SMILES AND STYLES SAVE THE DAY IN SUNNY DAY,

NICKELODEON’S BRAND-NEW ANIMATED PRESCHOOOL SERIES,

PREMIERING FRIDAY 2ND MARCH 2018 ON NICK JR. UK & IRELAND

UK– Preschoolers will be smiling and styling with Sunny and her friends in Nickelodeon's brand-new animated series, Sunny Day, premiering Friday 2nd March 2018 at 6.00pm on Nick Jr. UK & Ireland! The series (40 episodes) centres on Sunny, a 10-year-old master hairstylist and entrepreneur who uses creative problem-solving to tackle any dilemma that arises in her seaside town of Friendly Falls. The characters in the series celebrate individuality and self-expression, while the show’s social-emotional curriculum highlights leadership, innovative thinking and teamwork. Following the series launch, new episodes of Sunny Day will air regularly every Friday at 6:00pm on Nick Jr. UK & Ireland.

Sunny is a confident and creative natural leader who runs her own hair salon in the town of Friendly Falls. When adventure calls, Sunny sets out to save the day with her can-do attitude, salon-on-the-go Glam Van, best friends and colleagues, Rox and Blair, and her dog Doodle. Each episode of Sunny Day features a unique digital extension where kids and their parents can watch fun, live-action hairstyle tutorials that are tied directly to the hairstyles featured in each episode and narrated by Sunny.

Update (1/3): To celebrate Nick Jr. UK & Ireland starting to premiere Sunny Day on Friday 2nd March 2018 at 6.00pm, Nick Jr. has made the very first episode of Sunny Day available to watch in full for free on nickjr.co.uk and the brand-spanking new Nick Jr. Play app, available to download on iOS and Android, ahead of its TV debut!

In Sunny Day’s season premiere, “Stick With Me,” Rox and Blair accidentally get stuck together with sticky hairspray, and it’s up to Sunny to help them work together to get unstuck and save the day.

Then, in "The Topi-Hairy Contest", premiering Friday 9th March 2018 at 6pm, Sunny enters the annual topiary tree sculpting contest, but when her entry is sabotaged - twice - by Lacey, she uses her skills to create a brand new kind of art!

Each episode of Sunny Day will also feature a unique digital extension where kids and their parents can watch fun, live-action hairstyle tutorials that are tied directly to each storyline and narrated by Sunny.

The UK version of Sunny Day will feature a localised dub.

Sunny Day Developed and produced by Silvergate Media (Peter Rabbit).

Nickelodeon recently greenlit Sunny Day for a 20 episode second season, and will launch a wide range of Sunny Day merchandise and the Sunny Day Tour in the US beginning Spring 2018.

Sunny Day made its world debut on Nickelodeon USA in August 2017, and is currently rolling out on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. channels worldwide.
