Nickelodeon Premieres 'The Astronauts' in Latin America and Brazil

The Astronauts Marks the First Production From Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Kids+Family Division

Nickelodeon Brazil (Brasil) enters orbit for the epic premiere of The Astronauts, Nickelodeon's first co-production with Imagine Kids+Family.  The brand-new live-action series follows a group of kids who embark on the adventure of a lifetime when they are mistakenly launched into space.  The Astronauts (10 x 30') is executive produced by Imagine Entertainment Executive Chairmen Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, and Imagine Kids+Family President Stephanie Sperber.  The series is created by Daniel Knauf (Carnivàle, The Blacklist), who also serves as writer and executive producer. Locally titled Os Astronautas, the series will premiere on Friday 8th October 2021 at 21:00 on Nickelodeon.

Update (11/10) - The Astronauts also premiered on Nickelodeon Latin America (Latinoamérica)! Locally titled Los Astronautas, the series premiered on October 8 at 21:30 hs. CHI, 20:30 hs. VEN, 20:00 hs AR, 19:30 hs. COL/MEX, with new episodes airing every Friday at the same times.


In the premiere episode of of The Astronauts, the spacecraft Odyssey II is set to launch on a mission to retrieve a foreign object that could potentially save mankind.  The plan quickly goes awry when five untrained kids use their parents’ security clearances to sneak onto the empty ship.  Soon after they board, the onboard AI system triggers the launch sequence.  Unable to stop the ship from blasting off, the kids must assume their new role as astronauts and brave harrowing tasks, as their parents rush to find a way to take control of the situation.


The group traveling together through space are: Samantha “Samy” Sawyer-Wei, played by Miya Cech (Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Always Be My Maybe); Elliott Combs, played by Bryce Gheisar (Wonder, A Dog’s Purpose); Martin Taylor, played by Keith L. Williams (Good Boys, The Last Man on Earth); Doria Taylor, played by Kayden Grace Swan (A Black Lady Sketch Show); and Will Rivers, played by Ben Daon (Child’s Play).  Matilda, the ship’s onboard AI system, is voiced by Paige Howard (The Employer, Adventureland).

The premiere episodes of The Astronauts are directed by DGA Award nominee Dean Israelite (Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Power Rangers movie, Project Almanac), who also serves as executive producer. The series is also directed by Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, The Orville), and Marcus Stokes (Criminal Minds, The Flash, 911). Will Davis served as creative executive for Imagine Kids+Family.

Production of The Astronauts for Nickelodeon is overseen by Shauna Phelan, Senior Vice President, Live Action Scripted Content; and Zack Olin, Senior Vice President, Live Action.  Brian Banks serves as Nickelodeon’s Executive in Charge of Production for the series.

The Astronauts made its world premiere on Nickelodeon USA on Friday, November 13, winning the day with Kids 6-11 across all TV for L+SD and L+3. The premiere posted a +31% increase with Kids 6-11, up from 1.3 (L+SD) to 1.7 (L+3).  It also saw a double digit increase in L+3 ratings (+55%) year over year. Additionally, The Astronauts delivered a strong co-viewing audience with 40% of Adults 18-49 watching the series premiere with a Kid 6-11.


The Astronauts is the first production to hail from Imagine Kids+Family.  Imagine has a rich history telling stories rooted in space adventure, including the multiple Academy Award-winning film Apollo 13 (celebrating its 25th anniversary this year), the hybrid docuseries Mars for NatGeo, and the Emmy Award-winning series From The Earth To The Moon for HBO.

SKY anuncia sinal aberto com mais de 10 canais e pacote HBO em outubro

Nesta segunda-feira (4), a SKY comunicou a abertura de sinal de 10 canais e das emissoras do pacote HBO para o mês de outubro. A iniciativa é válida para os clientes de planos pós e pré-pago, com recarga ativa.

A relação de emissoras contempladas é esta: AMC, Disney Channel, Disney Jr, Disney XD, Gloob, Gloobinho, pacote HBO com oito canais, NatGeo Kids, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr e Zoomoo Kids.


Os destaques da programação incluem a estreia de Lupita no Planeta de Gente Grande, Ursinhos Carinhosos, Miraculous – As Aventuras de Ladybug, a terceira temporada de Succession, o filme Space Jam – Um novo legado e a nova temporada de Fear The Walking Dead.

Os canais terão períodos distintos de sinal aberto, com o começo para algumas emissoras a partir desta sexta-feira (8). LOS ASTRONAUTAS: NICKELODEON LATINOAMÉRICA ESTRENA LA SERIE EN OCTUBRE

Nickelodeon Latinoamérica tendrá un nueva producción en sus pantallas proximamente, y es que Los Astronautas (The Astronauts) llegarán oficialmente a la programación del canal desde el 8 de octubre, y no este mes de septiembre, como estaba previsto.

La nave espacial Odyssey II está lista para despegar y cumplir una importante misión para proteger a la Tierra. Sin embargo, todos los planes se tuercen cuando el grupo de amigos formado por Samy, Elliot, Martin, Doria y Will deciden colarse dentro de ella y accidentalmente su interfaz de inteligencia artificial acaba lanzándolos al espacio sin ningún adulto al mando. Así, para poder volver a casa, la pandilla de Los Astronautas debe trabajar en equipo para controlar y pilotar la nave como auténticos astronautas.

Producido por Imagine Entertainment e Imagine Kids + Family, la serie fue estrenada en Estados Unidos en noviembre de 2020, y está disponible desde junio de este año en el catálogo de Paramount+, además, conto con una exhibición especial en el canal del primer episodio el 28 del mismo mes. 

Conformado por una temporada y nueve episodios, puedes seguir el estreno de Los Astronautas desde el viernes 8 de octubre a las 21:30 hs. CHI, 20:30 hs. VEN, 20:00 hs AR, 19:30 hs. COL/MEX, con un nuevo episodio todos los viernes a la misma hora, y con repeticiones los sábados a las 18:00 hs. CHI/VEN, 17:00 COL, 20:30 MEX y los domingos 22:00 hs. CHI/VEN, 21:00 COL, 21:00 MEX.

ACTUALIZACIÓN: El estreno previsto para el 1 de octubre fue removido al 8 de octubre debido a la emisión especial de los Rugrats.
