Fresh from their lucrative deal with Paramount, South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker don’t seem inclined to pull any of their punches against the Trump administration.

Comedy Central announced Tuesday (July 29) that Season 27 won’t return for another episode this week and will pick up where things left off on Wednesday, August 6 (and next day on Paramount+). Whatever the reason for the break, it’s certainly not to give the POTUS time to cool off after the Season 27 premiere showed in him bed with Satan. In fact, it looks like they’ll be taking aim at Trump again in the upcoming second episode.
Teasing the continuation of Trump’s love affair with Satan, a promo for next week’s episode shows Trump flirting with Satan at a black tie dinner, stroking the devil’s leg under the table while someone on stage honors “the president’s courage.” Satan quickly slaps his hand away, telling him to quit it.
The episode also teases Cartman’s wrath at Bebe, another student at South Park Elementary. “You can just shut up, Bebe, because you hate America and love abortion,” he says with encouragement from PC Principal (formerly “Politically Correct” but now, as of this season, “Power Christian” in light of the season’s resurrection of Jesus), and Mr. Mackey riding along with ICE).
The hiatus was pre-planned, Deadline reports. In place of a new episode this week, there will be an encore airing of the premiere on Wednesday night.
We’ll see if either scene from Tuesday’s promo actually makes it into the episode, given Parker and Stone tend to fly by the seat of their pants a bit when it comes to making South Park. Just last week at Comic-Con, the duo confirmed they’d fabricated a whole bunch of random scenes for an earlier promo for Season 27, saying they received an angry response from fans, who thought the duo were creating episodes in advance to sidestep any hot topics.
Parker exclaimed, “You seriously think we made a bunch of shows ahead of time and baked them for later? We’re not doing any of that!”
Update (8/6) - In “Got a Nut,” when Mr. Mackay loses his job, he desperately tries to find a new way to make a living. The episode also parodies Kristi Noem, the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security who is often mocked for her uniform cosplay and love of Botox. (#2702)
Noem is the former governor of South Dakota and a faithful Trump supporter, who got national attention when she published a memoir in which she confessed to having shot and killed her family dog for being “untrainable.” Although for many, this would have been the end of her political career, in the Trump administration, that doesn’t apply, and MAGA loyalist Noem found herself on the national stage again.
Noem was nominated by then-President-Elect Trump to serve in his cabinet as DHS Secretary and was confirmed by the Senate in January. Since serving in that role, Noem has carried out Trump’s immigration policies in deporting undocumented immigrants. Noem is often referred to as “ICE Barbie” or “Homeland Barbie” for appearing glammed up and never missing a photo opportunity.
The new episode debuts Aug. 6 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central, streaming the next day on Paramount+.
The Season 27 premiere also took aim at Comedy Central’s parent company Paramount Global’s dealings with Trump as the FCC moved to approve its merger with Skydance — the source of much recent consternation for series creators Parker and Stone. Time will tell what other hot topics the season might address, but in any instance the promo pretty much confirms that Parker and Stone have more to say.
South Park has long mocked Trump, but the Season 27 premiere took things to a new level with the president complaining about the size of his manhood in an official painting, then crawling into bed with and trying to be amorous with Satan, who rejects him, also complaining about the size of Trump’s manhood. In the episode, titled "Sermon on the ‘Mount", the residents of South Park come together when the kids’ school principal literally brings Jesus into the classroom. The town’s parents riot, prompting a $5 billion lawsuit from Trump. The episode ends with an A.I.-produced PSA showing a live-action Trump walking a desert, then his unblurred manhood making an appearance, with eyes.
The episode had the president seething, sources have told Deadline, prompting backlash from the White House.
Riding their lucrative Paramount Global deal, the South Park crew will continue to punch up at the Trump administration when the series’ 27th season picks back up next Wednesday, August 6 (streaming the next day on Paramount+). An encore of the season premiere will air tomorrow (July 30) as part of a pre-planned one-week hiatus.
Season 27 kicked off with a bang, with premiere ep “Sermon the ‘Mount'” featuring a segment in which Trump complains about the size of his genitals in an official painting, and is then shut down by his bedmate, Satan, who drives the gag home with his own complaints. The episode dug at Paramount Global’s relationship with the current administration, as the FCC is in the process of approving its merger with Skydance
Despite the President of the United States lashing out at the long-running animated series, other areas of his administration embraced the parody. The official DHS X account used a still of the upcoming episode to promote a job opening:
With the new Paramount deal making Parker and Stone billionaires, the notorious toon duo are well positioned to keep the current events jabs coming all season long.
