Harriet Dyer & Tim Meadows New Show DMV | Teaser | Coming CBS Fall 2025 | CBS

The most dreaded place just became the funniest place on TV. The new CBS Original comedy DMV is coming to CBS this Fall.

Based on the short story by award-winning author Katherine Heiny, DMV turns everyday chaos into charm as a crew of lovable misfits tackle bureaucracy, bad attitudes, and busted printers—all with minimum wage and maximum sarcasm. It’s the job nobody wants, but the hangout you won’t want to miss.

DMV, based on award-winning author Katherine Heiny’s short story, is a single-camera workplace comedy set at the place everyone dreads going most: the DMV. Our quirky and lovable characters are making minimum wage, doing a thankless job where customers are annoyed before they even walk in the door. Good thing they have each other.

DMV stars Harriet Dyer, Tim Meadows, Tony Cavalero, Molly Kearney, Gigi Zumbado and Alex Tarrant. Dana Klein will executive produce along with Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling and Robyn Meisinger. Trent O’Donnell executive produced and directed the pilot from a script written by Klein. The series is produced by CBS Studios and will be distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

BURBANK, Calif. – May 1, 2025 – A new living situation spells laughs, adventure and growth in Nickelodeon’s original 2D-animated series, Wylde Pak, premiering on Friday, June 6 at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT) in the U.S. and later this year internationally. Produced by Nickelodeon Animation, Wylde Pak explores the dynamics of a multigenerational and multicultural blended family as half siblings Lily and Jack learn to navigate new family dynamics under one roof for the first time.

In the half-hour premiere episode, “Best Summer Ever?,” Jack and Lily are half-siblings living on opposite ends of the world—until Jack shows up on Lily’s doorstep for the summer. Their arguing sends the family’s new grooming trailer careening through town and they must save their family’s livelihood and Halmoni, who is stuck inside.

Nickelodeon today also revealed the trailer, key art, and additional voice cast members including Gillian Jacobs (The Bear) as Alice Kelly, Jack’s biological mom and a world-renowned documentarian taking on adventures abroad and Jon Glaser (Running Point) as Chuck, the family’s happy-go-lucky and eccentric neighbor who always seems to know a guy.

Wylde Pak follows half-siblings Jack and Lily as they are pushed outside their comfort zones and learn to coexist while navigating new family dynamics, friends, and endless hijinks, all while helping run the family’s pet grooming and boarding business. With guidance from their parents and grandmother, the two will learn about each other’s previously separate lives, blended identity, vibrant culture, and the importance of family.

Wylde Pak stars previously announced Nikki Castillo (K.C. Undercover) as the voice of Lily Pak, a competitive and fun-loving 11-year-old, and Benjamin Plessala (SpongeBob: Sponge on the Run) as Jack Wylde, Lily’s 13-year-old adventurous half-brother who just came into town for the summer. Additional voices include Ben Pronsky (The Loud House) as William Wylde, Jack and Lily’s fun-loving dad, Jee Young Han (Unprisoned) as the voice of Min-Ju Pak, Lily’s energetic mom and Jack’s stepmom, and Jean Yoon (Kim’s Convenience) as the voice of Halmoni, Min’s unpredictable mom, and Lily and Jack’s caring yet stubborn grandma.

For early looks at Wylde Pak, check out the Nicktoons and The Loud House YouTube channels for more shorts and clips. Fans can also check out a full sneak peek of the premiere episode “Best Summer Ever?” beginning today.

Wylde Pak is co-created by Paul Watling (The Tiger’s Apprentice) and Kyle Marshall (The Loud House), who both serve as executive producers alongside Seonna Hong (The Wild Robot) and Conrad Vernon (Shrek). Development and production are overseen by Claudia Spinelli, Senior Vice President, TV Series Animation, Nickelodeon, and Daniel Wineman, Vice President of Original Animation Development. Dairy Queen Fans Beg for SpongeBob-Inspired Dipped Cone Flavor to Come to U.S.

Fans want the sweet treat to be made available in the United States.

Dairy Queen Mexico SpongeBob SquarePants Bubblegum Ice Cream Cone

Ice cream is a big deal in the United States, so much so that the average American eats roughly four gallons of the cold treat each year.

But at least one ice cream-centered dessert requires a passport for people based in the U.S. to try.

Popular food blogger Snackolator shared an image of a dipped ice cream cone that used to be available at Dairy Queen locations in Mexico on Instagram, asking fans if they would want the sweet treat to become available in the United States.

Per the influencer, Dairy Queens in Mexico offered a SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired “blue bubble gum dipped cone where Canada got a pink version a few years ago.”

According to Dairy Queen México's Facebook page, the cone was released in July 2020 to celebrate the release of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run.

Fans jumped into the comments to give their thoughts, writing, “When will it be available to the USA? It looks delicious!”

Others agreed, commenting, “Happy for them! But we want it in the US too!”

“I don’t like bubble gum flavored things but that does look good,” said a third, while another fan said, “I'm interested. Id try it if it were here.”

One fan claimed to have tried the dessert, writing, “When we had it in Mexico I tried it and it was fine. Definitely a different flavor than usual but I’d very love if they brought it back.”

Milkshake! Stirs Up a Nimble Content Strategy

Paramount UK/Ireland's SVP of kids & family Louise Bucknole reveals which formats she's in the market for and why the UK's leading preschool block is embracing omnipresence to support consistent viewership growth.

Treehouse

As Paramount Global gears up for new ownership under a Skydance Media merger deal, its UK subsidiary 5 is envisioning a new era for its platforms, including the Milkshake! strand that targets two- to five-year-olds (occasionally skewing up to age seven).

Since launching in 1997, this programming block has been a UK preschool favorite—and its reach has only broadened since Louise Bucknole took charge in 2018. She became Senior Vice President (SVP) of kids & family at Paramount UK/Ireland in January.

Louise Bucknole
Louise Bucknole

Last year, Milkshake! cornered an 11.3% average share of the UK’s four- to 15-year-old audience (Barb/TechEdge), and viewing for its content on the My5 platform increased by 24% compared to 2023. In order to capitalize on this growth, Channel 5 revamped this year as part of a rebrand to simply 5—with expanded offerings that include a Milkshake! FAST channel and a recent strategy of uploading select full-length episodes on YouTube. “Kids now watch content in more places than before and don’t necessarily have brand loyalty, so we’ve become more agile in sharing our content,” Bucknole told Kidscreen. “We make sure it’s available everywhere kids are.”

What is Milkshake! looking for?

Bucknole is currently seeking slapstick comedy concepts and nature-inspired edutainment—an evergreen category for the block that includes her recent commission of Aneeshwar’s Outdoor Adventures (20 x 11 minutes) from MCC Media. “We aim to be flexible with rights and work with [nimble] funding models,” adds Bucknole. “This includes co-productions, accessing regional funding and collaborating with multiple partners.”

Milkshake! typically allocates 80% of its annual spend to commissions and 20% to pick-ups, though this split can vary from year to year. To diversify its acquisitions, Bucknole is looking to license more international shows (on average, 30% are UK-produced), noting that titles like Oggy Oggy from France and Ukrainian/Spanish co-pro Brave Bunnies are strong performers.

Five-, seven- and 11-minute episodes are ideal, and in terms of volume, Milkshake! prefers 20 to 25 live-action eps per season, and either 26 or 52 animated episodes. Bucknole cautions that she’s not seeking shorts that are under three minutes long, since Mikshake!’s in-house team produces those. She’s also not looking to buy original movies due to their “low repeatability” on a linear schedule, but she’s open to this format if it’s based on an existing title in the Milkshake! catalogue.

'Tim Rex in Space' key art
Tim Rex in Space

Tim Rex in Space is the first global co-pro from Milkshake! and Nickelodeon, and Bucknole is looking to replicate this collaborative model.

PAW Patrol ranked as the top-performing IP on Milkshake! last year (with the flagship series and spinoff Rubble & Crew together driving a quarter of all annual viewership), followed by Peppa Pig, Milo, The Adventures of Paddington and Pip and Posy

Coming up next

A 2D-animated family series is in early development and will be announced later this year, Bucknole teases. In the meantime, Mint Copenhagen’s 2D-animated Tim Rex in Space (60 x eight minutes) just premiered on Monday 5th May. Also joining the lineup that month is Treehouse (30 x seven minutes, featured image) from RD Content. And then Jellyfish Originals/Jollywise Media’s CG-animated series Stan & Gran (52 x 11 minutes) is slated to premiere in July, coinciding with the release of Aneeshwar’s Outdoor Adventures

This story originally appeared in Kidscreen‘s Q2 2025 magazine issue.
