If you love gorgeous pixel art, videogame-inspired settings and African made cartoons, Nickelodeon International's brand-new short-form series MooseBox is the show for you!

MooseBox (20 x 90 seconds) follows the adventures of Moose and CatBox, two best friends who need each other to play, explore and survive a video game world called The Cube.

Created by South African animation director Mike Scott, MooseBox is one of the first short-form series to come out of Nickelodeon's world renowned Global Animated Shorts Program. Nickelodeon International greenlit the series for development in October 2017, and made it's world premiere on the Nicktoons channel in Africa in September 2018.

The original pilot below – which was produced by the well-known Cape Town studio Triggerfish Animation – was made for Nickelodeon International Animated Shorts Program 2013-14, and has been available to watch online for more than three years as part of Nickelodeon's Global Animated Shorts Program showcase. While Triggerfish handled the pilot, Johannesburg studio Mind’s Eye Creative is behind the series.

If you’d like to know more about MooseBox, make sure to check out Scott’s personal blog which also talks about voice acting talent from New York and the fact that he first came up with the idea way back in 2013!
