Men Dress As Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles At Yankee Stadium For Contest

HBO's John Oliver recently designed a contest looking for "riffraff" to sit among the "rich" New York Yankees fans who occupy the expensive Legends seats. What the British comedian got on Opening Day Tuesday were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - or, at least, two fans dressed up like them!

The two turtles - Michelangelo and Donatello - sat directly behind home plate in clear view on the national broadcast on ESPN and the local one on YES. The turtles - identified as John Welch and Joe Spilo of Yorktown, according to Newsday - won a contest from Oliver's Last Week Tonight in which fans were asked to use the Twitter hashtag #IHaveNeverSatInAPremiumLocation. In the contest, fans tweeted pictures of the "riffraff" attire they would wear in the premium seats.

Two fans will receive tickets for 25 cents for each of the first three games.

The protest prank was in response to the Yankees' recent squabble with StubHub.

During Tuesday's game, Yankees public relations and security denied media access to the Legends seats, so the Turtles could not be asked questions. Newsday spoke to the two outside of the stadium before they entered.

Oliver's Sunday rant was mostly centered around Yankees COO Lonn Trost's comments on WFAN six weeks ago in which Trost said that premium seat holders do not like to sit next to people who "have never sat in a premium location." These seats have been listed for as much $1,595, which is one reason the Yankees did not want to make StubHub fully available to customers, Trost implied.

Trost made his comments after the Yankees were criticized for not allowing people to print out secondary market tickets bought on StubHub. The Yankees claim they did it to prevent fraud, while many of its fans found it a convenient way to buy cheaper last-minute tickets.

"Everyone is welcome at Yankee Stadium," Yankees president Randy Levine told ESPN's Wallace Matthews on Monday. "And I thank John Oliver for buying Yankees tickets."

Oliver's words during his show Sunday night were not as gracious, with the theme that the Yankees "will continue to find ways to look like the biggest elitist a--h---- in all of sports."

You can watch a Turtley Awesome video of John Welch and Joe Spilo as Michelangelo and Donatello here on the official ESPN website. You can also check out John Welch's first-hand account of the day here on Newsday!

Two Pennsylvania Natives Help Bring Nickelodeon's "The Loud House" To Life

Nickelodeon's newest animated comedy The Loud House features not only an Allentown native as on-screen voice talent but also a Coopersburg native as a storyboard artist, working behind the scenes!

Jordan Koch, a 2008 graduate of Southern Lehigh High School, is doing storyboards for The Loud House, premiering Monday, May 2, at 5:00p.m. (ET/PT) on Nick USA. And Lara Jill Miller, an Allentown native who starred as Samantha, opposite Nell Carter in the hit 1980s sitcom Gimme A Break!, is providing the voice of 4-year-old prodigy Lisa Loud for the show.

Koch graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2012 with a degree in media arts with a focus in animation. In 2012, he moved to Los Angeles where he started working as a character designer at a start-up animation studio, and worked as a freelance artist, including for Animation Magazine.

In June 2014, The Loud House creator and executive producer Chris Savino saw Koch's work on Facebook and asked if he would be interested in working on the show. Koch began working as a storyboard revisionist on the show and was soon promoted within 5 months to storyboard artist.

In December, Koch spoke at an assembly at Southern Lehigh Middle School, about how his career took him from Southern Lehigh to working at Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, California.

Savino, who also worked on Nickelodeon's Rocko's Modern Life, Cartoon Network's The Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Test and Dexter's Laboratory as well as Disney's Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil, created an animated short of The Loud House inspired by his childhood growing up as one of 10 siblings in 2014. The short was part of Nickelodeon's annual Animated Shorts Program and The Loud House was the first series to be greenlit out of the global program, which is designed to cultivate a new generation of creative talent.

The 26-episode series centers around 11 year-old Lincoln Loud, and his struggle to survive as the only boy in a house full of 10 sisters. His sisters, who each have unique personalities, are Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn, Lucy, Lola, Lana, Lisa, and Lily.

Miller, who also voices Lambie, the stuffed best friend of the title character in Disney Junior's hit preschool series Doc McStuffins, and the title character in Disney Junior's Henry Hugglemonster, plays the second youngest of the sisters. Other voice actors are Grant Palmer as Lincoln Loud; Caleel Harris as his best friend Clyde McBride; Catherine Taber as Lori; Liliana Mumy as Leni; Nika Futterman as Luna; Cristina Pucelli as Luan; Jessica DiCicco as Lynn and Lucy and Grey Griffin as Lola, Lana and Lily.

In the premiere episode "Left in the Dark," Lincoln wants to watch the finale of his favorite show, but in order to do that, he must beat each sister to the couch first. Then, in "Get the Message," after Lincoln leaves a scathing voicemail on sister Lori's phone, he realizes he has to erase it before she hears it.

Leading up to the shows launch, Nick USA are unveiling first-looks at full-length episodes from the series, which fans can watch on Nick.com, the Nick App, and Nick On Demand.

Viewers can also visit the official The Loud House show page on Nick.com and the Nick App to learn more about the show and its characters, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the series. Beginning Monday, April 25, fans can witness some crazy antics in the new game "Welcome to The Loud House," where users can place Lincoln in different environments with any four of his sisters to manipulate a fun mix of hilarious and unexpected results. Episodes of The Loud House will be available on Nick.com and the Nick App, along with platforms including iTunes, Amazon, Xbox, Google Play, Vudu, Playstation, and Nick On Demand.

Preschool channel Treehouse and kids channel YTV lead all key demos

Cartoon Network, fastest growing specialty network in Canada

TORONTO, CANADA – Off to a strong ratings start in 2016, Corus Kids Networks YTV, Treehouse, TELETOON and Disney Junior have secured the Top 4 spots with kids aged 2 to 11.1 Corus Kids Networks have also emerged as #1 across all kid, tween and teen demos (K2-11, K2-5, K6-11, K9-14, K12-17). (*1)

This past fall, Corus strengthened its position as Canada's leading kids and family destination by redesigning and enhancing the Kids portfolio to offer kids and families distinct brands for each life stage. The content strategy around kids included a new partnership with Disney/ABC Television Group, securing the exclusive rights to its world class brands Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD, and broadening distribution of Cartoon Network to almost 5 million households.

With a slate of hit series, Treehouse and YTV continue to lead key kid demographics. On YTV, SpongeBob SquarePants, Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn and Some Assembly Required have fueled ratings with the kids 6-11 demo. For kids 9-14, Disney Channel is #2 in that demo behind YTV. Anchored by hit series from both Nelvana and Nickelodeon, Treehouse remains the #1 preschool channel in Canada for kids 2-5. Disney Junior has quickly emerged as the #2 channel for kids 2-5, after Corus secured exclusive rights to the content this past January.

Thanks to its broader distribution, Cartoon Network also saw tremendous growth with close to 600% increase for kids 2-11 year-over-year (*2), making the channel the fastest growing specialty network in Canada this year.
