Nickelodeon Wins Raft of Awards in the 2023 Kidscreen Awards

Nickelodeon has received a raft of nominations in the 2023 Kidscreen Awards, which honors the best children's media over the last year!


Update (2/15/23) - Nickelodeon won a raft of awards in the 2023 Kidscreen Awards!:

The Tiny Chef Show (pictured) won the "Best Mixed-Media Series" and "Best Directing" awards in the "Preschool Programming" and "Creative Talent" categories, respectively;

- Miranda Cosgrove and Rob Gronkowski picked up the "Best On-Air Host or Hosting Team" award in the "Broadcasting" category for hosting the 2022 Kids’ Choice Awards;

- In the Digital-Preschool category, PAW Patrol Rescue World won the "Best Game App—Branded" award, whilst the Blue’s Clues & You YouTube channel won "Best YouTube Channel";

- Finally, Nickelodeon's Nickverse Roblox virtual world won "Best Game App—Branded" in the "Digital-Kids" category!

In the Preschool Programming category, The Tiny Chef Show (Imagine Kids+Family, Tiny Chef Show Productions, Factory, Nickelodeon Animation, Dunshire Productions) has been nominated for the "Best Mixed-Media Series" award.

Elsewhere in the category, the second season of JoJo & Gran Gran (BBC Children’s Productions, CBeebies), the first season of which airs on the Nick Jr. channel in the U.S., joins The Tiny Chef Show in the running for "Best Mixed-Media Series", and Thomas & Friends: Race for the Sodor Cup (Mattel Television, Nelvana Enterprises) has been nominated for the "Best One-Off, Special or TV Movie" award.

In the Kids Programming category, It’s Pony (Nickelodeon) garnered a nomination for "Best Animated Series", whilst Big Blue (Guru Studio, CBC Kids), which airs on Nickelodeon and Nicktoons in the U.K. and Ireland, has been nominated for 

In the Tweens/Teens Programming category, the Nickelodeon Slime Cup (Nickelodeon) golf-themed special has been nominated for "Best One-Off, Special or TV Movie".

In the Broadcasting category, Miranda Cosgrove, Rob Gronkowski have jointly been nominated for the "Best On-Air Host or Hosting Team" award for hosting the 2022 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

In the Digital-Preschool category, Nickelodeon has received four nominations: Blaze’s Amazing Race Through Time (Nickelodeon, YouTube) has been nominated for "Best Web/App Series—Branded", PAW Patrol Rescue World (Budge Studios, Nickelodeon) has been nominated for "Best Game App—Branded", the Blue’s Clues & You YouTube channel (Nick Jr.) has been nominated for "Best YouTube Channel", and On the Job: Astronaut (Noggin) has been nominated for the "Best Alternative Game" award.

Finally, Nickelodeon's Nickverse Roblox virtual world (Paramount Games, Dubit) has been nominated for "Best Game App—Branded" in the "Digital-Kids" category, alongside Super Spy Ryan (Ryan’s World, Amazon Kids+ Original Games, p.w. Games, Sunlight Entertainment, pocket.watch, Amber Studio), featuring Ryan's Mystery Playdate star Ryan Kaji.


The winners of Kidscreen Awards 2023 will be announced live at a special awards ceremony at Kidscreen Summit 2023 in Miami on Tuesday, February 14 that will be hosted by drag performers and child educators Fay Slift and Fluffy SoufflĂ©, who are featured in WildBrain Television’s The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy. Shortlisted entries in the Programming categories will be reviewed and assessed by a fresh panel of judges, including Rick Clodfelter (Disney Branded Television), Libbie Doherty (ABC Australia), Rafael Garcia (Disney Branded Television), Chris Hutchison (Disney Branded Television), Kate Morton (BBC Children’s), Sarah Muller (BBC Children’s), Lucy Murphy (Sky Kids), Zack Olin (Nickelodeon), Adriano Schmid (PBS KIDS), Vicky Schroderus (YLE Children), Heather Tilert (Netflix) and Kristofer Updike (NBCUniversal).

Shortlisted entries in the Digital categories will be judged in a final round by Jenny Gioia (Sesame Workshop), Marc Goodchild (IpDipSkyBlue), Beth Goss (Outright Games), Sunil Gundaria (Age of Learning), David Hutchinson (WildBrain Spark), Fredrik Loving (Spin Master), Lydia Mossahebi (BBC Children’s), Susanna Pollack (Games for Change), James Rubin (Hellosaurus) and Christine Thompson (Dark Slope).
