Nick Jr. Australia To Premiere 'Sunny Day' On Monday 19th February 2018

SMILES AND STYLES SAVE THE DAY IN SUNNY DAY,

NICKELODEON’S BRAND-NEW ANIMATED PRESCHOOOL SERIES,

PREMIERING MONDAY 19TH FEBRUARY 2018 ON NICK JR. AUSTRALIA



Australia– Preschoolers will be smiling and styling with Sunny and her friends in Nickelodeon's brand-new animated series, Sunny Day, premiering Monday 19th February 2018 at 8.30am on the Nick Jr. channel in Australia! The series (40 episodes) centres on Sunny, a 10-year-old master hairstylist and entrepreneur who uses creative problem-solving to tackle any dilemma that arises in her seaside town of Friendly Falls. The characters in the series celebrate individuality and self-expression, while the show’s social-emotional curriculum highlights leadership, innovative thinking and teamwork.

Sunny Day is developed and produced by Silvergate Media (Peter Rabbit), and will air regularly weekdays at 8:30am on Nick Jr. Australia.

Sunny (Lilla Crawford) is a confident and creative natural leader who runs her own hair salon in the town of Friendly Falls. When adventure calls, Sunny sets out to save the day with her can-do attitude, salon-on-the-go Glam Van, best friends and colleagues, Rox (Elan Luz Rivera), Blair (Taylor Louderman) and her dog Doodle (Rob Morrison). Each episode of Sunny Day features a unique digital extension where kids and their parents can watch fun, live-action hairstyle tutorials that are tied directly to the hairstyles featured in each episode and narrated by Sunny.


The first season of Sunny Day will feature celebrity guest stars including: Ashley Parker Angel (O-Town), Lance Bass (NSYNC), Kether Donohue (Grease Live, Pitch Perfect movies), Sutton Foster (Younger, Anything Goes), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lack), Adam Jacobs (Aladdin), Jamie-Lynn Sigler (The Sopranos, Entourage) and Shanice Williams (The Wiz Live!).

In Sunny Day’s season premiere, "Sunny and the Princesses", the girls style visiting Princesses and take the younger one, Annabella, on a fun-filled day around town. With Sunny's help, Annabella shows her sister Dominica the importance of trying new things.

Below is a list of the currently announced brand-new episodes of Sunny Day that will air on Nick Jr. Australia:

Monday 19th February 2018 at 8.30am - Sunny and the Princesses: The girls style visiting Princesses and take the younger one, Annabella, on a fun-filled day around town. With Sunny's help, Annabella shows her sister Dominica the importance of trying new things.

Tuesday 20th February 2018 at 8.30am - Friendship Day: Doodle mistakenly believes Sunny has forgotten him on Friendship Day and goes out in search of a new friend.

Wednesday 21st February 2018 at 8.30am - If Timmy Gives You Apples: When Timmy's enthusiasm for delivering apples gets the better of him, the girls soon find the salon overflowing with fruit.

Thursday 22nd February 2018 at 8.30am - Puppy Love: Doodle is smitten with a lost puppy, and with Sunny, Rox, and Blair's help, keeps the pup away from Scratch the Dog Catcher. The adventure leads to a daring rescue by Sunny and a surprise ending.

Friday 23rd February 2018 at 8.30am - Band Together: Sunny and the gang put together a rock group to perform at the Friendly Falls Talent Show. When Lacey sabotages their performance, Sunny has to pull off some neat magic tricks to save the show.

Each episode of Sunny Day will also feature a unique digital extension where kids and their parents can watch fun, live-action hairstyle tutorials that are tied directly to each storyline and narrated by Sunny.

Sunny Day made its world debut on Nickelodeon USA in August 2017, and is currently rolling out on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. channels worldwide. Nickelodeon recently renewed Sunny Day for season two, and will launch a Sunny Day toy line and live tour in the U.S. later this year.

The second season of Sunny Day will see Lacey join the salon team to manage Sunny's new Pet Parlor. Sunny will also hit the road in a brand-new vehicle, the Groom & Vroom, a styling vehicle exclusively for pets.

Nickelodeon will launch a portfolio of Sunny Day consumer products with a new line of toys from Mattel Inc. The toy line will debut at Walmart in the U.S. May 2018, while other products will be available in categories including consumer electronics and home goods starting in May and throughout the rest of the year.

The Sunny Day Tour is an immersive on-ground activation that will travel to cities across the U.S. It will kick off at the Bentonville Film Festival in May and make stops at select Walmart stores across the country during the summer.
