ViacomCBS Int'l Unveils New leadership Team for Central and Northern Europe and Asia as Company Focuses on Streaming and Regional Growth

ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) is actively advancing its strategy to accelerate the global expansion of its streaming business and establish a strong ecosystem of free and paid offerings for streaming and linear television, and has appointed Mark Specht as Executive Vice President (EVP) for Central & Northern Europe and Asia (CNA).

Mark Specht

Mark Specht thus expands his area of responsibility to include other important markets, including the Benelux countries, the Scandinavian countries, Russia and the CIS countries, as well as Asia. Specht has held various management positions with VCNI since 2010, most recently as General Manager (GM) for Germany and Central Europe. He continues to report directly to Raffaele Annecchino, President & CEO of VCNI.

"I am very excited to take on this new role. As a leading global media company, we have immense opportunities with our streaming business, our growing studio and production capabilities in Europe and Asia, and our strong and vital linear business. We are creating a dynamic ecosystem with great, diverse teams consisting of top-notch experts, both professionally and personally, such as Sabine Anger, who leads the streaming part of the business, and Till Weidemüller, who takes responsibility for the German business," said Mark Specht, EVP CNA, VCNI.

VCNI has appointed Till Weidemüller as country manager for Germany and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) CNA. In his new, expanded role, Weidemüller will be responsible for the business in Germany and will work closely with Mark Specht in Central and Northern Europe and Asia. Weidemüller has held various leadership positions in finance, sales and operations at VCNI since 2013 and will continue to report directly to Mark Specht.

Till Weidemüller

"It is a pleasure to work with Mark and the new leadership team to build and develop a new, unique and powerful VCNI ecosystem of products and offerings in multiple markets in Europe and Asia. 2022 will also be a transformative year for our business in Germany, where we will further expand our FAST service Pluto TV and launch our new premium SVOD service Paramount+ later this year," said Till Weidemüller, Senior Vice President, Country Manager Germany and Chief Commercial Officer CNA, VCNI.

Sabine Anger

VCNI has also appointed a new streaming executive: Sabine Anger is now Senior Vice President (SVP), streaming CNA. She is deeply rooted in the streaming industry and has extensive international experience from leadership positions at ProSiebenSat.1, Vivendi/Watchever, Warner Music Group and T-Mobile/Deutsche Telekom. In her new role, Sabine Anger is responsible for the development and optimization of the streaming services Pluto TV and Paramount+ as well as for the entire streaming business in some of VCNI's key European and Asian markets. Sabine Anger was already a member of the Supervisory Board of Pluto TV during her time at ProSiebenSat.1, where she played a key role in monetizing the AVOD business. Sabine Anger is based in Berlin and reports to Mark Specht.

"With offerings like Paramount+ and Pluto TV, VCNI is a powerful media company with an impressive variety of content and a unique combination of FAST and SVOD streaming offerings. I'm excited to contribute to the company's evolution and further expand our streaming business, paving the way for further growth," said Sabine Anger, Senior Vice President Streaming CNA, VCNI.
