Now, a Chilean video creator named Codeína has used his talents whilst stuck at home to make a special gift for fans: a brand new short inspired by the Hey Arnold! episode "Sid and Germs". In the episode, after watching a film about hygiene at school, the school's champion frog-catcher becomes obsessively clean. For the short, Codeína took scenes for the episode to make it relevent to the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which is currently spreading around the world.
In the short, Sid becomes obsessively clean after watching a public address by Jaime Mañalich, a Chilean physician (nephrologist), and current Health Minister of Chile, in which he calls for calm after the arrival of COVID-19 in the country. The the character then adopts strict measures not to get it and recommends to Arnold to wash his hands for 20 seconds - one of the best ways to stop the virus from spreading.
It even has jokes about toilet paper, which people have been bulk-buying- causing shortages around the world!
The situation worsens when Sid receives the news that a person from the school tested positive for coronavirus. I won't tell you more about the storyline, so you can enjoy this "new" chapter of the series in the video below!
The video is titled "Sid y el coronavirus" ("Sid and the Coronavirus"), and, as its made in Chile, is in Latin American Spanish. But you should get the gist of the story if you don't speak Spanish!

Una de las series más queridas por fandom de Nickelodeon es ¡Oye, Arnold! y, seguramente, muchos en sus casas están haciendo maratones durante la cuarentena recordando los mejores momentos de la vida del «cabeza de balón». Sin embargo, el creador de videos, Codeína, decidió darle un regalo a todos los fanáticos adaptando uno de los capítulos de la serie con motivo de la pandemia del coronavirus.
El realizador tomó fragmentos del capítulo «Sid y los gérmenes» en el que este personaje se vuelve paranoico con respecto a estos microorganismos luego de ver una película sobre higiene. Tomando esto como base, Codeína muestra cómo Sid se vuelve un obsesivo de la limpieza luego de que el ministro Jaime Mañalich llamara a la calma tras la llegada del covid-19 a Chile. Luego, el personaje tomará estrictas medidas para no contagiarse y le recomendará a Arnold lavarse las manos por 20 segundos.
La situación se agrava cuando Sid recibe la noticia de que una persona de la escuela dio positivo en el test de coronavirus. No te contaremos más para que disfrutes este «nuevo» capítulo de la serie.
