Nickelodeon Announces Ottawa International Animation Festival 2015 Program

The Nickelodeon Animation Studio has announced the exciting news in a post on their official Tumblr blog that the Nickelodeon Talent Outreach team will be at Ottawa International Animation Festival 2015 this week!


From Wednesday 16th to Sunday 20th September 2015, downtown Ottawa is the stage where you can enjoy the world's most cutting-edge, thoughtful, funny and provocative animation films while mingling with many of animation's most celebrated stars, studios and characters.

Whether you love classic cartoons, mind-bending experiments, fantastic digital creations, dazzling effects, technical fireworks, thought provoking observations, or pure gut-busting fun, there is something for everyone and anyone at the Ottawa International Animation Festival (OlAF).

For 39 years, the OlAF has attracted film and animation buffs, art lovers and filmmakers from around the globe. You won't want to miss this year's exciting line-up of screenings, workshops, panels and parties taking place at the ByTowne Cinema, National Gallery of Canada, Arts Court, Saint Brigid's Centre for the Arts, and the Chateau Laurier.

ART+BIZ Day Hosted by Nickelodeon


Friday, September 18

Laurier Room - Château Laurier - Fairmont Chateau Laurier

Join indie comic book artist and "Pig Goat Banana Cricket" co-creator and co-executive producer Dave Cooper, composer David Burns and songwriter and lyricist Matt Ouimet for an inside look at the fantastical world and musical stylings of Nickelodeon's latest hit-animated series. The trio will also give attendees a special musical treat by performing original songs from the show!

In addition, Elly Kramer, Senior Director- Production and Development, Nickelodeon Preschool Television, and Linda Beck, Producer and Development Scout, will be conducting Ongoing Portfolio Reviews and want to meet you! (First come, first served. Sign-up at the Check-in area.)

Attendees will also have the chance to mix and mingle with Nickelodeon artists, creators, delegates and other filmmakers.

Nickelodeon: The Journey from Shorts to Series

Join Nickelodeon's "The Loud House" creator and executive producer Chris Savino and "Pinky Malinky" co-creators and co-executive producers Chris Garbutt & Rikke Asbjoern, as they give attendees a behind-the-scenes look at their journey from developing an animated short into a full series. The group will describe their creative process and showcase original work from these upcoming Nickelodeon shows!

The Nickelodeon Global Animated Shorts Program provides an opportunity for creative talent from around the world to generate original short-form content for kids. Through this program, Nickelodeon had not only created an exciting group of shorts, but has also found the first of the networks next big Nickelodeon animated series.

Additionally, Joanna Leitch, Development Coordinator, Nickelodeon, will be a panellist on Pitch THIS! at OIAF 2015 on Thursday 17th September 2015 between 4:00pm and 5:15 pm.
