Mexico's Televisa Acquires 400 Hours of Nickelodeon Content

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has extended a deal with Mexico's Televisa for 400 hours of popular Nickelodeon titles as part of various sales closed ahead of NATPE!


Through the deal, Televisa will now air seasons one and two of Harvey Beaks, the first season of Pig Goat Banana Cricket and the first three seasons of Penguins of Madagascar, plus live-action shows such as season one of Game Shakers, Henry Danger, Bella and the Bulldogs, season two of Max & Shred, seasons one and two of Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, and the third season of The Thundermans.

Televisa also went for the fifth, sixth and seventh seasons of MTV's Ridiculousness. Telenica in Nicaragua also picked up MTV titles, among them the second seasons of Faking It, Are You the One? and Ex on the Beach, alongside the first three seasons of Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer and more than 40 hours of South Park. The network additionally acquired the first season of Spike's Lip Sync Battle.


In additional news, Nickelodeon Latin America's hit teen telenovela Grachi has landed in Spain on Mediaset EspaƱa's Divinity!

The series will air on Divinity Monday through Friday at 7pm. Created by Nickelodeon Latin America and shot on location in Miami, the show follows a young girl who must learn to use her new-found magical powers while coping with school, boys and growing up.

Grachi, which is distributed by Comarex, has been sold to more than 50 countries including Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela, as well as 36 French-speaking territories including France, Belgium and Switzerland. The novela has also been adapted into the English-language Every Witch Way for Nickelodeon USA and it's international channels.

On the formats front, Canadian producer QuebeComm acquired Comedy Central's Drunk History and the MTV game show Say It In Song for French-speaking audiences.


In related VIMN news, Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has launched Comedy Central Australia as a brand-new digital channel! The comedy website will feature satirical editorial by comedian Cyrus Bezyan, who has been hired as digital editor, and specially created short-form content from Australian comedy talent, as well as clips of some international content including The Daily Show, Broad City, Key & Peele, Workaholics, South Park, Inside Amy Schumer and more. Throughout the year, comedycentral.com.au is set to launch local video content featuring Aussie comedians, YouTube stars, sketch groups and live comedy events. The first official commission scheduled for early 2016 is the Australian absurdist sketch group, Aunty Donna. The Melbourne based trio consisting of Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly and Zachary Ruane have performed at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Melbourne Fringe Festival. Newly appointed digital editor, Cyrus Bezyan, will oversee editorial for the website with Joshua Duncan appointed as Comedy Central digital manager, both reporting into Simon Bates, head of MTV & Comedy Central, Australia & New Zealand. The local Comedy Central team will operate out of the VIMN headquarters in East Sydney. MCN will be managing advertising sales for the Comedy Central website alongside other VIMN brands in Australia.
