Viacom to Launch Paramount+ SVOD Service in Latin America; To Include Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. Programming

Viacom is expanding its subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service Paramount+ globally and has struck a mobile distribution deal in Latin America. Building on its existing presence in Scandinavia and Central and Eastern Europe, Paramount+ will become available May 1 in Brazil before rolling it more widely.


The service is currently available in the Nordics and across Central and Eastern Europe where it offers the exclusive first pay-window for Paramount movies such as The Godfather, Shutter Island, True Grit, Star Trek Into Darkness and The Ring as well as MTV and Comedy Central titles including Inside Amy Schumer, Geordie Shore, Broad City, Teen Mom and South Park.

From Wednesday, May 1, the service will be available in Brazil to mobile subscribers via NET, marking the first mobile distribution partnership in Latin America. It will also be available to NET subscribers and non-subscribers via Android and iOS apps and will roll out across Latin America through Claro Video, part of telecom from America Movil, with the company hoping to reveal a raft of additional pay-TV, internet and mobile deals.

Paramount+ in Latin America will offer series on-demand, including The Handmaids' Tale and Paramount Network original Yellowstone along with more than 2,000 episodes of programs from Viacom’s other flagship channels, including Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Comedy Central and MTV. The service will also provide on-demand access to a curated library of more than 150 movies from Paramount Pictures.

David Lynn, David Lynn, President and Chief Executive Officer of Viacom International Media Networks, who is set to discuss the roll out at the APOS conference in Bali this week, said, “By forging partnerships with the world’s leading operators and distributors we are able to bring Viacom’s premium content to new global audiences. As the media landscape continues to evolve, we will aggressively innovate to expand our partner offerings, including Paramount+, across our massive global footprint.”

Paramount+ debuted as an SVOD aggregation service in 2017 in Sweden, Denmark and Norway, with Finland added in March 2019. Also in 2018, the service debuted in Hungary and Poland, where it became available under the name Paramount Play.

Nickelodeon Bolsters Noggin Through Acquisition of Sparkler, An Early Childhood Learning Platform

NEW YORK--In a move that further expands the educational value of Nickelodeon’s Noggin, the network has acquired Sparkler, an early childhood learning technology platform, and has installed its co-founder Kristen Kane as the new leader for the direct-to-consumer preschool subscription service. Noggin is Nickelodeon’s ad-free, video subscription service with educational content currently featuring over 1,500 iconic, full-length library episodes, short-form videos, Spanish-language videos, and music videos featuring preschoolers’ favorite characters and more.

Sparkler is an early learning platform that measures child development and delivers personalized content and coaching to parents to improve child outcomes. Over the next year, Sparkler’s technology will be integrated into Noggin’s platform, enabling parents to guide and support their kids’ continued growth and development through engaging, playable content and experiences on and off screen, with personalized features that track progress over time.

Kane, in the new role of Noggin’s Executive Vice President (EVP), will oversee the integration of Sparkler and drive Noggin’s strategy and next phase of development as an educational digital platform. She will be based in New York and report to Nickelodeon President Brian Robbins.


Said Robbins: “Pairing Sparkler’s capabilities with our curriculum-driven content will fully transform Noggin into a premier interactive learning destination for preschoolers and their families. Kristen brings extensive experience in the education and technology space, and she will help drive Noggin’s growth with an increased focus on delivering even greater value to our direct-to-consumer service.”

Subject to the terms of the transaction, Sparkler’s work with schools, healthcare providers, and social services providers will continue through a new non-profit organization called Sparkler Learning, and Viacom will support its mission of helping families give their children a strong start in life through partnerships with educators, doctors, and others serving young families.

Previously, Kane was the founding Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Amplify, an education technology company dedicated to collaborating with educators to create learning experiences for students K-12. Prior to that, she was COO of the New York City Department of Education in the Bloomberg administration, responsible for the implementation of reforms and oversight of daily operations. Kane also served at the Federal Communications Commission, where she led the development of strategies for applying broadband technologies in the education, healthcare, and energy sectors.

Noggin subscriptions have grown by triple digits year over year from 2017 to 2018, and the service is currently available for iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, Android, Fire tablet and Roku devices, as well as on Amazon’s Prime Video Channels and The Roku Channel. With over 30 series to date, including current titles like PAW Patrol, Blaze and the Monster Machines, Peppa Pig, and Bubble Guppies, Noggin’s lineup also features classic favorites such as Dora the Explorer, Blue’s Clues, Team Umizoomi and Yo Gabba Gabba!

Since its launch in 2015, Noggin has consistently ranked at the top of the charts in the Family and Kids categories, and it is one of the Top 10 Kids Apps on the Free Apps chart on the App Store, in addition to being the number-one grossing app for Music and Video in the Family Category on Google Play. Nickelodeon wants to turn kids’ living rooms into classrooms.

The Viacom Inc.-owned kids’ network has acquired the learning app Sparkler and plans to fold it into Noggin, a video service for preschoolers. Kristen Kane, the co-founder of Sparkler, will now oversee Noggin, which combines a catalog of more than 1,500 episodes of shows like “Paw Patrol” and “Peppa Pig” with play-as-you-go learning challenges involving popular Nick characters.

The companies didn’t disclose terms. The acquisition is a sign of Nick’s growing confidence and investment in Noggin, which has about 2.5 million subscribers.

“This app all of a sudden over the last year is growing like a weed,” said Brian Robbins, the president of Nickelodeon.

Robbins, a successful actor, producer and entrepreneur, hesitated when Viacom Chief Executive Officer Bob Bakish asked him to take over Nickelodeon. While Nick is still the most-watched kids’ TV network in the U.S., viewership of kids’ TV has been in decline for the better part of a decade -- hurt by a new generation of youngsters watching YouTube and Netflix instead of traditional cable and satellite.

Revived Brand

But he saw opportunities to capitalize on its animation studio and live events -- and he saw an underappreciated asset in Noggin. Viacom co-founded Noggin as a cable network in 1999, an offshoot of its popular Nickelodeon channel aimed at younger kids. After turning Noggin into Nick Jr., it revived the brand in 2015 as the name of an online-only service for kids.

Noggin is one of Viacom’s earliest efforts to gain a foothold in the booming market for online video. But it has been something of an afterthought for the past few years, seldom discussed as a huge growth opportunity for a company that has reported declining sales. Netflix Inc. and Amazon.com Inc., meanwhile, invested billions of dollars in kids’ programming to lock in a new generation of families.

That all changed when Viacom began selling the service via Amazon’s channels store. Its domestic subscriber base has more than tripled over the past year. Deals with international pay-TV providers like Telefonica SA have provided a further 1.9 million customers, Robbins said.

Robbins has no intention to compete head-to-head with Netflix and Amazon in entertainment, an expensive proposition. Instead, he wants to further establish Noggin as an app parents can trust -- a productive use of screen time that also entertains. He also intends to expand the service’s target audience to include kids as old as 8, from the current range of 2 to 4.

Sparkler allows parents to measure a child’s early-stage educational development, and it delivers personalized coaching to reach certain goals. Kane used to work for New York City’s Department of Education and News Corp.’s former Amplify digital education unit.

“When handing a kid a device, it feels really good to know that they are getting more out of the experience than just watching,” Robbins said. “Ramping up the education -- and the benefits of that -- I think will make Noggin explode.”

Nickelodeon’s new original TV movie, Bixler High Private Eye, starring Jace Norman (Henry Danger) and multihyphenate actress, singer and author Ariel Martin, a.k.a. “Baby Ariel,” is set to premiere on Nickelodeon Latin America (Latinoamérica) on Saturday 27th April 2019 at 18:00 on Nickelodeon Argentina and at 20:00 on Nickelodeon México, Nickelodeon Colombia and Nickelodeon Venezuela (TX time for Nickelodeon Chile TBA)! The live-action comedy, locally titled O Agente Secreto de Bixler in Latin America, follows Xander DeWitt (Norman), an inquisitive teenager who has a knack for solving mysteries, as he tackles his biggest case yet when his father suddenly disappears.

The film will also premiere on Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) the same day.

In O Agente Secreto de Bixler, Xander’s sleuthing skills get put to the test when his dad, Russell, leaves for work one day and vanishes without a trace. Frustrated by his attempts to find his dad, Xander’s mom sends him to go live with his grandfather (Ed Begley Jr.), a retired private investigator. It’s in his dad’s hometown that Xander finds a surprising lead in the case and builds an unexpected partnership with Kenzie Messina (Ariel Martin), an investigative reporter for the school newspaper.


Bixler High Private Eye marks Norman’s fifth starring role in a Nickelodeon TV movie, and his first as an executive producer. He currently stars in Nickelodeon’s Henry Danger, the number-one live-action show on TV with Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11, and the network’s longest-running live-action sitcom. Norman is also the co-founder of Creator Edge Media, an influencer marketing agency.

Ariel Martin, a.k.a. “Baby Ariel,” is an award-winning actress, singer, entrepreneur and author who has catapulted into mainstream media. She has captured an audience of over 40 million across all her social media platforms, and over 282 million views on her YouTube videos alone. Nickelodeon Receives 16 Nominations in 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced the fantastic news that Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids, has received 16 nominations in the 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards! Additionally, Beat Bugs, which airs on Nick Jr. Australia also garnered two nominations in this years awards!


The Daytime Emmy Awards recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production and are presented to individuals and programs broadcast in the U.S. from 2:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. during the 2018 calendar year.

The 46th Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards Gala honors the more than 70 craft & program categories behind the many shows that grace the Daytime genre.

The winners of Daytime Emmy Awards 2019 will be announced at a prestigious ceremony held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Sunday, May 5, 2019. INTERVIEW: Mike Rubiner on producing Nick’s “The Loud House”

The Loud House continues to make a lot of noise. While production is beginning for Season 4 of Nickelodeon’s hit comedy, so is work on the recently-announced, The Loud House Movie, which will find a home on Netflix. Oh, and the show just picked-up a trio of 2019 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, the most in the three years of the series. Exciting times, indeed, for Executive Producer Mike Rubiner.

Mike Rubiner: Honestly I had sort of forgotten that it was even time for that. I just heard excited voices around the office and stuck my head out the door. I was like, “What’s going on?” And I found out that we were nominated for three Emmys. So in a way that’s the best way to find out – when you’re not waiting for it and it just, kind of, catches you by surprise.

Jackson Murphy: Did you have a little celebration?

MR: We did. I think there might’ve been some bubbly of some sort opened up. Everybody was super excited. I think we were nominated for one or two last year, but this was the most that we’ve gotten. And the fact that it was three really significant categories was pretty exciting.

JM: Let’s start with Outstanding Children’s Animated Series. Producer Karen Malach is credited. When you’re going through the process of submitting for this category… are you part of that? And which episode did you guys submit for this?

MR: Yeah. I am part of it. And we submitted, I think in all of our categories, we ended-up submitting the same half-hour special, Really Loud Music. It was a two-parter, 22-minute episode that features Luna, our rocker teen, but also very much features the whole family – and it’s got a lot of music. It was a much bigger episode, not just length-wise, but also visually as well. It had a lot of music video elements to it and was a lot of fun. So we felt like that episode was firing on all cylinders, so that’s the one that we submitted.

JM: I agree with you completely. A lot of components to that episode. I interviewed Michelle Lewis and Doug Rockwell, the songwriters, around November when that episode aired. And they’re nominated for Outstanding Music Direction & Composition. I could tell that they were thrilled with how the episode turned out.

MR: We all were. Working with Doug and Michelle was amazing. They brought so much to the episode, not just writing the songs (and I think, pretty much, all the lyrics came from them) – really hooked into all the characters and what they were about. They found ways to express those characters through song, and it kind of blew all our minds what an amazing job they did. If production-wise, it was not such a beast that nearly killed us all, we’d love to do more musical episodes.

JM: That’s what they said. They told me they would love to do more music-themed episodes, so we’ll see what happens. You were nominated last year, as you are this year, as Story Editor in the Outstanding Writing for an Animated Program category. There are five writers credited as well. Did you go to the Creative Arts Emmys last year?

MR: Yes, we did go last year. And that was really cool. That was my first time going to the Emmys, and I think for a lot of our writers as well. So it was super fun. We didn’t go home with the award, but it was still pretty awesome, and there were great before and after parties.

JM: And I’m sure it has to be an amazing experience to be among others in the animation community.

MR: Yeah, totally. It’s like a “This is Your Life” experience, where you see everybody you’ve ever worked with. A lot of my career was in New York, so I’ve only been in L.A. for six years or so, which seems almost like a heartbeat. For some of the other people I’ve worked with who have been here for decades, it’s like a big family reunion.

JM: And what would it mean to you to win this year in the Writing category?

MR: It would be a really great honor. We’re up against some really strong shows. The Loud House is very much a script-driven show, as opposed to a board-driven show. We put a lot of care and a lot of thought into our scripts. To have that recognized would be really awesome, and we have a really strong team. We work with a Writer’s Room, as opposed to freelancing stuff out, so we have a very strong group of writers who have been with us for a number of years – who really know these characters. I think that’s been a great way to run the show.

JM: And all the scripts you write are so complex because you have so many characters. Maybe the Emmy community should reward you because you’re writing for so many characters in every episode.

MR: Yeah, definitely. A family of 13, plus our ever-growing group of friends and school characters, and characters around the neighborhood: it’s grown into quite a big world, which is a lot of fun. And I think that’s part of the fun of working on a show that lasts numerous seasons like this one does. You get to keep expanding the world. When we all started on this show, knowing that we were writing for 13 characters, it was a little bit daunting. But it has actually turned out to be a real boon to the writing because it just gives you so many different places to go for ideas, comedy and stories.

JM: You say “expanding the world”. Do you think that’s the main reason why the show has grown over the years?

MR: We started out, in the first season, having this very Lincoln-centric (because of the whole concept of one boy with 10 sisters). So for the first season, almost all the stories were Lincoln’s point of view, and also the notion of the “Loud House”. Everything is in this small house with all these people crammed in it. So that first season, we really tried to milk all the story we could out of that concept. But I think we knew that by the second season, we had to open things up.

We started doing more stories about the sisters – even stories that wouldn’t have Lincoln in them. And then we expanded out to locations across the town and region (specifically suburban Detroit/southeastern Michigan). And I think every season we have expanded a little bit more and gotten to know characters who are not even part of our family, like Lincoln’s best friend, Clyde, and his two dads and all the girls’ friends. There are a lot of places to go, and I feel like we still can keep expanding that world. That’s the great thing about this show – it’s diversity.

JM: When you said, “making it Lincoln-centric”, that made me think about “The Simpsons”. That show started out with a lot of episodes about Bart the first couple of seasons, and then it expanded out to the world of Springfield. Were there other animated family shows that have inspired The Loud House?

MR: Yeah. I think a lot of the inspiration came from old comic strips, things like “Peanuts”. It has a little bit of that retro look about it. Though we’ve ended-up situating the kids in a very modern world with all our technology. So it has a little bit of that retro feel, but also I think is very relatable to present day kids. The other touchpoint for I think a lot of us on the staff and the writing is “The Brady Bunch”, oddly enough.

JM: I love it!

MR: It was a live-action show, and quite a while ago, but we were all influenced by it and that whole notion of a big family and the chaotic-ness of it – but the warmth of it and a lot of heart as well. So that was another inspiration for us.

JM: So many people have called The Loud House Nickelodeon’s most successful animated series since “SpongeBob”. How does hearing a statement like that feel to you?

MR: Pretty incredible. “SpongeBob” is such a massive phenomenon. To be in the footsteps of that is pretty great. I feel really fortunate to be part of this show, and I think we all knew from the beginning that it was something special. And we have a really amazing and very carefully picked group of people that we work with: our cast and crew. So it’s been an amazing experience for me – definitely the most exciting experience I’ve had working on a show.

JM: And I think it’s been resonating, not only with kids in the key 2-11 demo at Nickelodeon, but also older audiences.

MR: That’s super fulfilling to hear that. That’s the kind of ultimate thing that you want to hear: that kids can watch it with their parents, and the parents are not cringing or running from the room – but actually enjoying it. And that’s really satisfying for all of us. And I don’t even think we consciously think, “Okay. We need to have those two-levels” that you look for sometimes in kids shows: there’s the kid level, and there’s the adult level. We kind of take the approach of not writing down to kids at all and looking for stories that we feel are funny. Of course, we want to be sure there’s something that kids relate to in these stories, but… we want to make ourselves laugh as well. So I think that’s how it comes about.

JM: I’m a ratings guy: love looking at those stats. The ratings have been fantastic: around 1.5 million viewers for the first airings of each new episode. But the beauty of Nickelodeon is that the episodes get to air over and over again. So how important are the ratings for the first airings, or does it not really matter because they’re gonna be airing over and over again?

MR: We do re-air a lot. The Loud House is on numerous times almost every day. And I think one of the things that really makes the network happy about The Loud House is that it does really well in its premieres but also does really well in the re-airings. It keeps a really solid number throughout the day and throughout the week. And that’s what you hope and dream for with the show.

JM: So it has been announced that a movie is in the works. And we know that Season 4 is also in the works. Several shows like “SpongeBob” and “The Simpsons” – and “Bob’s Burgers” is dealing with it right now – doing production of the series at the same time as making a movie. How are you guys going about doing that?

MR: Good question. Well, we’re not putting a pause on the series to do the movie. We’ll just be hiring a separate team, basically. One of our The Loud House writers who’s been with us for a long time is going to be writing the movie, and we have some other staff members from our team who will migrate over to the movie – who will help us keep all the important aspects of the series consistent with the movie. But we’ll also have a lot of new people and a director and producers. They’ll be some overlap with our team, but we won’t be asking our team to make a movie at the same time as they’re making a TV series, which would kill everybody, I’m sure. I think we’ve found a way to have the best of both worlds.

JM: That’s good. I’m sure the fans will be happy with that strategy. So for the Daytime Emmys, do you have a speech ready?

MR: I do not have a speech ready. I can tell you that I will try to keep it short because I remember how long the Emmys was last year. It will be short, succinct, really just thanking the amazing team that I work with here if we’re lucky enough to win.

The Loud House – Exclusive Interviews With Grey Griffin and Tex Hammond

“The Loud House” Season 4 returns in May on Nickelodeon and we got the wonderful opportunity to interview Grey Griffin and Tex Hammond, mother and son duo who lend their voices to the show. Grey voices Lola, Lana, and Lily Loud while Tex voices the star of the show, Lincoln Loud. “The Loud House” was nominated for a total of three Emmy Awards – Outstanding Children’s Animated Series, Outstanding Writing for an Animated Program and Outstanding Music Direction And Composition.

Bringing to life some of the show’s lead characters are mother-son duo Grey Griffin and Tex Hammond. Grey is a voice industry veteran who lends her voice to Lola, Lana, and Lily Loud and Tex voices Lincoln Loud. The pair record together at Nick’s studio in Burbank.

BSCKids: So how is it working together on “The Loud House”? And how does it feel to voice siblings instead of your normal mother son relationship?

Grey: Ha! Well, he’s way more mature than I am sometimes…so having him play my big brother doesn’t feel like that much of a stretch!

Tex: I give great advice!

BSCKids: What has been the funniest thing that has happened while you have been recording?

Tex: Sometimes my mom tries to help direct me, and I’m like, “Let’s leave this to the director, shall we?”

Grey: Guilty.

BSCKids: How do you get into character to do your recording?

Tex: It’s easy for me, because I feel like Lincoln and I are similar. I have a 2-year-old sister and a 4-year-old brother, so I’m used to a certain amount of craziness and diaper disasters at home!

Grey: He’s a very sweet big brother, as is Lincoln! Sometimes I get confused as to which sister I’m playing! It’s hard to keep all of those “L-names” straight!

BSCKids: What does a normal day of recording usually entail?

Tex: My dad usually picks me up from school and then we go straight to Nick to meet my mom! I’m usually starving, but the studio has great craft service…and candy…which I only eat a very sensible amount of?

Grey: Don’t eat a bunch of candy, honey!

BSCKids: Besides “The Loud House”, name some of your other favorite characters you have voiced?

Tex: I’ve done guest roles on “Glitch Techs” and I play Astro on a show called “Super Wings” that my baby brother loves! I also play Fangbert on “Vampirina”!

Grey: I loved playing Vicky on “The Fairly Odd Parents” and Sam on “Danny Phantom”. I also have been the voice of Daphne on “Scooby-Doo” for over 20 years. And I’m the new Redhead on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland! Lots of redheads! Ha!

BSCKids: In one sentence, why should people tune in to watch “The Loud House”?

Tex: Watch “The Loud House” if you’d like to see a family that REALLY loves each other and sticks up for each other no matter what!

Grey: That was good, Tex. Same.

BSCKids: If you could guest star on one live action Nickelodeon show, which one would it be and why?

Tex: THE NEW “ALL THAT” SHOW! I have been a fan of sketch comedy forever and I make a ton of funny YouTube videos with different characters…wigs. I’m such a fan of “SNL” and Keenan Thompson. If would be AMAZING to do that show!

Grey: I don’t do live-action! Ha, I guess I’ll wait and see if Tex can get me a part on ALL THAT if his dream comes true!

BSCKids: You must love being able to work with your son. Is there anything you feel that you have to do a bit differently as a parent because you work together?

Grey: I have to be more prepared than I normally am, so I don’t set a bad example. I also have to watch my mouth a bit more…sometimes I’m naughty.

BSCKids: How do you feel that Lola and Lana voices are different? Can you describe what it takes to go between the two of them? With Lily not really talking that much yet, do you actually get lines for her or more of you do what you feel the scene requires?

Grey: Thank goodness, they color-code the highlighter because it can get confusing! With Lily…I just say “poopoo” with different inflections depending on the scenario!

BSCKids: Do you feel like you have anything in common with Lincoln? How would you feel having 10 sisters of your own?

Tex: Well one thing I totally have in common with Lincoln is that the kid who plays Clyde is REALLY one of my REAL-LIFE best friends! HI ANDRE!

I would definitely not want 10 sisters. Two siblings is crazy enough!

BSCKids: How do you fit in the rest of your hobbies and school with the voice acting that you do?

Tex: Well my art is important to me. I’m constantly drawing and posting pics to my Instagram (@texhammond. Sorry! Shameless plug!) and I recently cut back playing video games to only a few hours on Saturdays, so I feel like I have enough time for homework, acting and drawing now! For a while, it was a little nuts…but its way better now! Balance!

Chloe's Pops Launches 'Thomas & Friends' and 'Sunny Day' Fruit Ice Pops

Chloe's Pops, a line of frozen treats, has partnered with Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids for a new kid-focused line!


The line of 40 calorie fruit pops is made with the same simple base ingredients as Chloe’s main line — fruit puree, water, and cane sugar. At launch, a new blueberry-banana combination features Thomas & Friends branding and packaging, while Sunny Day will be featured alongside a new strawberry-mango blend. The line made its debut at Natural Products Expo West earlier this year, and will roll out nationwide across North America at Walmart, ShopRite, and other major retailers by the end of May. For its kids line, Chloe has gone with a 1.5-ounce (compared to the 2.5-ounce original size), 'bullet' shape product.

The collaboration with Nickelodeon marks the first licensed line extension for Chloe’s Pops, which was founded by mom-to-be Chloe Epstein in 2014, as an alternative to frozen treats packed with sugar and artificial ingredients. The brand began as a retail location in NYC prior to branching into consumer packaged goods.

For Epstein, the brand's kids line extension is a fulfillment of the original mission she had when launching Chloe's CPG Pops back in 2014. As a mom of young kids, Epstein was always searching for a clean label treat with simple ingredients that weren't loaded with artificial ingredients, but felt dismayed at the options available.


Partnering with Nickelodeon will help Chloe's better reach a new target consumer audience of young kids.

“Who better to capture kids’ attention than the number-one entertainment brand for children?,” commented Epstein.

"For me, the kids part of this is why we started the business: to offer clean, exciting options that kids could enjoy and parents could feel excited about,"​ Epstein told FoodNavigator-USA. Chloe's saw a hole in the market for pops that appeal to a younger age group (aged 2-6), addressing the market need by creating a smaller version that kids could finish in one sitting.

"We were getting a lot of feedback that kids love our pops, but for the younger ones they were not able to finish them," Epstein added.

Chloe’s Debuts Dairy-Free Dark Chocolate Dipped and Kid-Focused Pops

NEW YORK— At this year’s Natural Products Expo West, Chloe’s — the mom-founded, leading frozen snack brand famous for making frozen pops with just fruit, water and cane sugar — announced its dip into decadence with the launch of its new Dairy-Free Dark Chocolate Dipped Pops. The brand will also introduce its first kid-focused line of fruit pops, featuring popular Nickelodeon characters.

Chloe’s first gained national attention when it launched into retail markets in 2014 and has grown significantly with distribution in over 13,000 top stores nationwide, including Kroger, Albertsons/Safeway and Publix. With a mission to provide delicious fruit pops made with clean, simple ingredients, Chloe’s has introduced nine fruit varieties, including stand-outs like Mango and Dark Chocolate and new comers such as Blueberry and Cold-Pressed Coffee featuring the coffee from La Colombe Coffee Roasters, a partnership that stemmed from its participation in the Chobani Incubator.

Due to an overwhelming consumer demand for indulgent food with a clean ingredient panel, Chloe’s developed a decadent spinoff to its classically clean fruit pops with the Dairy-Free Dark Chocolate Dipped line, a product offering that Chloe Epstein, the brand’s co-founder, describes as “permissible indulgence.” Each pop has only 120 calories and the line includes: Banana Dipped, Strawberry Dipped and a special Dark Chocolate Dipped with organic quinoa puffs for that crave-worthy crunch. The Dipped Pop line is currently available at over 3,000 retailers nationwide, and one box containing four 2.5 oz. pops is priced at $4.99 – $6.49.

Chloe’s goal to provide better-for-you, accessible snacking choices for children is what drew the brand to collaborate with Nickelodeon. “My vision for Chloe’s was always to provide exciting and delicious options with simple ingredients that I, as a Mom, could feel great about feeding to my kids and, at the same time, know they would love,” said Epstein. “Who better to capture kids’ attention than the number-one entertainment brand for children?” Still made with the same simple ingredients: fruit, water and cane sugar, the new line of 40 calorie pops includes a Blueberry-Banana combination featuring Thomas & Friends and a Strawberry-Mango blend with new favorite character, Sunny Day. The line will launch in Walmart, Shoprite and other retailers nationwide Spring 2019, and a box with 10 of the 1.5oz pops is priced at $3.98 – $6.99.

Instead, they learn that their fed-up friends and family have shipped them off for a personality makeover from Dr. Michelle Callahan (The Tyra Banks Show) and Yoanna House (America's Next Top Model). The mean girl who is able to turn it around the most wins $25,000.

The Queen Bees were Stassi Schroeder, Gisbelle Castillo, Michelle Madonna, Shavon Booney, Kiana Jenkins and Camille Lopez, with Gisbelle being named the winner and donating her winning money to Para Los Niños, the charity they visited in the show.

Queen Bees aired for eight episodes over one season July 11 – August 29, 2008 on The N, the predecessor of TeenNick.
