Job Description:

SUMMARY

Provide creative and logistical support across projects in development and in production with Nickelodeon’s International Production & Development team.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

- SVP, International Production & Development
- Senior Director Animation, International Production & Development
- Manager, Animation Production and Development

Production Duties

- Displaying strong editorial capacity across all animated productions ensuring quality upholds our brand values

- Distribute materials and coordinate notes across assigned production projects

- Update Snr Director on any issues with production and use foresight to pre-empt potential issues

- Track delivery of production materials and ensure that delivery schedules are kept

- Read/watch all incoming materials and deliverables, contributing notes

- Potentially manage a production (or productions) where appropriate

Development Duties

- Ensuring that each project fulfils its obligations to the network and our ongoing needs

- Unearthing new talent (script writers, illustrators, studios, producers) who would be ideal partners on shows/concepts

- With support from the Snr Director, negotiating contracts and deal terms with creative talent/new hires

- Assisting the Snr Director in putting together and managing the strongest creative teams across all projects

- Presenting and pitching new and interesting concepts to Snr Director

- Managing some elements of Outreach (eg. International Shorts Program)

Talent Tracking & Outreach

- With support from Snr Director; taking charge of animation outreach for International

- Find new animation talent from around the world and solicit pitches for shorts or series across Nickelodeon and Nick Jr.

- Find new writing talent and solicit pitches across all our genres

- Build relationships with agents and increase our reach as a network

- Attend UK animation festivals and comedy events where relevant

- Initial outreach and encouraging creatives to pitch

- Reviewing and shortlisting pitches; completing coverage

- Drawing up deals and contracts for new projects with support from Snr Director

- Managing the ongoing shorts program; coordinating development of short across design, script and animatic stages

- Arrange all payments and track costs and budgets with support from Snr Director

- Reviewing New Material and Coverage

- Establishing self as a key point of contact for external creative; maintaining on-going external relationships

- Managing submissions and providing feedback on new submissions

- Meeting Literary agents and reviewing relevant client material

- Meeting publishers to discuss new books and possible development

- Providing comprehensive coverage where necessary
