Ghostbusters: Answer the Call's Chris Hemsworth Shares Throwback Photo to First Acting Role as King Arthur on Nickelodeon UK

Marvel star Chris Hemsworth is best-known these days for being a major part of the Thor and Avengers films, as well as Kevin the not-too-bright receptionist on Ghostbusters: Answer the Call and Netflix's original movie Extraction, but back in the day he was earning his stripes on Australian TV.

Long time fans of the actor will know that he was in both Home and Away and Neighbours, but this week the actor took us back to his first ever on-screen role via his Instagram: playing King Arthur in Aussie/Canadian kids fantasy series Guinevere Jones. The show focused on the titular character as she fought evil and dealt with challenges of high school.

"Throw back Thursday to my first ever gig," he wrote. "When I first put this beautiful wig on I knew one of two things would happen, I'd be forced to grow my hair out and dye it red due to massive public fan fare or I'd never work again.

"Neither was true. Life's funny that way."

The show aired on Australia's Network Ten, Canada's YTV and on Nickelodeon in the U.K. in the early-to-mid noughties, and looking at the intro sequence, it might just be one of the most early-to-mid noughties things I've seen in a while.

Chris' appearance in the series was somewhat brief, appearing in just two of the 26 episodes.

Chris will be appearing as the God of Thunder again in Thor: Love of Thunder next year, which will also see Natalie Portman's Jane Foster return and wield the mighty hammer.

Amusingly, Hemsworth recently admitted he thought he had been written out of the MCU because he wasn't in Captain America: Civil War, which was essentially Avengers 2.5.

Thor: Love and Thunder has a release date of July 8, 2022.

Unfortunately, we may not see Chris Answer the Call in a sequel to the 2016 Ghostbusters film for quite some time.
