Nickelodeon USA to Premiere New 'LEGO Jurassic World' Special 'Double Trouble' in August 2020

Get set to return to Jurassic World in the brand new multi-part LEGO® Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar special, "Double Trouble", premiering this August on Nickelodeon USA!

In the special, Cedric Masrani will join his brother Simon in running Jurassic World, with the pair’s fractious relationship reflected by the two Indominus Rex babies that Dr Wu hatches. It will be up the two brothers along with Owen and Claire to track down the escaped baby dinosaurs and, as usual, avert disaster on the Jurassic World island. From what the trailer shows, it seems there will be plenty of other dino mayhem to complicate things.

"Two dinosaurs are better than one...unless they prey on humans! Can the Jurassic World team get these twin dinosaurs under control?" reads the special's official synopsis.

The first part of the all new LEGO® Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar special, "Double Trouble - Part 1" (#997) will premiere on Nick on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. (ET/PT), with "Double Trouble - Part 2" (#996) airing the following week, Sunday, August 30 at 9:00 a.m. (ET/PT).

The special is also set to stream on Peacock Kids.

Double Trouble: Part 1: Losing Control: The new artificial intelligence running the park goes dangerously off the rails; a thief posing as an intern steals two eggs that contain a new species of dinosaur.

Double Trouble: Part 2: Owen scrambles to shut down O.O.P.S.I. before it can do real damage; Claire and the others hunt the escaped twin dinosaurs.

The short looks to be another fun, non-canonical adventure set in the LEGO Jurassic World universe – and, by the looks of it, it may follow the events of Legends of Isla Nublar. Whilst the show itself doesn’t appear to be too different from the other LEGO adventures we have already received, it does appear to introduce some of the LEGO Jurassic World sets we received this year into the animated world – something which is exciting in it’s own right as it is always great for fans to get to see products they have in collections on the big screen.

In the trailer we can see the new version of Owen Grady in his tan attire which came in the sets, as well as the brand new capture vehicle from the Gallimimus and Pteranodon set which released this year. This does call into question whether we could see more of the new sets – such as the Laboratory set, or even the Gyrosphere Valley section, in the animated show too. Plus a LEGO Baby Ankylosaurus on screen could rival Bumpy-levels of cuteness in its own regard!

The news comes as the CG-animated LEGO® Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar series starts to roll out onto Nickelodeon channels globally, including Turkey and Asia.
