The five new rides that are currently in the works for Nickelodeon Universe, which opened in October 2019, are a Samba Tower, Crazy Bus, Happy Swing, Speed Way and Tea Cup. All five rides are understood to be in their engineering review stages.

Not much information about the rides, including which Nickelodeon shows they will be themed after, is currently available.

A Bubble Guppies "Samba Tower" ride called the "Bubble Guppies Guppy Bubbler" opened at Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America in 2015. Manufactured by Zamperla, the "Samba Tower" features eight of Zamperla’s signature balloon gondolas, and offers a spectacular view of the midway or park. The attraction is billed as the "perfect centerpiece for any family area". A high impact and high capacity ride in a small footprint, the Samba Tower can accommodate 32 children and adults. A six gondola version is also available.

The news comes as Nickelodeon Universe at American Dream is preparing to reopen on Thursday, October 1, 2020 following being closed for several months due to the on-going COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Guests will need to follow strict health and safety protocols, including mandatory face coverings and physical distancing.

A new ride called Flip Zone, however, has been taken out of operation by state inspectors because it wasn’t functioning correctly. “Once the necessary fixes are released from DCA’s engineering review, the ride will need another inspection before it is put back in operation,” a DCA spokesperson said.

All 25 of Nickelodeon Universe’s original rides have been approved to open, a state Department of Community Affairs spokesperson told NJ.com.

Prices for Nickelodeon Universe tickets have been reduced by about $20 from pre-COVID prices and are now based on the age of the guest. Guests over the age of 10 will pay $59, those who are 3 to 9 years old pay $55 and it’s $49 for those over 65. Prices used to vary based on weekday or weekend and access to all the rides or just the tamer ones. Peak pricing was $79.99.
