Is Jimmy Neutron coming to Fortnite? Here’s the answer
Rumors that Jimmy Neutron, the titular character of Nickelodeon's hit noughties movie and animated series was coming to Fortnite have been circulating on Twitter.
It comes after an account user posted a concept of Jimmy Neutron that closely resembled a Fortnite-style character.
The tweet went viral, amassing over 70,000 likes with many fans of the show believing that a Jimmy Neutron skin was on its way in current season of the game.
Given Fortnite’s slate of past collaborations including Nickelodeon (Are You Afraid of the Dark?: The Carnival of Doom), Marvel and DC, this crossover was unexpected but seemed quite possible and many players expressed their excitement.
So, will there be a Jimmy Neutron skin?
The short answer is no.
Twitter user @StinkyBlueRat, who was the initial source of the rumour, admitted that it was a prank.
The image they posted that got everyone talking is actually of a mock-up created in April 2020 by artist Nazar Noschenko, who tweeted at the time that it was his take on Jimmy Neutron, adding: "Had a lot of fun interpreting the original design."
So, as of now Jimmy Neutron is not coming to Fortnite. However, it can’t be discounted as a future possibility given Epic Games’ interest in collaborations. It’s likely that developers are aware of this rumour and the concept art behind it, and it might lead them to create a skin as well.
Who is Jimmy Neutron?
The hit Nickelodeon show from the late 1990s and early 2000s revolved around Jimmy Neutron, a young boy from Texas who is a scientific genius, his two friends Sheen and Carl. The trio was often going on adventures with fancy gadgets and getting themselves into all sorts of predicaments. The show ran for 61 episodes across three seasons and ended in 2006, and was followed up by
