Netflix Releases 'The Loud House Movie' Trailer; 'Welcome to Scotland' Sneak Peek

The Loud's are heading to Scotland in The Loud House Movie, premiering on Netflix globally on Friday, August 20! Check out the trailer and a sneak peek below!


In Nickelodeon’s much-anticipated The Loud House Movie, based on Nickelodeon's hit animated series The Loud House, the biggest family on television goes on the biggest Loud family vacation ever! The adventure follows the Loud family to Scotland where they discover that they are descendants of Scottish royalty. The family quickly indulges in the most wish-fulfilling high-life ever when they discover their ancestral home is a castle.


Director Dave Needham (head of story, Smallfoot) and writers Kevin Sullivan and Chris Viscardi planned this hilarious family trip, which features the voices of Asher Bishop, Michelle Gomez (Morag), David Tennant, Grey Griffin, Jill Talley, Brian Stepanek, Jessica DiCicco, Liliana Mumy, Cristina Pucelli, Nika Futterman, Lara Jill Miller, Andre Robinson, Cat Taber, Katy Townsend, Carlos PenaVega and Izabella Alvarez. Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studios.


Nickelodeon and Netflix first announced plans for The Loud House Movie as well as a animated movie inspired by Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in February 2019, as part of Nickelodeon and ViacomCBS' broader efforts to tap into Nickelodeon's intellectual properties (IP) to continue producing new content for digital and linear platforms. Nickelodeon and Netflix expanded on their pact to form a new, multi-year output deal to produce original animated feature films and television series - based both on the Nickelodeon library of characters as well as all-new IP - for kids and families around the world.

The Loud House debuted on Nickelodeon in May 2016 and centers on 11-year-old Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters as he gives an inside look at what it takes to survive the chaos of a huge family. As one of the longest-running animated series on Nickelodeon, the series currently ranks as the number-one animated show on Nickelodeon with Kids 6-11 year-to-date. The property also has been translated into a comic book series, which continues to roll out new stories, chapter books, a digital album and a podcast, Listen Out Loud. The series is executive produced by Michael Rubiner. Kyle Marshall serves as co-executive producer and Ashley Kliment-Baker is art director. Currently in its fifth season, The Loud House was recently renewed for a sixth season.

YTV Canada to Premiere New 'The Casagrandes' Episode 'Just Be Coo / Tee'd Off' on August 7

YTV in Canada will be premiering the brand new The Casagrandes episode "Just Be Coo / Tee'd Off" on Saturday, August 7 at 11:00 a.m. ET/PT.


In "Just Be Coo," when Sancho gets himself into trouble in the city, Sergio helps him become a model pet. Then later in "Tee'd Off," worried that Lori may have a new crush, Bobby visits her in college and tries to impress her with his golf skills. (#215).

A U.S. airdate for the new episode has yet to be announced.

How ‘iCarly’ Showrunner Ali Schouten’s Zoom Open-Mic Night Inspired the Paramount Plus Revival

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, artists like iCarly showrunner Ali Schouten transitioned their creativity online to connect with other artists. For Schouten, her Zoom open mic, lovingly dubbed “Chikchella,” reminded her of the joyous, collaborative spirit of iCarly, inspiring her to pitch the reboot.

“People were really connecting with each other as artists online, and it was such a high point of the week when we were all isolated in quarantine,” Schouten told TheWrap. “We needed this type of show now more than ever.”

iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove, who leads the Paramount+ revival, was enthusiastic about Schouten’s idea, agreeing that the show could make a difference in viewers’ lives.

The Zoom group, created by Schouten’s friend, Autumn Chiklis (The Shield), started the weekend that Coachella was canceled and brought together Schouten and her boyfriend as they quarantined separately. Schouten would write creative essays while her boyfriend performed songs, enabling the couple to have their romance unfold virtually.

Calling Carly the “OG Influencer,” Schouten noted how iCarly spawned a generation of content creators who now, with the help of TikTok and YouTube, don’t have to rely on sending in videos to iCarly to be featured online. While the revival would shift in providing a platform for viewers, for Schouten, “it’s always been about the spirit of inclusivity” — a pillar that she prioritized within the series and off-screen.

The revival introduces a new character, Harper, who plays Carly’s bold and hilarious roommate and aspiring fashion designer. Harper, played by Laci Mosley, is openly queer on the show, breaking Mosley’s expectation that a Black, queer character would ever be represented in the show.

“What would be the truth for our audience?” Schouten asked when deciding to craft Harper’s character. “Our audience is pretty young, diverse… and has a range of sexualities and gender identities.”

Schouten also extended this inclusivity on set by enabling everybody in the writers room — including all the assistants — to write an episode and produce their episode on set. As the youngest female showrunner at the streaming network, Schouten wanted to pay her experience forward by including crew members in the creative process, from production to editing.

“It’s so exciting getting to watch people come up and show their creativity and their voice,” Schouten said, “I just really believe that makes a better show.”

Nickelodeon’s iCarly series, which originally ran from 2007-12, followed a group of best friends creating a webcast while grappling with everyday problems and adventures. The 13-episode revival picks up a decade after the original show ended, and stars returning cast members Miranda Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress, as well as newcomers Mosley and Jaidyn Triplett. Since launching in June, the series has become one of Paramount+'s most popular series to date. A second season was ordered in July.

The series is now streaming on Paramount+, with new episodes dropping every Thursday.

Mexico's Synchronized Swimmers Paid Tribute to ATLA With Their Embellished Olympic Leotards

Olympic gymnasts aren't the only ones with a dazzling sense of style. On Aug. 2, day 10 of the Olympic Games, Mexican synchronized swimming duo Nuria Diosdado and Joana Jiménez García pulled out all the stops with their embellished leotards, which included a subtle but heartfelt nod to Nickelodeon's beloved animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender.

The black and white sheer outfits, designed by Mexican brand Gilling Activewear, each featured the koi fish Tui and La, known respectively as the moon spirit and fish spirit in the Nickelodeon show. In the season one finale of the cartoon, it's revealed that Tui and La, like the ancient Chinese philosophy of yin and yang, maintain balance on earth with their "eternal dance of push and pull." Just like the koi fish, the duo demonstrated an elegant harmony with their mesmerising underwater routine, making their outfits fun and fitting for the competition.

The back of Diosdado and JimĂ©nez GarcĂ­a's outfits show the four elements — water, earth, fire, and air — stylized as they are in the TV show and covered in rhinestones. Short of actually making water float around the room, fans are convinced this may be proof that they're both secretly waterbenders. So, yeah, I think Aang and the "gaang" would be highly impressed. EJ Obiena Takes SpongeBob and Patrick to New Heights at the Tokyo Olympics

EJ Obiena recently had the honor of making it to the Tokyo Olympics 2020 Men’s Pole Vault finals, however, there's another reason Filipino pole vaulter has been turning heads during the Olympic games - he competed wearing an odd pair of SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star socks!

Competing at the pinnacle of any sports competition comes with a baggage of pressure, so EJ wore a mismatched pair of socks on August 3 to give him comfort. “I take myself a little bit too seriously because this is a competition, this is something that seems like something very serious,” said Obiena in the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association press conference, a day after the competition.

“At the end of the day, it’s a sport, it’s a game. I should enjoy it, I should not take it too seriously, that’s why I put on those socks as a reminder to not think about it too much. Enjoy, have fun,” Obiena added.

Given a chance, he would have wanted to wear socks inspired by anime My Hero Academia or Naruto, but regulations didn’t allow him to buy one.

Despite this, the two beloved Nickelodeon characters were well welcomed by Filipino viewers.

“It’s the socks that sold it for me tho,” a Twitter user said with a Philippine flag emoji.

“Great run EJ! Now, can I have your socks,” another Twitter user wrote.

“SpongeBob socks ratioed the whole Olympics,” tweeted another fan.

“Let’s take a moment to appreciate EJ Obiena’s socks. Deserved their own gold medal tbh #Olympics,” an online user said in a post.

Even House Rep. Sarah Elago (Kabataan party-list) noticed the funky socks worn by the Olympian and cheered, “Go, go, go EJ Obiena! Ang cute ng socks po.”

Another social media user congratulated Obiena for his performance and noticed that Obiena’s socks may have been a reference in an episode of SpongeBob SquarePants, where SpongeBob and Patrick compete in the Deep Fry Pole Vault in the Fry Cook Games.


If you’re also looking for the same pair of socks worn by the pole vaulter, Lifestyle brand H&M Philippines confirmed that it is from its collection in collaboration with SpongeBob.

SpongeBob and Patrick aren't the only Nick characters honored at the Tokyo Olympics - Dutch athlete Kiran Badloe sported a haircut inspired by Avatar Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender!

Obiena unfortunately failed to bring home a medal after falling short to hurdle the 5.80 meters.

Big Time Rush Wants to Know Where They Should Perform Live Next

On Monday, July 19, Big Time Rush announced that they were reuniting for two reunion concerts in the U.S. in December! Whilst the news excited many Rushers, many fans were left wondering whether BTR would eventually tour more cities and countries so that they could get to see the boys back on stage.


Although further concerts have yet to be announced, the official Big Time Rush Twitter account wants to know where the band should go next!

Fans can recommend where they want BTR to perform live next by tweeting a message featuring two important hashtags: #RushersWorldWide + #BTR(YourCity).

For example, if you want BTR to play in Los Angeles, your tweet should look something like "Come to Los Angeles next! #RushersWorldWide #BTRLosAngeles". For London, it should be "Come to London next! #RushersWorldWide #BTRLondon".
