after the deadline, Nick will do their best to accommodate, but there is no guarantee that you will be considered for the position.

Nickelodeon's Spring 2018 NICKternship program will start in February and wrap in April/May.

Candidate Eligibility:

Candidates must meet and comply with ALL of the criteria below to be eligible for any Viacom Internship Program

- Internships are paid at a standard competitive hourly rate (California).

- Proper work authorization is needed to be employed within the United States.

- Interns must be available for a minimum of 10 weeks. An extension may be requested by the department following the 10 weeks, but may not overlap with the next internship semester.

- Interns must be available to work a minimum of two full days per week (16 hours), but some departments may require more than two days. Interns may work no more than 35 hours per week.

- Internships are open to current, matriculated college juniors, seniors, and recent grads who are still enrolled in an accredited, degree-granting school. Graduate students, MBA candidates, and law school students also accepted.

- All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited, degree-granting college/university.

- Upon acceptance, Nickelodeon will require a letter from your college/university confirming you are a matriculated junior, senior, graduate student or law student. Failure to provide this letter at orientation may result in dismissal for the program.

- College credit is not required, but Nickelodeon will provide appropriate documentation if necessary and upon request.

- Please note that Nickelodeon do not offer housing or transportation. Guidance on accommodations is available upon request.

Nickelodeon Launches 360° "Nick – Voll mit Toll" Campaign in Germany, Switzerland and Austria

Following Nickelodeon's extensive brand-refresh earlier this summer, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) is launching a brand-new campaign for Nick in Germany (Deutschland), Switzerland (Schweiz) and Austria (Österreich).

Titled "Nick – Voll mit Toll", the campaign showcases what the Nickelodeon brand stands for: entertaining and child-friendly content - and above all, having lots of fun. The large-scale, cross-media campaign was created in a collaboration between VIMN and Germany-based creative agency BDA Creative.

In line with Nick's new design, the campaign features striking colour palettes and a bold, modern typography. Real children are just as prominent in the campaign as well-known Nickelodeon characters. This creates a strong connection between the brand and its programming highlights, such as Spotlight, SpongeBob SquarePants, and The Thundermans. The 360° campaign is running across all platforms: on-air, online, print, out-of-home (such as billboards), social media, radio and motion picture.

An integral part of the campaign is a spot featuring popular rapper Fargo, who invites viewers into the creative, fun and colourful world of Nick to discover. The result is a 60-second spot for cinema's and shorter versions for TV and online. The TV spot also features an appearance from popular Nickelodeon presenter Sascha Quade.

To celebrate the launch of Nickelodeon's "Nick – Voll mit Toll" campaign, Nickelodeon has launched a exclusive competition in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, in which kids and parents can decorate their fingers to become funny Nickelodeon characters, film them to make hilarious videos, and upload them to Nickelodeon on, and The competition is being promoted with special viral videos on Nickelodeon's social media channels.

SpongeBob SquarePants Paints Indonesia’s Fashion Week GOLD With New Fashion Collection

Nickelodeon South East Asia has collaborated with Indonesian actor and contemporary fashion designer Tities Sapoetra for a brand-new SpongeBob Gold fashion line!

Sapoetra showcased his interpretation of Nickelodeon's iconic sponge by turning up the GOLD Heat at Plaza Indonesia Men's Fashion Week 2017 (PIMFW / PIMFW2017) on Tuesday 26th September 2017. The Tities Sapoetra X SpongeBob Gold Collection mixes Sapoetra's signature brand of fashion with the fun and energy of superstar SpongeBob SquarePants for a truly Sponge-Tastic new range of apparel.

NEW YORK—Sept. 26, 2017—Nickelodeon’s just-completed third quarter performance extends its winning streak as basic cable’s top network in total day with all three kids’ demos–Kids 2-11 (2.1/572,000), Kids 6-11 (1.8/304,000) and Kids 2-5(2.6/267,000). This quarter (6/26/17-9/24/17) marks Nick’s ninth straight quarterly win with Kids 2-11 and Kids 2-5 and its fourth straight quarter at number one with Kids 6-11.

Nick holds a double-digit lead over the competition this quarter among Kids 2-11; owns the number-one kids’ shows in the three key kid demos; and scored nine of the top 10 shows for Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11 and preschoolers.

Nick is also ahead of Cartoon Network by +91% with Kids 2-11 (1.1/301,000), +50% with Kids 6-11 (1.2/207,000) and +189% among Kids 2-5 (0.9/94,000).

For the year to date (12/26/16-9/24/17), Nickelodeon is number one, averaging a 2.2/597,000 with Kids 2-11, a 1.9/311,000 with Kids 6-11 and 2.7/286,000 with Kids 2-5 –double and triple digits ahead of competitors. Nick also owns nine of the top 10 shows among Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11, led by The Thundermans, and six of the top 10 preschool series, led by PAW Patrol.
