The Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) guild has announced the exciting news that Transformers: EarthSpark and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie have each received a nomination in the 70th annual Golden Reel Awards!
Nominees in the 70th annual Golden Reel Awards represent the contributions of sound artists around the world to the past year’s most outstanding feature film, television, animation, computer entertainment and student productions.
The two-part Transformers: EarthSpark episode "Age of Evolution," which premiered on Paramount+ and Nickelodeon channels globally during late-2022 has been nominated in the "Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Broadcast Animation" of this year's awards, whilst Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie, which bowed on Netflix in August last year, has been nominated in the "Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Non-theatrical Animation" category.
Update (2/28) - Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie won the Golden Reel award for "Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Non-theatrical Animation" at the 70th annual Golden Reel Awards!
This year’s award winners — including 2023 MPSE Filmmaker Award winner Jerry Bruckheimer and MPSE Career Achievement Award winner Gwendolyn Yates Whittle MPSE — will be celebrated at a ceremony held Sunday, February 26 at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles.
