UK-Irish Boy Band 'One Direction' Celebrate Their Nickelodeon Success With A Trip To 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark' Musical On NYC's Broadway

One Direction celebrate Nickelodeon success with a trip to see Spiderman

Pop group Big Time Rush Performs at Nickelodeon's upfront event.
As the lads get set to embark on an exciting TV venture, they celebrated their US success with a show on Broadway.

Life couldn't get much better for Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson at the moment as the boys continue to take the US by storm.

Their album, Up All Night, has been number one and two (thanks to a deluxe edition taking the top spot) in the American iTunes album chart and they are on course to make history as the first UK band to top the US Billboard album chart with their debut record.

Fresh from appearing on Nickelodeon show iCarly, the heartthrobs have made such an impact across the pond, they have landed their own show on the hit children's channel.

Nickelodeon confirmed the news on Twitter, writing: "The rumours are true.

"Our live-action slate does include a development project for One Direction. Welcome to the family!"

To celebrate their incredible success, the lads enjoyed a well deserved day off and set about exploring some of New York’s top attractions, including a show on Broadway.

Harry Styles Tweeted: “Just watched Spiderman on Broadway..was rather enjoyable. I wouldn't mind one of the suits but they're quite tight...bit risky.” We’re sure the female fans wouldn’t mind...

On Wednesday, Zayn Malik summed up just how far the band have come when he Tweeted: “This time 2 years ago I was auditioning for the @thexfactor in Manchester.. I can't believe all this has happened since!”

While Katy Perry, Justin Bieber and Gary Barlow are amongst the famous faces who have congratulated 1D on their success, perhaps the most meaningful message of all came from their boss, and the man who saw something special in the young group, Mr Simon Cowell, who recently Tweeted: “I'm very very very very excited about the launch of the @onedirection album in the US. Good luck boys!” He must be very proud.

The "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" theatre show is a rock musical based on the popular comic book hero Spider-Man, and is currently playing New York City's Foxwoods Theatre on Broadway. You can visit the official "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" website at SpiderManOnBroadway.Marvel.com
