This year, Nickelodeon Australia built upon over 20 years' experience of award-winning local productions with a brand new six part kids reality series, SLIME CUP, which featured more kids, slime and challenges than ever before in the history of Nickelodeon Australia!

SLIME CUP combines all the elements which kids have loved in long-standing properties such as Camp Orange and SLIMEFEST, taking slime to new heights. The series is the most comprehensive multiplatform production series in Nickelodeon Australia's history, featuring specialised games and exclusive short-form content on Nick’s digital and social platforms.

For SLIME CUP 2016, hosted by local presenter Kristy Best (Neighbours) and international host Kel Mitchell (Game Shakers, Kenan & Kel, All That, Good Burger), Nickelodeon searched for the toughest kids from across Australia and New Zealand. Thousands of slime-loving kids entered to compete in the craziest, most slime-soaked TV show ever... but only 16 of the most mighty teams were chosen to compete in the slimy games for a chance to win the ultimate prize - Slime Brothers, Wadding Ducks, Slime Sisters, Bubbly Banana Girls, Double Threat, Kooky Cousins (wildcard), Regular Bros (wildcard), Dynamite Divas, Team Tissue Box, Soccer Skilled Slimers, Slime Patrol, Daring Divas, Cuckoo Coconuts, Boss Besties, Besties In Braids (wildcard) and Mini Blacks (wildcard)!

In a series of larger than life challenges, the teams were put to the test on their speed, strength and stomachs to determine who had what it took to win, with the most mighty team taking out the 2016 SLIME CUP and winning the ultimate title as the Guardians of Slime at SLIMEFEST 2016! To turn up the thrill factor, viewers at home could vote for the most epic moments from the show each week, send shout outs to their favourite teams, and have the chance to win awesome prize packs every week!

The series premiere of SLIME CUP on Friday 1st July 2016 at 5.30pm was watched by a record audience of kids aged between 5 – 9 years, making it the highest new series launch on the Nickelodeon Network in the past two years (2015 – 2016)!

Week by week, teams were eliminated from the slimy contest, until only two teams remained - the Mini Blacks and the Double Threat. In the final stage of SLIME CUP 2016, which took place at Wet'n'Wild on the Gold Coast, both teams have proved worthy winners, but only one lucky pair of besties can be crowned the winners of SLIME CUP 2016 and be Nickelodeon's Guardians of Slime at SLIMEFEST 2016, and that team is...

Double Threat!!!

Upon being crowned the winners of SLIME CUP 2016, team Double Threat received the highest Nickelodeon honour from Nickelodeon's elite Slime Corps - a world famous Nickelodeon sliming!

Following the mega success of SLIME CUP 2016, Nickelodeon Australia has announced the aweslime news that Nickelodeon's brand new reality series will be back next year for SLIME CUP 2017!
