Andamiro USA Unveils 'SpongeBob Soccer Stars' Arcade Game

GARDENA, CA -- Andamiro USA has unveiled SpongeBob Soccer Stars, the company's latest application of modern technology to classic arcade-game play!

ANDAMIRO USA CORP. - SPONGEBOB SOCCER STARS

Andamiro USA president, sales Drew Maniscalco explained that the new single-player game incorporates the same lever-driven ball launching system as is used in Andamiro's Baseball Pro series. The apparatus was inspired by the mechanical pitch-and-bat arcade games popular in the 1950s.

"With Baseball Pro, it's the bat," Maniscalco reported. "In our soccer application, it's SpongeBob kicking the ball." He added that the baseball machines have proven their popularity and reliability over more than a year of service, and the company expects equally dependable performance from SpongeBob Soccer Stars.

Gameplay is simple, intuitive and designed to appeal to all ages. The player is invited to assume the role of Nickelodeon's incurably optimistic sea sponge, SpongeBob, pulling the lever back and timing its release as the ball rolls down the delivery track.

"With SpongeBob as the offensive kicker, or attacking player, it made sense for Andamiro's designers to put Squidward in the goal, and the ill-tempered Bikini Bottom inhabitant's six arms make for a great goalie," the Andamiro executive said.

The object of the game is to score as many goals as possible in a given time. Players who score 15 goals win the big bonus. A scoreboard displays goals, time and tickets won; a second display on the playfield keeps track of bonus data.

The SpongeBob Soccer cabinet measures 34 ins. wide, 40.2 inches deep and 90.1 inches high. The game supports coin, banknote and swipe-card payment systems as well as ticket dispensers. Nickelodeon-approved voices complement the sound package, and the iconic SpongeBob SquarePants theme is carried through in the colorful cabinet design.

SpongeBob Soccer Stars is Andamiro's third amusement machine title adapted from Nickelodeon's hit animated TV series SpongeBob SquarePants, and the factory's fourth Nickelodeon license. As of 2015, the TV franchise has made $12 billion in merchandising revenue.
