Nickelodeon International has refreshed the official websites for Nickelodeon channels around the world, with most now being redirected to a single global homepage.
The new look uses a 'bare-bones' framework based on the current design of Nickelodeon USA's official website, nick.com, which launched during summer 2024.
With the latest website refresh, only the official websites of Nickelodeon UK, Nickelodeon Italy and Nickelodeon Germany have kept their localised websites and domains, nick.co.uk, nicktv.it and nick.de, respectively, with the websites for most other Nickelodeon channels, including Nickelodeon France (nickelodeon.fr), Nickelodeon Spain (nickelodeon.es) and Nickelodeon Portugal (nickelodeon.pt) now being redirected to a global homepage hosted on the nick.com domain, https://www.nick.com/global.
At the time of writing, only Nickelodeon UK's website has kept a schedule page. Additionally, some of the elements on Nickelodeon Germany and Nickelodeon Italy's official websites are also in English.
Like its U.S. counterpart, the new Nickelodeon website also merges content from both Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., with the official websites for Nick Jr. channels now either redirecting to a localised page (nickjr.co.uk now redirects to nick.co.uk, for example) or the global homepage. This might be trouble for Nickelodeon France, as they don't abbreviate Nickelodeon to Nick.
The news comes as Nickelodeon has been delocalising in recent months, with most channel feeds now using a pan-regional feed or sub-feed, with the exception of Nickelodeon UK, Nickelodeon Italy and Nickelodeon Germany (with Nick Jr. UK and Nick Jr. Italy also keeping their localised feeds). This has extended to Nickelodeon's social media pages, with the official Instagram and Threads pages now being language-based rather than country-based, for example, Nickelodeon's pages for Latin America and Spain have now merged, along with the pages for Nickelodeon Brazil and Portugal.
