Nickelodeon UK Network Ratings for week of Monday 13th - Sunday 19th July 2020


Viewing figures across the Nickelodeon network were up over the previous week, according to BARB data, with The Thundermans topping Nick's Top 15, and newcomer Mr Magoo topping Nicktoons' - in fact, the series did very well during its second week on-air.

Over on Nickelodeon's preschool channels, an episode of PAW Patrol helped almost double Nick Jr.'s ratings over the previous week, whilst Peppa Pig once again topped Nick Jr. Too's. Nick Jr. Too is currently hosting a Peppa Pig pop-up channel, the show once again dominated both channel's charts.

Signed 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Score From 'Sozin’s Comet' Now Available at Auction to Raise Money for Southeast Symphony

To help raise money, the Southeast Symphony is currently hosting an online auction full of musical memorabilia and treasure. One of the items up for grabs is a signed edition of a musical score from Nickelodeon's beloved animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, signed by Jeremy Zuckerman, the composer behind the show's epic musical arrangements.


On offer is Jeremy Zuckerman’s pounding arrangement of the main theme that plays during the end credits of the final episode (“Sozin’s Comet, Part 4: Avatar Aang”). It was the first and only time this arrangement was heard in the show.

The score is printed on heavy 11”x17” paper for easy framing and is signed by composer Jeremy Zuckerman, is will also be scoring Netflix's upcoming live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series!

ViacomCBS Networks International Promotes Executives in Youth & Entertainment Unit

ViacomCBS' ViacomCBS Networks International unit on Monday, July 27 unveiled four key leadership promotions in its Youth & Entertainment division.


All the executives will report to Kerry Taylor, Executive Vice President (EVP) of VCNI’s Youth & Entertainment brands in 180 countries outside the U.S.

Kelly Bradshaw, most recently Vice President (VP) & brand lead for MTV U.K., Northern & Eastern Europe, will expand her remit and serve as VP of brand & content strategy. "Bradshaw will lead content strategy and maximize intellectual property expansion globally," the company said. "Additionally, she will partner with the production, development, sales, location-based experiences, music and consumer products teams to support their efforts to monetize content and drive brand revenue."

As the Vice President & Brand Lead for MTV UK, Northern & Eastern Europe, Bradshaw oversaw a portfolio of 18 U.K. channels including the MTV & VH1 flagships. Bradshaw, who joined MTV in 2004, commissioned hit shows such as Teen Mom UK and The Charlotte Show and worked in collaboration with MTV International on developing original programming hits such as Just Tattoo of Us. Under her leadership, MTV UK grew nearly 140% in the last 10 years, and in 2018 delivered its highest youth share since 2003. The brand also won multiple awards including Creative Channel of the Year at Promax 2018 and Specialist Channel of the Year at Edinburgh TV Festival 2019.

Craig Orr, formerly VP, commissioning & development, MTV International, is expanding his role to become VP, content & development, VCNI Youth & Entertainment. Orr is now responsible for the development and commissioning of all original content for linear, digital and OTT platforms across the combined suite of international brands, bringing brand defining stories to audiences worldwide.

Orr, who joined MTV International in 2011 as an Executive Producer, has overseen the growth of MTV juggernaut Geordie Shore since 2013 along with its multiple spin-off series, and launched notable top-rated reality franchises including the #1 hit series Ex on the Beach, Just Tattoo of Us and True Love or True Lies. Most recently, Orr commissioned the remotely produced MTV Cribs: Footballers Stay Home and the digital first series Served! With Jade Thirlwall.


And Kate Sils, who oversees digital for Nickelodeon International, is expanding her role by also taking on oversight of the Youth & Entertainment brands as VP of VCNI Digital & Multiplatform. "She will lead the strategy and production teams responsible for third-party platform digital consumption," the company said.

Since joining the company in 2003, Sils has evolved with the digital landscape, moving from launching websites and web games to debuting global blockbuster apps and programming content across multiple digital platforms globally. Her work has helped propel ViacomCBS to #1 in the Tubular rankings for entertainment brands in digital content consumption. Under her leadership, Nickelodeon has seen exponential growth on third party platforms, and now boasts some of the highest-ranking YouTube channels in the world.

In addition, Jemma Yates is expanding her role to serve as VP of programming & acquisitions, VCNI Youth & Entertainment. "She will be responsible for creating engaging content experiences for consumers across all markets and services by leading international content acquisitions and VCNI’s programming strategy," the company said. She previously worked as VP of content for Comedy Central and Paramount Network International.

Formerly Vice President of Content for Comedy Central and Paramount Network International, Yates oversaw acquisitions, programming and scheduling for the two brands. She joined Viacom International in 2015, and has helped Comedy Central International see four consecutive years of share growth. On Paramount Network International, she secured a multi-territory deal to bring the hit series Yellowstone to regions around the world, and is playing a leading role in the expansion of the Paramount+ streaming service around the world.

"This brilliant, creative team will partner with me to harness the power of our combined brands by bringing the best, most compelling content to audiences around the world," said Taylor. "Each of these leaders has a wealth of experience that will grow and transform our business for the future while furthering our role as a global content engine."

Across the three international brands, which are in 180 countries with 28 unique languages and in 375M households outside the U.S., linear viewership for 2Q20 was up +17 percent and market share was up +3 percent YOY. The monthly average video views also spiked over +175 percent for the year to date.

'SpongeBob SquarePants' and 'The Casagrandes' Pick Up Awards at 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced the fantastic news that Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids, won two awards in the 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards!

Voice actor Tom Kenny picked up the Emmy award for "Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program" for voicing SpongeBob SquarePants in the hit Nickelodeon animated series, SpongeBob SquarePants, whilst The Casagrandes, a companion spin-off series from The Loud House picked up the Emmy for "Outstanding Main Title For An Animated Program" award. The series picked up the award in a tie with Disney Junior's Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure. The Casagrandes theme song is performed by pop star Ally Brooke and series star Izabella Alvarez (Westworld).

Celebrating the win, Alvarez said on Twitter: "I remember nickelodeon asking me if I wanted to rap in the main theme song alongside @AllyBrooke I was so nervous but unbelievably excited. Today we took home an emmy for our main titles i’m over the moon. thank you thank you thank you. #TheCasagrandes"

The Daytime Emmy® Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in daytime television programming since 1974. The awards are presented to individuals and programs broadcast between 2:00 AM and 6:00 PM, as well as certain categories of digital and syndicated programming of similar content. This year’s awards honor content from more than 2,700 submissions that originally premiered in calendar-year 2019, judged by a pool of 1,000 peer professionals from across the television industry. All voting was tabulated by the accounting firm of Lutz and Carr, LLP.

The winners of the children's portion of the Daytime Emmy Awards 2020 were announced during the 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards – Children’s, Lifestyle & Animation Ceremony, live-streamed on the Emmy's dedicated platform powered by Vimeo. SpongeBob SquarePants and PAW Patrol Now Available at Nickelodeon Land at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

With lockdowns caused by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic starting to ease in the UK, it's now the law to wear a face mask in many public spaces, including in shops and on public transport. To help make it easier for everyone to adjust to the "new normal", Nickelodeon Land at Blackpool Pleasure Beach has released a range of branded face masks featuring characters from the hit Nickelodeon properties, SpongeBob SquarePants and PAW Patrol!

Yvette Nicole Brown Loves Her 'Drake & Josh' Character, Too

Fingers crossed for a reboot!


Over a decade after the show aired on Nickelodeon, Yvette Nicole Brown discussed her Drake & Josh character Helen, saying that she loves how fans still approach her about the role. On Sunday, Brown opened up about appearing on the beloved sitcom during an episode of PeopleTV's Couch Surfing, noting the enduring appeal of Helen DuBois, who was the tough-talking manager of the Premiere movie theater brothers Drake Parker (Drake Bell) and Josh Nichols (Josh Peck) worked. Helen adored Drake and disliked Josh, despite the latter being considerably better at the job. Even so, Helen, a former child star, also became a reliable confidant when either character was stuck in a difficult situation.

On Sunday, Brown noted that it's fun to be a part of a show many fans consider emblematic of their childhoods, saying, "They're babies who just grew up watching our foolishness, which means a lot to me because I grew up watching Cosby Show and A Different World and Facts of Life." She added: "To be on a show that kids watch and enjoy in the same way I watched and enjoyed those shows is just amazing to me. I can't believe it."

Brown did note that Helen, though memorable, might not have been on the show quite as often as fans remember. Drake & Josh premiered on Nickelodeon in 2004 and wrapped in 2007, and Helen was only a recurring character on the series for about three of the four seasons. "I did about half of the run, but people think I was on more than I was because Helen was such an amazing character," the actor said. She also revealed that creator Dan Schneider wrote the character specifically for her, which made her time on the show even more memorable.

Drake & Josh fans have urged the cast to reunite, and last year, Bell and Peck hinted that a reboot might be in the works, as per People. In March of 2019, Bell promised the new project was, "going to be way more creative, way cooler than just you know the college years or something like that," and that any potential new show would "be more adult and really funny."

We might be able to hear "That is not my job!" at least one more time.


There's no word yet on whether or not Brown would join the cast, especially as the star has been busy in recent years, appearing in popular series such as Dear White People, A Black Lady Sketch Show, and Crossing Swords. She's also been a co-host on various talk shows, including The View, The Talk, and The Real. Yet given her fond memories of the show, Brown, who recently reprised her role of Shirley in a Community reunion, might be on board to bring Helen back if a reboot gets off the ground.

Funko Virtual Con 3.0 will take place July 19th - July 25th. The week will be filled with activations, special guests, and more.

Among the SDCC 2020 exclusives unveiled by Funko are vinyl figures inspired by two iconic characters from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Invader ZIM!

For the first reveal, it is surfs up as Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has arrived. This is a very well done SDCC exclusive that features the iconic Party Dude turtle in some pepperoni pizza swim trunks. He is holding a surfboard that says his catchphrase "Cowabunga" and has the San Diego Comic Con logo at the bottom. This radical Funko Pop will be a must have collectible for any TMNT fan and will surely be on many fans' hunting lists. The Mikey figure will be available to purchase on the Funko Shop.


Joining Mikey is another fan favorite character: Invader Zim! Based on his Netflix cartoon event Enter the Florpus, Zim is holding onto Minimoose. This was a character that was never explained in the original series as it was canceled and put out of order. While Enter the Florpus gave us some clues, this Pop will be a must have for any Invader Zim fans. The Invader ZIM figure will be available to buy at Entertainment Earth.


With SDCC canceled and shuffled to a @Home event, this will most likely lead to all SDCC 2020 Pop exclusives going to their FunkoShop. Of course, there will also be retailer exclusives so stay tuned here to find out where these exclusives will be heading.

Watch as Funko Unveils New Pops!, Toys and Games During Comic-Con@Home Panel

New product sneak peeks, celebrity shout outs, special first-time un-boxings, and more went down during Funko's Comic-Con@Home panel.

Comic-Con@Home is coming to a close and Funko decided to go out with a bang. The virtual event has been interesting, to say the least, but the weekend has kept the spirit of the annual event alive, which many did not think was going to be possible. As for Funko, they announced their SDCC exclusive Pop! figures on Friday, with many of them selling out within minutes. With that being said, there are still plenty available at the various shops. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the panel announced a whole lot of new toys that will be available in the near future.


Funko started off their Comic-Con@Home panel by announcing the brand-new McDonald's collection. Officer Mac, Ronald McDonald, Grimace, Mayor McCheese, Hamburglar, and more are going to be heading to stores soon. A new Disney collection was also announced, though horror fans are probably more excited about the upcoming Elvira Pop! A Back to the Future and tabletop game was revealed, along with another game based on the Avengers, which should make some MCU fans very happy. Flash Gordon, G.I. Joe, the Monopoly Man, and Clue were also revealed, along with some new clothing and their signature Soda miniatures, which will feature rock band KISS.

Entertainment Earth's DC Comics Ra's al Ghul and Invader Zim with Minimoose SDCC 2020 Funko Pop exclusives are some of the coolest Pops and they are highly sought after right now.

Leader of the League of Assassins, Ra's al Ghul is stepping out of the shadows of the rogues gallery and into the Funko spotlight, while Invader Zim with Minimoose Pop is shouting, "Victory is yours, puny earth human!" From the Nickelodeon series created by comic book writer and cartoonist Jhonen Vasquez, Zim looks more cute than intimidating holding Minimoose.

The following Comic-Con@Home Pop! figures are available on the official Funko site, though many have already sold out. Ad Icons 100 Jack in the Box (in disguise), Ad Icons 102 Toucan SDCC, Ad Icons 103 Toucan Astronaut SDCC, Anchorman 946 Ron with Baxter, 947 Ron Burgundy with Jazz Flute, 948 Ron Burgundy with Cup, 949 Brian Fantana Scented, 950 Brick Tamland, Harry Potter 120 Harry at World Cup, Heroes 344 Black Lightning, Pokemon 581 Mewtwo Flocked, Scott Pilgrim 944 Wallace Well, TMNT 1019 Michelangelo with Surfboard. Some of these went live on Friday and sold out within minutes.

Funko has partnered with FYE for the following Pop! figures. Masters of the Universe - Moss Man Flocked and Trap Jaw, Nightmare Before Christmas - Tear Away Face Clown, Quaker Oats - Cap'n Crunch - Crunchberry Beast. Plus a Jay & Silent Bob, Reboot 543 Iron Bob. The next group of figures are available at GameStop. Heroes 342 Mr. Freeze (Batman & Robin), Marvel Zombies 665 Zombie The, Thing 10,", Pokemon 580 Vulpix Flocked, Sanrio 39 Hello, Kitty (Robot) Kaiju, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2-Pack - Super Tails & Super Silver, Hot Topic 2020 SDCC Funko Pop Exclusives.

The next set of Funko Pop! figures are available only at Hot Topic. Dragon Ball Super 827 SSG Goku, Marvel 490 Nightcrawler (X-Men), and My Hero Academia 803 Katsuki Bakugo. Heroes 346 Cyborg Superman, Iron Man 656 Stan Lee Cameo, and Toy Tokyo 2020 SDCC Funko Pop are available only through Target, while Walgreens has Masters of the Universe 1017 Blast-Attak, 1018 Clawful, Rocks 182 Steve Aoki, Samurai Jack 836 Scaramouche. And finally, the following Pop! figures can be purchased at Walmart. Back to the Future 965 Marty Checking Watch, Fortnite 602 Rippley, The Office 1015 Dwight Schrute as Recyclops, and Ad Icons #103 Toucan Astronaut Red SDCC.
