Stars From Nick Jr. UK's "PAW Patrol" To Visit Darwen, Lancashire In November 2016

Stars from Nick Jr. UK's PAW Patrol will be visiting and meeting fans in Darwen this November as they help celebrate the switching on of the Lancashire towns' Christmas lights!

PAW Patrol Stars Marshall and Chase visit fans Marsh Farm Adventure Park in Essex in May 2016.

The PAW Patrol stars will be joining X Factor stars Reggie 'n' Bollie, who will be switching on the towns Christmas decorations.

Cllr Brian Taylor, leader of Darwen Town Council, said he hopes the younger generation especially will enjoy the event.

He said: "I think it will be a superb event, Christmas is such a happy occasion and the switch-on always creates a brilliant atmosphere.

"I think the acts this year will attract the younger generation especially and I hope that they will feel proud of their town when they go to it.

"It's very important that we get the youngsters involved in events in the town.

"It's lovely to have everyone together in the town centre celebrating the festive period and I am looking forward to the show."

The event will be taking place on Saturday 19th November 2016, from 4pm to 8pm in the Market Square.

The news comes after it was announced that Britain's Got Talent stars Boogie Storm would be switching on the lights in Blackburn.

Nickelodeon's PAW Patrol CG-animated preschool series stars a pack of heroic rescue pups - Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Rubble, Zuma, Skye and the newest pup Everest - who are led by a tech-savvy boy named Ryder. Together, they work hard to show the people of Adventure Bay that "no job is too big, no Pup is too small!" Produced by Spin Master Entertainment, the series on Nick Jr. features a curriculum that focuses on citizenship, team building, social skills and problem-solving. PAW Patrol airs everyday on Nick Jr. UK and Ireland/HD.

Cllr John Roberts, chairman of the Darwen Town Centre Partnership Board, said it was a popular show with his grandchildren and will go down well.

He said: "It should be a really great event and so far we have had loads of interest particularly from families with young children who are excited that they will get chance to meet Paw Patrol."
