Nickelodeon USA to Premiere 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' (2005) on Monday 3rd August 2018

Nickelodeon USA will host the network premiere of the blockbuster movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) on Monday 3rd August 2018 at 8:00 P.M. (ET/PT)!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a family adventure directed by Tim Burton (Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice 2, Batman Returns, Lost in Oz, The Nightmare Before Christmas) and based on the beloved novel by Roald Dahl. The film centres around an eccentric candy maker, Willy Wonka (Johnny Depp, SpongeBob SquarePants), and Charlie Bucket (Freddie Highmore, The Spiderwick Chronicles), a good-hearted boy from a poor family who lives in the shadow of Wonka's extraordinary factory. Most nights in the Bucket home, dinner is a watered-down bowl of cabbage soup, which young Charlie gladly shares with his mother (Helena Bonham Carter, Harry Potter) and father (Noah Taylor) and both pairs of grandparents. They all live in a tiny, tumbledown, drafty old house but it is filled with love.

Every night, the last thing Charlie sees from his window is the great factory, and he drifts off to sleep dreaming about what might be inside. For nearly fifteen years, no one has seen a single worker going in or coming out of the factory, or caught a glimpse of Willy Wonka himself, yet, mysteriously, great quantities of chocolate are still being made and shipped to shops all over the world. One day Willy Wonka makes a momentous announcement. He will open his famous factory and reveal 'all of its secrets and magic' to five lucky children who find golden tickets hidden inside five randomly selected Wonka chocolate bars.

When Charlie finds some money on the snowy street and takes it to the nearest store for a Wonka Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight he finds a golden ticket. The family decides that Grandpa Joe (David Kelly, 2point4 Children) should be the one to accompany Charlie on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Once inside, Charlie and his fellow contest winners - Augustus Gloop (Philip Wiegratz), a gluttonous German boy; Veruca Salt (Julia Winter, Dick and Dom in da Bungalow), a very spoiled English girl; Violet Beauregarde (AnnaSophia Robb, Drake & Josh, Danny Phantom), a competitive gum chewer, and Mike Teavee (Jordan Fry), an arrogant television and video game addict - are treated to a magical and mysterious tour of the factory, getting dazzled by one amazing sight after another. However, not everything is as it seems. Aided by his diminutive Oompa Loompa workers (Deep Roy, Doctor Who), Wonka has a hidden motivation for the tour, one that he will reveal only after the children in the group show their true colors. Also featuring a special appearance from horror legend Christopher Lee as Dr. Wonka. A remake of the beloved 1971 classic Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, starring Gene Wilder.
