Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice & Victorious Cast Have Virtual Reunion for Show's 10-Year Anniversary

The Nickelodeon series ran for 57 episodes between 2010 and 2013

It may not have been the 10-year celebration they had in mind, but the cast of Victorious still managed to reunite while social distancing.

On Friday, Ariana Grande and Victoria Justice — stars of the Nickelodeon show that ran from 2010 to 2013 — shared glimpses of the virtual reunion they had with their former castmates as the coronavirus outbreak prevented them from having an in-person gathering.

Aside from Grande, 26, who played Cat Valentine, and Justice, 27, who played Tori Vega, the digital get-together included Leon Thomas III (Andre), Matt Bennett (Robbie), Elizabeth Gillies (Jade), Avan Jogia (Beck), Daniella Monet (Trina), Eric Lange (Mr. Sikowitz) and the show’s creator Dan Schneider.

Sharing a screenshot of the video conference, Justice wrote on Instagram: “This made me happy 😊. 10 years later. Can’t even believe it. 🙏🏼” In the clip, Justice thanks fans and sends her well wishes amid the pandemic.

“We love you guys!” she said. “Thank you so much for supporting our show after all these years — 10 years, that’s absolutely insane. We hope that you guys are staying home and staying safe and staying healthy. Sending you guys all our love in the world.”

The cast signed off on the chat by thanking viewers again, as Grande (who also posted decade-old behind-the-scenes videos from the set) blew a kiss to the camera and lifted her wine glass to cheers.

Gillies shared the screenshot on Instagram writing, “Simply the best,“ to which Grande commented, “the best night of my life.“

On Friday, Justice posted an emotional tribute to her fans and costars, reflecting on the show, which she started at age 17.

“10 years of Victorious!!! It’s actually a little crazy typing that, because in a lot of ways it feels like it was just yesterday,” she began the caption, sharing a collection of throwback photos from the set. “I’ll never forget how I cried at our very first table read. I cried because I was sooo frickin’ happy!!!”

Justice said the show was life-changing, and that she is “so grateful I got to share it with this amazing, insanely talented group of people.”

“We share memories together that I look back fondly on to this day & will always cherish,” she wrote. “Thank you so much to all the fans who continue to love and support our show. Makes me real happy to see that it’s still enjoyed by so many of you. Thank you @danwarp for creating this magic 🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼. I love you guys!!! #grateful.”

Grande — who continued to play her character in the spin-off series Sam & Cat — also marked the milestone anniversary on Instagram.

“I’m sorry for the mushiness but…. jus want to say how grateful i will always be for being on this show and for those years of my life,” wrote the “7 rings” singer. “I couldn’t have spent my teenage years with a better, more funny, talented group of human beings.”

Grande added: “…. I miss getting in trouble w my friends the school room and trying not to laugh when we weren’t supposed to on set. i even miss waking up with red hair dye stained pillows.”

Justice commented on Grande’s post, writing: “Such a special time. Memories I will always cherish. Love u guys 🙏🏼”

Ariana Grande and the ‘Victorious’ Cast Celebrate 10 Year Anniversary on Zoom

Nickelodeon fans’ dreams came true when the cast of “Victorious” reunited to celebrate the show’s debut 10 years ago.

Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice and their co-stars were supposed to get together in person to commemorate the anniversary, but due to the shelter-in-place rules around the country, the cast all hopped on a Zoom call.

Grande and Justice were joined by Leon Thomas III, Matt Bennett, Avan Jogia, Elizabeth Gillies, Daniella Monet, Eric Lange and creator Dan Schneider.

“We love you guys. Thank you so much for supporting our show after all these years. Ten years, it’s absolutely insane. We hope you guys are staying home and staying safe and staying healthy,” said Justice.

“Victorious” premiered on Nickelodeon on March 27, 2010, and ended after four seasons in 2013. The teen sitcom gave many of its stars breakout roles, especially Grande, who went on to become a Grammy-winning, Platinum-record selling artist. The series picked up four Emmy nominations and had a short-lived spin-off called “Sam & Cat,” starring Grande and fellow Nickelodeon star Jennette McCurdy from “iCarly.”

“Thank you so much for accepting ‘Victorious’ into your homes and for making us parts of your lives. It means so much to us how the fans have accepted us over the last 10 years,” said Schneider.

After the show was abruptly canceled, many fans have called for a reunion special to give the characters a proper farewell. However, Schneider left Nickelodeon in 2018 and no plans exist to bring the show back, so a Zoom call will have to do for now.

10 years. Couldn’t write down half the memories if I tried. I love these guys so much. The years we spent at Nick on Sunset filming Victorious held some of the most wonderful and precious moments I’ll ever have in my life. We were kids. We all grew up together on that show. We laughed as hard as we worked. We were a family 10 years ago and we still are now. (No, really, I’m serious- we were texting each other for over 2 hours last night) Thank you to all the fans, old and new, for embracing our weird little show and for continuing to keep it alive so many years later. Thank you @danwarp for creating these characters that would end up shaping us for a lifetime and for bringing the wild world of Hollywood Arts to life. Those vibrant sets in the middle of Hollywood were our office for 4 years. Dream job. Anyway- I love Victorious, I love my Victorious family & I love you guys. VICTORIOUS!! 🍾🍾 🍾 (you’re all old enough to drink now, right?)

Ariana Grande and the Victorious Cast Virtually Reunite For Show's 10th Anniversary

The "Thank U, Next" singer also posted a black-and-white screenshot from the video conference, simply captioning the pic, "happy."

Even the coronavirus pandemic couldn't stop Ariana Grande and the cast of "Victorious" from celebrating the show's big milestone.

On Friday, the pop star, who played Cat Valentine on the fan-favorite Nickelodeon series, joined her former co-stars Victoria Justice (Tori Vega), Elizabeth Gillies (Jade West), Matt Bennett (Robbie Shapiro), Avan Jogia (Beck Oliver), Daniella Monet (Trina Vega), Leon Thomas III (Andre Harris) and creator Dan Schneider for a virtual reunion on video conference service Zoom.

As the group shared sweet posts on social media, including a few nostalgia-filled ones from Grande, Justice also revealed a short clip from the epic reunion on Instagram, proving the former co-stars are still close although the show has been off the air for over seven years.

"We were all supposed to get together tonight, on the 10th anniversary of the premiere of 'Victorious,' but we couldn't because of the current situation so we got together virtually -- thank you Zoom! -- we're all together," Schneider began in the clip.

"We wanted to get together virtually to say thank you. Thank you so much for accepting Victorious into your homes and for making us apart of your lives," he continued. "It means so much to us how the fans have accepted us over the past 10 years."

Justice echoed Schneider's thoughts and shared her gratitude for fan support over the years. "We hope you guys are staying home and staying safe and staying healthy and sending you guys all your love in the world."

After everyone in the chat also said their thanks, Grande then toasted the camera with what looked like a glass of red wine. Gillies and Jogia followed suit with their beverages and sent their "Cheers!"

Grande, 26, shared multiple posts on Instagram in honor of "Victorious'" 10-year anniversary. The musical-comedy series, which ran from 2010 to 2013, was notably the now-pop star's big break.

Ahead of the Zoom reunion, the Grammy winner posted a series of photos and "some bored on set gems" on Instagram.

"ten years of victorious daniella's post got me all in my feels now so i'm sorry for the mushiness but.... jus want to say how grateful i will always be for being on this show and for those years of my life," Grande captioned a compilation of throwback photos. "i couldn't have spent my teenage years with a better, more funny, talented group of human beings. i really loved playing cat valentine (even though sometimes people think i actually still speak and act like that and her essence will lovingly haunt me til i die)"

"i miss getting in trouble w my friends the school room and trying not to laugh when we weren't supposed to on set. i even miss waking up with red hair dye stained pillows," she continued. "thank u @danwarp and to my cast mates for some of the most special years of my life and for bringing all of us into each other's lives. happy anniversary!"

The "Thank U, Next" singer also posted a black-and-white screenshot from the video conference, simply captioning the pic, "happy."

Meanwhile, it seemed not everyone was thrilled about the "Victorious" reunion. While many fans shared their excitement in the comments, others trashed the reunion on Twitter and voiced their disapproval that Dan Schneider was invited.

The producer, who famously created other popular Nickelodeon shows including "All That," "iCarly, "Zoey 101" and more, became a trending topic on Twitter Saturday morning as fans were upset he was part of the reunion after the network parted ways with him in 2018 over alleged inappropriate behavior.

From Bustle:

Ariana Grande Celebrated The 'Victorious' 10th Anniversary With A Reunion

Ariana Grande isn't about to let social distancing get in the way of reuniting with all of her former Nickelodeon costars. On Friday, March 27, Ariana Grande celebrated Victorious' 10th anniversary with a virtual reunion for her fellow cast members, and the pop star shared several goofy photos from the event on her social media accounts. "Happy," Grande captioned a screenshot of the group's Zoom meeting on her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

The "Thank U, Next" singer reminisced about the classic Nickelodeon sitcom — which ran from 2010 until 2013 — with creator Dan Schneider and her Victorious cast mates, including Victoria Justice, Liz Gillies, Matt Bennett, Leon Thomas III, and Daniella Monet. In the photos she shared on social media, Grande can be seen making a heart with her hands, while Gillies and Bennett hold a glass and a guitar over their heads, respectively.

Earlier in the day, Grande shared several throwback photos and videos from her time on the show, on which she played the ditsy but talented Cat Valentine. "I’m sorry for the mushiness but.... [I] jus want to say how grateful I will always be for being on this show and for those years of my life," the singer wrote on Instagram, along with a slideshow of behind-the-scenes photos from her time on Victorious. "I couldn’t have spent my teenage years with a better, more funny, talented group of human beings."

She continued, "I miss getting in trouble w my friends the school room and trying not to laugh when we weren’t supposed to on set. i even miss waking up with red hair dye stained pillows." Grande then thanked Schneider for casting her on the show, as well as "my cast mates for some of the most special years of my life. ... Happy Anniversary!"

In her tribute post Grande also acknowledged the connection she will always have with her character, who she also played on the short-lived series Sam & Cat opposite Jennette McCurdy. "I really loved playing Cat Valentine," the singer wrote, "even though sometimes people think i actually still speak and act like that and her essence will lovingly haunt me til I die."

Despite revealing in her July 2019 Vogue interview that she only auditioned for Victorious to further her dreams of becoming a pop star, Grande has stayed connected to her former costars, even casting Bennett and Gillies in her iconic "Thank U, Next" music video. (Bennett also played Grande's love interest in the "One Last Time" video.) In November, she invited them both to perform with her on the Sweetener World Tour, where Grande recreated a scene from Victorious by singing "Give It Up" with Gillies.

The 10th anniversary of Victorious was also a special day for Grande for another reason: it's also her dog, Coco's 10th birthday. "Happy tenth birthday my sweet coco bear," the singer wrote on Instagram, alongside a black-and-white photo of herself cuddling with the puppy. Between her beloved dog's big day and a remote reunion with all of her Victorious cast members, it's no wonder that March 27 was such a "happy" day for Grande.

Ariana Grande & 'Victorious' Cast Reunite on Zoom

On the tenth anniversary of the premiere of the popular Nickelodeon series "Victorious," the entire cast surprise-reunited virtually on Zoom Friday!

The reunion included Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande, Leon Thomas III, Matt Bennett, Elizabeth Gillies, Avan Jogia, Daniella Monet and Eric Lange, and was moderated — for all one minute and 23 seconds! — by series creator Dan Schneider.

Saying they were "all supposed to get together tonight on the tenth anniversary of the premiere of 'Victorious,' but we couldn't because of the current situation," referencing the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for people to socially distance, Schneider explained "we got together virtually!"

The cast wanted to make the appearance to thank fans for making the show, which enjoyed four seasons from 2010-2013, such a hit.

Encouraged to speak, series star Victoria Justice said, "Oh, my gosh! We love you guys. Thank you so much for supporting our show after all these years, 10 years, this is absolutely insane!"

"We hope that you guys are staying home and staying safe and staying healthy," she continued, saying they were "sending you guys all our love in the world."

Ariana Grande, who played Cat Valentine on the show from 2010-2013 and then repeated the role on "Sam & Cat" from 2013-2014, cooed, "Thaaank you," and raised a glass of wine to the camera.

"Stay home, be safe, be good, do the right thing, and thank you!" Schneider said, wrapping things up.

[...]

Could a bigger reunion be on the horizon?

Could JoJo Siwa Be The T-Rex on 'The Masked Singer'? [Updated]

JOJO SIWA ON THE MASKED SINGER!! | JoJo Siwa

Although unconfirmed, it's rumored that Nickelodeon superstar JoJo Siwa is the T-Rex on The Masked Singer season three!:

From ScreenRant:

The Masked Singer Clue Confirmed T-Rex’s Identity

The Masked Singer fans were just introduced to group C and already think they know who T-Rex is, but do the clues say something different?

This week The Masked Singer introduced Group C, the last remaining new performers for season 3, and by the end of the show, many fans already knew who was hiding behind the dinosaur mask. Who is T-Rex and what clues confirm her identity?

T-Rex had drawn many guesses starting from the time her costume was introduced. All those went out the window though, the minute that she took to the stage with boundless enthusiasm. The first thing fans noticed was that T-Rex was clearly a young performer who was full of energy as she danced around the stage. Fans also noticed that T-Rex was quite tall as she stood not much shorter than the host Nick Cannon. She sang "So What" by Pink and immediately fans took to social media with their guesses.

Another theory floating around was the the T-Rex was Liza Koshy, the host of Nickelodeon's revived Double Dare.

By the time the performance was done most agreed that it was YouTube sensation, JoJo Siwa, who was behind the mask. If they weren't convinced by the performance alone then the clue package definitely helped confirm their suspicions. The clue package for T-Rex started out with sitting on a baby doll to tell the story of her journey, implying she began very young. This would be accurate for Siwa who is still by most standards very young. Next a compass with the directions "N" and "W" circled. Fans of the YouTuber, as well as fans of Keeping up with the Kardashians, know that she appeared on the show with Kim Kardashian's daughter North West who she appears close to. She talked next about being discovered while showing a dinosaur dripping in pink. Pink is one of JoJo's signature colors this made sense. She was also discovered when she appeared on Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition.

She went on to say she was plucked out of obscurity to a magical place full of creatures pirouetting the land all similar in looks strength and skill. This was a clear reference to her appearance on the dance competition show leading to a two-year stint on the popular reality show Dance Moms. Next viewers were shown a gold "U" which pointed to her success as a YouTuber which followed the show. T-Rex even showed off some of her dance moves before she sang. At 5'9" she fits the height guesses for T-Rex as well. More than any of the clues though was just that her fans felt her overall personality showed through in the performance. The voice was also fairly recognizable to anyone who has watched her YouTube channel.

[Her performance was a lot of fun.] [However,] many to believe that she would be the first member of group C eliminated. However, this dinosaur escaped extinction for at least another week as it was Bear, who turned out to be former Governor Sarah Palin, who went home. Whether you're young enough to be a fan of JoJo Siwa or old enough to have been reminded it of by her performance, there is no denying T-Rex was entertaining. Luckily we will get to see at least one more performance from her next week.

From Variety:

‘The Masked Singer’ Reveals the Identity of the T-Rex: Here’s the Star Under the Mask

SPOILER ALERT: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 3, episode 9 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired March 25 on Fox.

JoJo Siwa can finally reveal the truth to her fans: Yes, the T-Rex on “The Masked Singer” was her. Plenty of viewers had figured it out — but per the rules of the show, the YouTube and Nickelodeon star had to keep her lips sealed.

“I think the hardest thing was the secrecy from my people and my friends,” Siwa told Variety. “The hard thing was social media. ‘The Masked Singer’ on social media, whomever runs the page is amazing. They’ll tweet and ask, ‘Do you think T-Rex is JoJo Siwa’ and they’ll tag me, ‘@JoJoSiwa, what do you think? Is it you?’ And you can’t like it, you can’t do anything. So that made it hard. And also, I film my life every single day and I’m posting online every single day. So to not post about this was so weird. I wanted to post, obviously.”

Making it doubly unusual: One of “The Masked Singer” dancers also works as a backup dancer for Siwa, who went on tour last year.

“But she didn’t know who it was, since you can’t know,” Siwa said. “I think after she heard me sing and saw me dance she my have figured it out, but we never talked about it because you can’t. I’m excited tonight to be able to text her and say it was me! We worked together for three weeks and it was fun!”

For her third appearance, Siwa-as-T-Rex performed “Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny),” by A.R. Rahman and the Pussycat Dolls (coincidentally, ‘Masked Singer’ panelist Nicole Scherzinger wrote part of that song as a member of the Dolls). In previous weeks she performed “So What,” by Pink, and “Push It” by Salt-N-Pepa.

Ultimately, Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg and Robin Thicke figured out it was Siwa, while Ken Jeong guessed Liza Koshy and guest panelist Will Arnett thought it was Tara Lipinski. In previous weeks the panelists also guessed Kourtney Kardashian, Maddie Ziegler, Rebecca Black, Lily Singh, and Mikaela Shiffrin.

“I have a really recognizable voice,” Siwa said. “And no one quite uses energy in their performance like I use energy, so I knew people were going to guess me. It was just a matter of how quickly they were going to guess me. It’s fun to be guessed.”

Siwa said she didn’t hesitate to join the show when she was approached: “I think if anybody was asked to do ‘The Masked Singer’ they’d be crazy to say ‘no’ to it,” she said. “I knew it was going to be fun before I did it, so as soon as I got the opportunity, I was like, ‘yes.'”

Siwa wanted to be a dinosaur on the show before she even joined, but didn’t tell the producers or costume designers. When they approached her with the T-Rex as one of her costume possibilities, she said it was an easy pick — even if the costume was a bit cumbersome.

“It was definitely hard and definitely tiring and the costume was tiring,” she said. “It definitely was tricky, it was about figuring it out. The tail was complicated and caused quite a bit of trouble. But aside from the tail, it was just really heavy and hot.”

Siwa was the third star to be kicked off in Group C, the final of three groups of six celebrities (making 18 total) competing in this year’s competition. Her exit this season follows Lil Wayne, Drew Carey, Chaka Khan, Tony Hawk, Dionne Warwick, Tom Bergeron, Sarah Palin and Bella Thorne.

Now that the Group C championships are over, next week kicks off the second phase of Season 3, with the final nine going at it: White Tiger, Turtle, Kangaroo, Frog, Kitty, Banana, Rhino, Astronaut and Night Angel.

'Blue's Clues & You' to Bow on Nick Jr. Russia on Monday 30th March 2020

Nickelodeon’s Brand-new Preschool Series Blue’s Clues & You! Bows Monday 30th March 2020 on Nick Jr. Russia

It’s time to pull up the Thinking Chair and follow the paw prints as Blue and her crew return in Nickelodeon’s brand-new preschool series Blue’s Clues & You!, debuting on Nick Jr. Russia (Россия) on Monday 30th March 2020! Following launch, new episodes of Blue’s Clues & You!, locally titled Загадки Бульки для всех, will continue to air regularly on Nick Jr. Россия.

Steve Burns (Steve) and Donovan Patton (Joe) will reprise their roles in the series premiere, “Meet Josh!,” and help new live-action host Josh (Joshua Dela Cruz) and the audience solve their first game of Blue’s Clues.

Blue’s Clues & You! will feature brand-new elements alongside refreshed iconic items from the original series, including:

  • New CG-animation for Blue and Magenta;
  • An updated Handy Dandy Notebook equipped with a new blue crayon and smartphone technology, allowing Josh and Blue to receive emails and video calls;
  • An all-new Handy Dandy Guitar;
  • The return of fan-favorite characters: Tickety Tock, Slippery Soap, Shovel, Pail, Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper, Cinnamon, Paprika, Felt Friends, Sidetable Drawer and Mailbox, plus the original Thinking Chair;
  • And the introduction of Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper’s newest additions—twins Sage and Ginger.

A remake of the groundbreaking, curriculum-driven interactive series Blue’s Clues, Blue’s Clues & You! follows Blue as she invites viewers to join her and Josh on a clue-led adventure and solve a puzzle in each episode. With each signature paw print, Blue identifies clues in her animated world that propel the story and inspire the audience to interact with the characters.

Blue’s Clues & You! made its world premiere on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Monday, Nov. 11, at 1:00 p.m. (ET/PT).

The original Blue’s Clues series launched in September 1996 to critical praise from educators, parents, and preschoolers and ran for six groundbreaking seasons. Created by Traci Paige Johnson, Todd Kessler, and Angela C. Santomero, Blue’s Clues drew acclaim and high ratings for its unique interactivity that helped change the way kids watch television and has remained one of the most popular preschool shows of all time. The landmark series also raised the bar in preschool television by exploring advanced subject matter such as sign language, geography, physics, emotions, and anatomy. The original series debuted on Treehouse in Canada in 1998.

The original Blue's Clues series aired on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. in Russia, where it was locally titled Подсказки Бульки.

Original ViacomCBS Networks Russia press release:

Опубликовано 18.03.2020

NICK JR.

Drake Bell Set Us Straight About the 'Drake & Josh' Theme Song (Again)

It's been quite well-known for a while now that Drake Bell sings the lyric "It's going to take some time to realign" in the Drake & Josh theme song. However, fans - and even the people who do TV captions - still think it's being sung as "It's gonna take some time to realize."

Now, Bell has released a new TikTok video to set the record straight!:

And judging from the comments, a lot of fans still thought it "realign"!

In the all new episode, comedian Kel Mitchell (All That, Kenan & Kel, Good Burger) transforms into a Substitute staffer who gives students a field trip to the park that they won’t forget! From Hollywood Life:

‘The Substitute’ Finale Preview: KelMitchell Looks Unrecognizable & FoolsThe Kids On A Field Trip

Kel Mitchell undergoes a wild transformation in ‘The Substitute’ season finale. HL has an EXCLUSIVE preview of the March 28 episode that features Kel going undercover on a field trip.

Kel Mitchell goes undercover as a substitute staffer at Angelus Mountain Center to surprise students on a field trip from Pasadena Rosebud Academy. In our EXCLUSIVE preview of the hit Nickelodeon series The Substitute, Kel has transformed into a wild survivalist. He’s got a bushy beard and is dressed in head-to-toe denim in this season finale sneak peek. He tries to teach the kids how to start a fire, but he fails miserably. He can’t quite get the spark going!

He makes a joke about his mom and one of the students says, “You’re mean. Don’t talk about your mama like that. I’m going to call her right now.” She’s not messing around! Kel moves on to his next demonstration, which is to teach the students how to wash clothes before there was a washer. He tries to fool the kids into thinking he has “cowboy socks” but one kid points out that she’s seen those socks at Target! The kids give the washing a try, but they’re not the biggest fans of the old way of washing clothes.

In addition to this wacky survivalist, Kel also hides his identity by transforming into a crazy frontiersman and a lizard expert with a shocking secret. He uses full costumes and prosthetics to achieve these crazy looks! Kel goes all-out with these transformations.

This season has also included celebrities like Jace Norman, Lilly Singh, John Cena, Ne-Yo, The Bella Twins, Asher Angel, Shaun White, and JoJo Siwa. The Substitute season finale will air March 28 at 9 p.m. on Nickelodeon.

Kel Mitchell sits in the makeup chair getting prosthetics put on for ‘The Substitute.’ He’s got a big smile on his face, as always!
