'SpongeBob SquarePants' and 'Hey Duggee' Win Big At The 2018 British Academy Children's Awards

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced the exciting news that Nickelodeon's hit original animated series (Nicktoon) SpongeBob SquarePants won the best 'International Animation' accolade in this years Children's BAFTA Awards, British Academy Children's Awards 2018, which honours the very best in children's media!


Nickelodeon picked up the award at the prestigious 2018 British Academy Children's Awards ceremony hosted by Marvin and Rochelle Humes at the Roundhouse in London on Sunday 25th November 2018.

In addition to SpongeBob SquarePants, the popular animated preschool series Hey Duggee (Studio AKA/CBeebies), which airs on Nick Jr. USA, also picked up three awards at the ceremony, including for best 'Pre-School - Animation' series. The show was also victorious in the digital category for its companion app Hey Duggee: The Counting Badge (Scary Beasties/BBC Studios/Studio AKA), while Grant Orchard took home the award for best director.
