PAW PATROL LIVE! to 'Race to the Rescue' at the Benedum Center, PA This May

When the PAW Patrol pups bound into action during Paw Patrol Live! “Race to the Rescue,” May 11 through 14 at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, they'll prove that “No job is too big, no pup is too small!”


Audiences will have the opportunity to join Ryder and the pups, Chase, Marshall, Skye, Rubble, Rocky, Zuma, Everest and many other friends, as they teach about leadership and teamwork.

Matt Lamb, a native of Glassport, PA and current resident of Pittsburgh, will portray the role of Mayor Humdinger in Paw Patrol Live!

Lamb, who has performed in other children’s theater productions, feels that live theater for this particular demographic is important.

“One, I think it is the experience, and two it is very gratifying for the kids. With the show I am actually able to talk to the kids in a way and interact with them and see their reactions. It is very real,” he told HeraldStandard.com. “The show is a cartoon and this is live action. It is unbelievable to hear their voices. I hear them cheering when Ryder comes out, or for the pups or the mayor. Because I am Mayor Humdinger I get a few boos. The way the theaters are they are very large houses and the kids are really into it and it is wonderful.”


The show centers around a big race that is taking place between Mayor Goodway, the mayor of Adventure Bay and Mayor Humdinger, the mayor of Foggy Bottom.

“When the show starts Ryder, who is the leader of the Paw Patrol, he comes out and greets everyone to Adventure Bay. Today is the day of the great adventure race between Mayor Goodway and Mayor Humdinger. He teaches the kids some cheers. It is very interactive. When the kids come in they get pompoms and they can cheer along with Mayor Goodway and you get to meet the pups and they come out,” explained Lamb. “You find out that Mayor Goodway is in a bit of trouble and the Paw Patrol do what they do best and help out. They have to find clues around Adventure Bay. When they find a clue Ryder reads it out loud and asks the audience to help out. They have to get to Adventure Bay before sundown. They will see a lot of familiar faces throughout adventure bay. It is basically a race to the finish.”

Jim Waters, producer for VStar Entertainment Group said, “Using Bunraku, puppetry elements are built into costumes worn by real actors to create a wonderful combination of life-sized pups and to make a stronger connection with the audience. The Paw Patrol cast sings and dances, which brings a fun, realistic parallel between the animated series and the live show.”


Humdinger serves as a character that challenges the pups.

“Mayor Humdinger is the mayor of Foggy Bottom and his very mischievous. He is a little selfish and he always has to be the best. He is a ‘win at all costs’ (type) and eventually whatever he tries backfires,” said Lamb. “He tries to be the best mayor. It is a great story of good versus bad and how doing the right thing will always be right. He does turn around after realizing, at the end of our show, a good lesson.”

For Lamb, being able to make this cartoon character come alive in front of the audience has been a great experience.


“It’s a cartoon and I like [bringing] that to life. This is the first live action tour for ‘Paw Patrol’ and I get to bring that character to life,” he said.

“I watch a lot of Paw Patrol. I want to make sure that I do my best to sound like the characters. I want to make sure I stay true to the narrative and to the cartoon character and what he does.

Tickets for “Race to the Rescue,” an inaugural partnership between VStar Entertainment Group and Nickelodeon, range between $18 to $60. There is a limited number of VIP (Very Important Pup) meet and greet ticket packages that start at $120.

“What is great (about the show) is it teaches the same lessons that are a part of the cartoon like team work and leadership and helping others,” said Lamb.

“Plus it is live theater. For a lot of kids it may be their first experience for live theater. What I hope is that it installs in them the want to see more and to enjoy the arts,” he said.

PAW Patrol Live! "Race to the Rescue" based on hit preschool series PAW Patrol, which airs on Nickelodeon and is produced by Spin Master Entertainment, will visit the NJPAC Dec. 9 and 10, 2017.


PAW Patrol Live!, presented by Pedigree, brings everybody's favorite pups to the stage for an action-packed, high-energy, musical adventure. When Mayor Goodway goes missing during the day of The Great Adventure Bay Race, the pups come to the rescue. Join Ryder, Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Rubble, Zuma, Skye and Everest when they visit Newark.

Featuring a cast of everybody's favorite PAW Patrol characters and presented by VStar Entertainment Group and Nickelodeon, PAW Patrol Live! shows that "no job is too big, no pup is too small," and shares lessons for all ages about citizenship, social skills and problem-solving as the characters each use their unique skills and teamwork. The show includes two acts and an intermission, and engages audiences with Bunraku puppetry, an innovative costuming approach that brings the PAW Patrol characters to life on stage with their vehicles and packs.

London, 27th April, 2017 – The SpongeBob Gold international fashion collection will be available from 18th May at the Wonderland Shop at 192 Piccadilly, London and online at www.wonderlandshop.com. The retail launch of the fashion line will be celebrated with a private launch party and late night shopping event at Wonderland featuring DJ Jodie Harsh.


Part of a year-long SpongeBob Gold international campaign, the SpongeBob Gold fashion collection is an innovative collaboration with six international designers – Peter Jensen, Bobby Abley, Bad Denim, Salar, Maria Francesca Pepe and Suecomma Bonnie. Featuring clothing for men and women as well as footwear, accessories and jewellery, the SpongeBob Gold collection is inspired by Nickelodeon’s incurably optimistic and earnest sea sponge, SpongeBob SquarePants. Each week, six really cool comedians who are the funniest and sharpest teen comedy cast on the circuit, introduced the show. L.O.L: Laugh Out Loud is a no holds barred comedy show, so kids were advised to throw their parents out of the sitting room, make sure their baby sister was tucked up in bed, and be prepared to be shocked - as this was one comedy sketch show that you don't want to miss!


Every week, a whole host of characters including Jean Paul Goatee, a fashion know it all; The Rubbish Bully, who'd give you a mobile phone rather than nick it; Mr. Conkers, the head teacher who is absolutely bonkers; two of the smelliest characters you're ever going to meet; The Truthful Farting Granny, who'd fart your future; Graham Godley's Gorgeous Gran; Half Hearted Hannah; Billy Smellypits; Evil Baby, the scariest baby sister in the world; the most embarrassing Mum in the world; Fiona Road Rage; The Victorian Gentleman; and Billy Blewitt, the only one who can save us from the evil robots with his Big Brainy Bum! L.O.L: Laugh Out Loud promised to have viewers laughing until their sides spilt each week! It's G.R.8!


For L.O.L: Laugh Out Loud, Nickelodeon UK held a nationwide talent contest to look for the stars of the show. The final 15 came down to London's Comedy Store and were whittled down to Nicole Lewis, Nina De Comiso, Dax O'Callaghan, Alan Orr, Joe Swash and Joanna Burford by a crack team of comedy experts.

Produced by Nickelodeon UK and SMG Productions, the series premiered on 11th October 2002 as the British equivalent of All That and The Amanda Show, and ran for 10 episodes.

Among the sketch writing team were Dean Wilkinson and Dan & Nuria Wicksman.

Joe Swash went on to play Mickey Miller in the British soap opera EastEnders, then becoming King of the Jungle on I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! (UK);

Nicole Lewis played a reporter in an episode of The Naked Brothers Band;

Joanna Burford appeared in Little Britain;

Dax O'Callaghan went on to became the youngest ever choreographer to teach full-time classes at the Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden, London;

Alan Orr went on to become an actor and composer for the PACE Theatre Company, and recently appeared in the Scottish comedy series Two Doors Down.

Episode 1
We meet our regular characters for the first time, Fiona Road Rage, The Victorian Gentleman and the dancing Billy Smellypits. Throw in a visit to Cannibals Burger Bar and a special prediction from our own fortune teller “ The Truthful Farting Granny” and you have Episode 1 of L.O.L.

Episode 2
As well as favourite characters like Rubbish Bully and Half Hearted Hannah, Episode 2 lets us into the secret thoughts of two of our biggest pop superstars and what those girly pandas are really up to.

Episode 3
The LOL cast manage to get themselves hypnotised , we have a commercial for a very special air freshener for those “embarrassing moments”, and Joe threatens Alan with the ultimate weapon “ dog pooh on a stick”.

Episode 4
In Episode 4 we meet the most embarrassing Mum in the world and we find out what teenagers are really talking about. And find out what happens when Dax buys Nicole a sweet bunny rabbit for her birthday.

Episode 5
Meet the maddest headmaster ever “Mr. Conkers…he’s Bonkers” and find out what happens when Nina manages to swallow the smallest mobile phone in the world…and there’s a bit more of that “dog pooh on a stick”.

Episode 6
In Episode 6 the team try to discover the of a very weird smell and we meet the mum who just cant get it right when it comes to finding a new dad for her boys. And there’s a welcome reappearance of our own Truthful Farting Granny.

Episode 7
Meet three new characters in Episode 7. Jean Paul , the fashion designer from hell, the scariest baby sister in the world in “Evil Baby” and dodgiest judge in legal history as played by Joe.

Episode 8
Dax plays the coolest street magician in the world (well almost). We’re treated to a lecture on how your smelling organ really works and we meet the latest chat show hostess on morning television.

Episode 9
Episode 9 gives us a look into the latest satellite channel, which only transmits at night,”Vampire T.V.”. And what would you do if your mum not only had a beard but it could also read your mind?

Episode 10
Meet the stupidest criminal ever on the run, the teacher who admits the truth behind algebra, and the most tactless doctor you’re ever likely to meet in Episode 10.

Nickelodeon Netherlands Commissions "De Ludwigs" Season 2

Hot on the heels of Nickelodeon USA announcing that it had renewed its adventure-comedy series Hunter Street for a 20-episode Season 2, Nickelodeon Netherlands (Nederland) has also announced that it has commissioned a second season of De Ludwigs, the Dutch counterpart of Hunter Street!


Both De Ludwigs season two and Hunter Street season two will be produced back-to-back in Amsterdam later this summer, with Nickelodeon Benelux starting to premiere episodes from De Ludwigs season two on Nickelodeon Nederland and Nickelodeon Belgium (België) during Fall 2017.

De Ludwigs is the only series of Dutch origin which has an international version, Hunter Street, in production at the same time.

The news follows the success of De Ludwigs season one, which debuted on Nickelodeon Benelux in May 2016, and the recent 8-part De Ludwigs special De Ludwigs - Wie is de dief?.

De Ludwigs is an adventurous comedy series for kids between the ages of 6-12. The series is characterized by friendship, family, and the solving of a great family mystery. De Ludwigs follows the comedic adventures of the Ludwig family, a family of five foster children who live in an imposing Amsterdam canal house that also serves as a museum with their parents.

In the first season of De Ludwigs and the independent adventure Wie is de dief?, Tooske and Bastiaan Ragas portrayed Kate and Erik Ludwig, the parents of the Ludwigs family. The roles of the five foster children were portrayed by Timo Verbeek (Benny), Rosaline Lantink (Anoosha), Cedric van den Abbeele (Sam), Luca Hollestelle (Yara) en Yassine El Ouardi (Daniel), with Cees Geel, Kees Hulst, Arno Moens (Tim), Aliyah Kolf, Eva van der Gucht, Peter Bolhuis and Yootha Wong Loi Sing (Simone) also having roles in the series.

In addition to De Ludwigs, Tooske Ragas, Cees Geel, Kees Hulst, Yootha Wong-Loi-Sing, Aliyah Kolf, Eva van der Gucht and Peter Bolhuis also had roles in the shows English-language remake, Hunter Street.

De succesvolle in Nederland geproduceerde komische avonturenserie De Ludwigs krijgt een vervolg, zo maakt Viacom-zender Nickelodeon vandaag bekend. Hunter Street, de internationale Engelstalige versie van De Ludwigs die back-to-back lokaal in Nederland wordt geproduceerd, krijgt tevens 20 nieuwe afleveringen. Sarvar And Sartaj Lend Their Voices To The "Gattu Battu" Theme Song | Nickelodeon India

Singers Sarvar and Sartaj, who have crooned the song "Bapu sehat ke liye tu to haanikaarak he" for Dangal, have now lent their voices to the theme song of Nickelodeon India's brand-new animated investigative TV series Gattu Battu!

"It was an amazing experience to sing the title track for the new show Gattu Battu. I really hope my friends and fans would love our new song. I am a great fan of detective shows and I am looking forward to watch the new series," Sartaj said in a statement.


Sarvar shared: "I have been following shows on Nickelodeon since I was a kid. Motu Patlu title track has been my favourite. It's a great opportunity to sing to the lyrics penned down by Gulzaar uncle for Gattu Battu."



Fans can catch Gattu Battu from Monday 1st May 2017 on Nick India!

Tapping into the homegrown content demand, Nickelodeon announces new show "Gattu Battu":

The fiscal year 2016 has been rather promising for Viacom 18’s kids’ channels. Nickelodeon has maintained its stance as the apex kids channel in the country since 2014 and joining it are other subsidiaries namely Sonic, Nick Jr and Nick HD+.

The channel receives 65 per cent of its viewership from urban areas and the remaining from the rural areas. Nickelodeon, Sonic and Nick Jr contributed to 31 per cent of the network share.

With the demand for homegrown IPs on the rise, Viacom 18 is all set to bring in India’s first ever animated investigative series for kids – Gattu Battu. Nickelodeon’s fourth made-in-India animated series Gattu Battu, is a high decibel detective action comedy series slated to release on 1 May, 2017. The show has been produced by Toonz Animation.

Gattu Battu is a story of two best friends who own an investigative and security agency in a small town called Vishrampur. While Battu is the sixth sense behind every case to be solved, his friend Gattu is the courageous and righteous one. Their hilarious and brilliant cover-ups is what forms the heart and soul of this show. Gattu and Battu are joined in their fun escapades by Ting Tong, their goofy and adorable sidekick with a flair for martial arts. They, together along with Dr. Bhatawadekar and his gadgets come together to fight the notoriously funny villain Sher Singh. The unique investigative home-grown animated show from the house of Nickelodeon is an ultimate blend of action and comedy and is sure to provide a fun filled entertainment experience for kids.


Announcing the launch Viacom18, head – kids entertainment, Nina Elavia Jaipuria said, “Nickelodeon endeavours to serve the best entertainment to its young audience. Catering to children and their evolving preferences is at the core of all our initiatives. It is this coupled with our desire to innovate that has helped us sustain our leadership in the kids’ segment since 2014. After launching three blockbuster made in India shows and creating their ecosystem, we are delighted to bring to them yet another winning series, Gattu Battu, that they will surely embrace and make a part of their daily lives.”

The expansive marketing campaign will have promotions with an extensive cross channel plan, large scale on-ground ambient engagement and interesting on-line interactivity.

There will also be on-ground initiatives like retail and mall partnerships (Phoenix, Ambience, Viviana etc), multi city promotions etc. The channel has associated with [McDonald’s] to air the show promos across 300 screens. Gattu Battu themed games, van activations in Tier 2 cities and meet-and-greets at various gaming zones such as Fun City will introduce the duo as well as allow kids to engage with the characters.

The franchise revenue has increased by 20 per cent year-on-year. Sonic’s yield increased by 40 per cent year-on-year, while Nickelodeon’s yield has spiked up by 25 per cent year-on-year. Jaipuria said that they will be launching around 15 games this summer, including ones for their newest IP.

Apart from Gattu Battu which will run seven days a week, the company will also be bringing new episodes of Ninja Hattori, for which they have collaborated with the Japanese makers, while Motu Patlu will witness new episodes this summer as well apart from its first time ever movie premiere on television. A new Motu Patlu movie is also in production titled Motu Patlu in Dragon World and we will see its release sometime in June this year. Motu Patlu is the number one show on VOOT, the company’s OTT platform.

Sonic’s three of the most renowned properties, Shiva, Oggy and the Cockroaches and Pakdam Pakdai will also be coming around with new episodes this summer.

The company is also doing pretty well in the licensing and merchandising front as its merchandising revenues went up by 40 per cent as it has its presence in 46 categories. However, as Jaipuria stated, the company took a hit of around 15 to 20 per cent owing to demonetisation, which resulted them in losing their surplus.

Another property of the franchise, Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, was received quite well and the company has plans to make it bigger for the next edition.
