"SpongeBob SquarePants" Meets "Mad Men": See Jon Hamm As Don Grouper

He sold suitcases, cereal and more with a smile, but Don Draper never got a bite of the elusive Krabby Patties account – until now!

Update: Added Nickelodeon's official press release announcing the Sponge-Tastic news.

The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor Jon Hamm will be sending up his most iconic gig on a brand-new episode of SpongeBob SquarePants, set to premiere on Nickelodeon USA next month, voicing the smart, charming, and literally fishy ad exec Don Grouper, whose firm is hired by Mr. Krabs to help sell his frozen Krabby Patties. Below, check out the trailer for the half-hour special, “Goodbye, Krabby Patty?,” via Entertainment Weekly, which reimagines Mad Men‘s falling-Don opening credits in the Sponge-verse. The special, the official 200th episode of SpongeBob SquarePants, airs Monday 20th February 2017 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Nick USA.

Even in animated form, Don Draper causes trouble wherever he goes. But that smile just makes it so hard to hate him…. In a statement, Nickelodeon said that Grouper is so charismatic that “when Don’s in the room, everyone laps up his words like overpriced organic honey.”

And if you had any doubts that you needed a Mad Men parody from SpongeBob, the video up above featuring a recreation of the Mad Men opening credits should put that to rest.

Since Mad Men ended, Hamm has popped up on The Last Man on Earth, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, and Angie Tribeca. He stars in the AI drama Marjorie Prime, which premiered at Sundance.

SpongeBob SquarePants - which debuted in 1999 and stands as the network’s longest-running animated series — has recently featured vocal contributions from such celebrities as Betty White, Aubrey Plaza, Bob Barker, and Henry Winkler.

The Emmy Award-winning actor lends his voice as the sharp-witted and devastatingly charming Grouper, who has a big plan for the Krabby Patty that may prove irresistible, even to the impervious Mr. Krabs. In the episode, Mr. Krabs manufactures Krabby Patties on an industrial scale, but it drives a wedge between SpongeBob and Patrick.

The “President’s Day Weekend Krabby Patty Party” kicks off on Saturday, Feb. 18, and will feature a marathon of episodes and brand-new SpongeBob content, including original videos, premiering on-air and online. Beginning Feb. 13, fans can play an all-new game, SpongeBob SquarePants Cartoon Creator, where users can create interactive cartoon strips starring their very own SpongeBob-style avatars on Nick.com and the Nick App.

Additionally, the Krusty Krab Facebook page is running as a real-life restaurant operated by Mr. Krabs. Throughout the month, the page will be populated with advertisements, including Bikini Bottom press releases, in-store only offers, and Facebook exclusives, all leading up to the release of a brand new product featured in the episode, Frozen Krabby Patty. The social celebration peaks Feb. 13, with a week-long "Krabby Patty Takeover" on the SpongeBob SquarePants Facebook Page.

Immediately following the “Goodbye, Krabby Patty?” episode, viewers can watch a sneak peek of the new series, Bunsen is a Beast, from animation veteran Butch Hartman (The Fairly OddParents) at 7:30p.m. (ET/PT).
