NEW YORK—Dec. 21, 2018— Nickelodeon will debut its brand-new digital short-form series Drop That Seat, a new twist on the classic concept of musical chairs, exclusively on Nickelodeon’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, Jan. 1, at 10 a.m. (ET). Drop That Seat is a live-action game show that combines real kids, physical competition and a full-blown dance party. Created and executive produced by Nick Cannon, the series is hosted by Daniella Perkins (Knight Squad) and Kida the Great (So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation). As part of the work of Viacom Digital Studios, Drop That Seat is Nickelodeon’s first original short-form series, and new episodes will post regularly on Fridays at 10 a.m. (ET) on Nick’s YouTube channel.

Drop That Seat is a competition series inspired by iconic dance moves and filled with unique twists, turns and challenges, as kid contestants dance and race to a chair once the music stops. The winning team will receive cash and music-themed prizes.

Cannon currently serves as host of Nickelodeon’s Lip Sync Battle Shorties, which will enter its second season on Friday, Jan. 4, at 7 p.m. (ET/PT). He also hosts Nick Cannon Presents: Fresh Artist, showcasing today’s hottest emerging recording artists from his NCredible Studio, premiering Saturdays at 11 a.m. (ET/PT) beginning Jan. 19 on TeenNick.

Drop That Seat is created and executive produced by Nick Cannon of NCredible Entertainment. Jay Peterson and Todd Lubin’s Matador Content serve as producers, alongside Elizabeth Kelly who also serves as showrunner and executive producer.
