Nick Jr. Global Slated to Premiere 'Beat Bugs' in July 2021

Nick Jr. Global will reportedly start to air the Emmy-winning music-centric animated series Beat Bugs in July!

Five friendly bugs learn big lessons about the world around them in this hit animated series.

Beat Bugs (78 x 11' plus one 44-minute special) is an animated series aimed at 4–7 year olds, revolving around the lives and adventures of five charming and funny child-like bugs. What sets Beat Bugs apart is that each episode uses the narrative inherent in a Beatles song, recorded by some of the world’s leading artists and sung by the show's characters as a key dramatic feature of the story.

Beat Bugs incorporates songs made famous by The Beatles, to tell uplifting and life-affirming stories filled with hope and melody. World-leading artists, including P!nk, Robbie Williams, Rod Stewart, Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder, as well as leading animators and writers have come together to work on this extraordinary show.

The Beat Bugs are charming, funny, adventurous and have a knack for getting themselves into mischief and mayhem. Each of the five friends (Jay, Kumi, Crick, Buzz and Walter) has a distinctive personality, and they display the charm and energy of five knockabout, lovable kids. They are best friends who band together to explore and learn in their overgrown back garden, which to them is their entire universe.

The Australian-Canadian series was created Josh Wakely and commissioned by Seven Network Australia & Netflix Inc. The series is co-produced by Netflix, Grace: A Storytelling Company, Beyond Screen Production (Mythbusters: The Search) and Thunderbird, and debuted globally in August 2016.

Among the prestigious awards the series has picked up are:

- Winner (2016): Best Children's Television Series, Australian Academy of Cinema & TV Arts Awards
- Winner (2017): Best Animated Programme, Leo Awards
- Winner (2017): Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Programme, 44th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards
- Winner (2017): Best Use of Music in a Kids Series, Cynopsis Kids Imagination Awards
