First Look: Carly & Freddie Share Awkward Kiss in ‘iCarly’ Season 2 Premiere

iCarly is back for Season 2. The reboot of the beloved Nickelodeon series returns with two new episodes Friday, April 8 on Paramount+. And in a brand new sneak peek, courtesy of TV Insider, fans get a glimpse of Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) and Freddie (Nathan Kress) pretending to be a couple!

In Season 2 Episode 1, “iGuess Everyone Just Hates Me Now,” the internet turns against Carly after she dumps both Wes (Josh Plasse) and Beau (Conor Husting). To win her audience back, Carly devises faking a relationship with Freddie. Meanwhile, Spencer (Jerry Trainor) gets overzealous while planning a launch party for Freddie’s new therapy dog app, and Harper (Laci Mosley) tries to get Double Dutch’s dog to like her.

In the video, Carly and Freddie appear to be a couple when they’re caught by three adoring fans (and Freddie’s mom), but their chemistry does not seem as believable as Carly hopes. See them share the world’s most awkward kiss in the “Creddie Forevvie” clip below.

The new season, which comprises of 10 episodes, will see Carly refocus her attention on her friends and family following her dating troubles, all while working to boost her revived web channel. Spencer and Harper will try to navigate new personal and career developments, while Freddie balances raising Millicent (Jaidyn Triplett) with a new app and a new girlfriend.

Episode 2, “iObject, Lewbert!,” also drops April 8. In it, Carly will defend herself in court with Spencer and Freddie’s help after Lewbert (Jeremy Rowley) returns seeking damages from countless injuries sustained on her original web show. Millicent will try to make Harper her new bestie.

The new episodes will also feature a Drake & Josh reunion between Cosgrove and Josh Peck. Peck guest stars as Carly’s “aggressive” manager, Paul, who will butt heads with Freddie, forcing Carly to figure out how to find a solution that keeps both of the guys working on her web series.

The series is produced by Nickelodeon Studios and executive produced by Ali Schouten (Champions), Jonathan Fener (American Housewife) and Cosgrove. Schouten and Fener also serve as showrunners. Trainor, Kress, and Alissa Vradenburg (The Simple Life) serve as producers.

Outright Games to Release 'Star Trek: Prodigy - Supernova' Video Game

Nickelodeon is set to release a brand new video game based on the network's hit CG-animated series, Star Trek: Prodigy!

Titled Star Trek: Prodigy - Supernova, the game will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, XboX, and Nintendo Switch in the coming months. The game is produced by Tessera Studios, and will be published by Outright Games. The game is being edited and co-written by Prodigy staff writer Lisa Schultz Boyd.

The news was leaked on Tuesday, April 7, when a banner went up early at the Star Trek: Mission Chicago convention. More information about the game will be unveiled in May 2022 via Outright Games' YouTube channel. The news was first reported by TrekCore.com on Twitter.

Tessera Studios is a developer founded in 2017 and based in Madrid, Spain. Intruders: Hide and Seek is the sole project released by the development studio so far, a VR-compatible stealth-based game for PlayStation and PC launched back in 2019. Nickelodeon has a long-term partnership with Outright Games, having previously released titles based on PAW Patrol and Blaze and the Monster Machines.

Produced by the Nickelodeon Animation Studio and CBS Studios’ Eye Animation Production, STAR TREK: PRODIGY made its debut in October 2021 is already a hit amongst Paramount+ subscribers, and had the top-performing premiere day out of any original animated kids series on the service. Currently in its first season, Star Trek: Prodigy will return with new episodes later this year on Paramount+. The series was recently renewed for a second season, which is slated to premiere in 2023.

The US-English STAR TREK: PRODIGY voice cast includes Kate Mulgrew (Hologram Kathryn Janeway), Brett Gray (Dal), Ella Purnell (Gwyn), Rylee Alazraqui (Rok-Tahk), Angus Imrie (Zero), Jason Mantzoukas (Jankom Pog), Dee Bradley Baker (Murf), John Noble (The Diviner) and Jimmi Simpson (Drednok).

Developed by Emmy® Award winners Kevin and Dan Hageman (“Trollhunters” and “Ninjago”), the CG-animated series STAR TREK: PRODIGY is the first “Star Trek” series aimed at younger audiences, and follows a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search of a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered – a first in the history of the “Star Trek” franchise – but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.

STAR TREK: PRODIGY is from CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios’ new animation arm; Nickelodeon Animation Studio, led by President of Animation Ramsey Naito; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Katie Krentz, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers, alongside co-showrunners Kevin and Dan Hageman and Ben Hibon, who also directs and serves as executive producer and the creative lead of the animated series.

STAR TREK: PRODIGY currently streams exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Australia, Latin America and the Nordics, and will also be coming soon to Nickelodeon international channels, which are available in 180 countries globally. In Canada, it airs on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel and streams on Crave. STAR TREK: PRODIGY is distributed by ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group.
