Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Fans Want Chip Skylark To Be Added Over Timmy Turner

First, we fought for Hugh Neutron over Jimmy. Now, we demand pop sensation Chip Skylark.

Continuing in the trend of unexpected Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl fighter requests, the fanbase is at it again. This time, players are calling on developer Ludosity to add popstar Chip Skylark as a DLC fighter, representing The Fairly OddParents. You know, instead of the actual protagonist, Timmy Turner.

The in-universe pop star with shiny teeth fends off other popular requests, such as Timmy's dad, the Crimson Chin, Doug Dimmadome, owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome, Vicky, Mr. Crocker, Dinkleberg, Cosmo, Wanda, and Jorgen Von Strangle. It remains to be seen if developers listen to the cries of fans, but to be honest, in this post-Garfield world anything is possible.

Unfortunately, there is a big hurdle in the way that is stopping Ludosity from adding any characters from Fairly OddParents: It all boils down to rights and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl being made for a global audience. Although Fairly OddParents is produced by Nickelodeon for the network, the network only has the rights to the series for the U.S.  To add characters Fairly OddParents characters to the game, Ludosity would have to pay Nelvana, who holds the rights to the series outside the U.S.

"'Crimson Chin should get in after Timmy' 'Mr. Turner should get in after Timmy' Nah bro, this guy right here", says Popular_Fruitsnack over on the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl subreddit, sharing a picture of Chip.

Many in the replies agree, but there's no shortage of other Fairly OddParents fighter requests. Others ask for fellow star Britney Britney, but of course, there's many behind Doug Dimmadome taking the character slot.

This is very similar to the drive to get Hugh Neutron - father of Jimmy Neutron - into the game rather than his son, which actually started before the game had even launched due to its inclusion of Nigel Thornberry from The Wild Thornberrys. In fact, the campaign became so passionate that it caught the attention of Hugh's voice actor Mark DeCarlo, who backed the move and said he would be happy to provide voice lines. This managed to maintain some momentum, as a post-launch poll had Hugh as the fifth most-requested fighter, albeit finally overshadowed by Jimmy, who stole first place.

If any of these left-field requests are being considered, we're likely to find out sooner rather than later. Nick Brawl hasn't been great at keeping its update plans under wraps, with dataminers finding proof of Garfield's involvement weeks before the official confirmation. Even before launch, Aang and Korra's confirmation was spoiled by the official artwork, which blatantly depicted their silhouettes.

Following the addition of Garfield, it has been confirmed that there's one more free DLC fighter that will be added to the game, with paid-for fighters becoming available soon after.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl launched October 5, 2021. It is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
