Nickelodeon and PROSPECT 100 Launch TMNT Design Competition

Nickelodeon and ViacomCBS Consumer Products are teaming up with UK event company PROSPECT 100 to launch the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Global Design Competition!


The contest is open to young creators ages 16 to 25, and in addition to a US$7,000 cash prize, the winner’s original artwork will be featured on an official range of TMNT merchandise that’s set to launch globally on Amazon in August.

The competition is focused on transformation—a central theme of the iconic Ninja Turtles brand—and participants are asked to submit art that is true to their own personality and that represents the property in a unique style. It’s free to enter online, and the deadline is July 8. Fans can apply at https://www.prospect100.com/competitions/global-design-competition-2.

Submissions of original TMNT artworks will be evaluated on originality and “authenticity to the designer” by a judging panel that includes TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman as well as club owner and street artist AndrĂ© Saraiva, designer Colm Dillane of KidSuper, artists Caitlyn Grabenstein and Larisa Murariu, and Danny Casale, Harry Hambley, Lil Jupiter, Loryn Brantz, Matt Gondek, and Morysetta.

“Competitions and initiatives like these are what fueled my online presence back when I first began posting, so I can say first-hand that their importance to the online design community should not be understated,” said judge Harry Hembley, the teenage cartoonist behind Ketnipz.

The contest is the brainchild of Alexandre Daillance, cofounder of Paris-based fashion label Nasaseasons, and his own creative studio. Daillance established Prospect 100, which he’s calling an “empowerment youth company,” last year with an inaugural sneaker design competition.

Created in 1984 by Eastman and Peter Laird, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have spawned comic books, cartoons, television series, feature films, video games and toys.

This partnership with PROSPECT 100 comes as Nickelodeon continues to evolve the TMNT brand. Last year, it inked an agreement with Canadian indie production company Point Grey Pictures to co-produce a new CG-animated movie based on the property, set to be released in 2023. And Nick has also collaborated with Netflix on a film project inspired by the 2D-animated series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Berlin, 18 May, 2021: SUPER RTL and ViacomCBS Consumer Products announce the expansion of their licensing agreement to include Nickelodeon’s iconic kids’ properties SpongeBob SquarePantsBlaze and the Monster Machines and The Loud House in the GSA region.

Built on a long term partnership that spans licensing and content, this newly expanded agreement sees SUPER RTL add globally loved properties SpongeBob SquarePantsBlaze and the Monster Machines and The Loud House to the portfolio of properties it licenses on behalf of ViacomCBS Consumer Products, which currently includes kids’ favorite PAW Patrol.


"The cooperation between SUPER RTL, Nickelodeon and ViacomCBS Consumer Products has already made 'PAW Patrol' the most successful preschool property in our market. This expansion is once again creating new opportunities for the entire market. Nickelodeon will remain the home station for SpongeBob and Patrick's adventures in Bikini Bottom and exclusive free-TV premieres of all three formats will continue to be broadcast on Nickelodeon in the region.

Germany - SUPER RTL has announced that they are expanding on their successful partnership with Nickelodeon by acquiring the rights to three hit Nickelodeon shows: SpongeBob SquarePants, The Loud House and Blaze and the Monster Machines.

SpongeBob is no stranger to SUPER RTL, with the German free-to-air (FTA) network airing the series between 2002 and 2009 - and exclusively on the network between 2002-2005, until Nickelodeon Germany relaunched. Following an absence of 12 years, SUPER RTL has acquired 52 episodes of Nickelodeon's iconic animated series, and will start to air them weekdays at 2:05pm from Monday 31st May 2021.

Start dates for The Loud House and Blaze and the Monster Machines will be announced in the coming weeks. All three series will join Nickelodeon's beloved CG-animated series PAW Patrol on the network. Under the deal, Nickelodeon will remain the exclusive home of free-TV premieres of the three series in the country.

Additionally, SUPER RTL Licensing will also act as the new licensing agency for SpongeBob SquarePants and Blaze and the Monster Machines in the DACH (Deutschland, Austria & Switzerland) region.

"The popular animated series with cult status are a valuable addition to our content and licensing portfolio. Bei einem Sender mit vierfacher Reichweite erhofft man sich bei ViacomCBS auch mehr Effekte für das im Kinder-Segment lukrative Lizenz- bzw. Merchandise-Geschäft: Neben der Ausstrahlung der Serien übernimmt Super RTL Licensing als neue Lizenz-Agentur auch die Vermarktung von "SpongeBob Schwammkopf" und "Blaze und die Monster-Maschinen" in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz. Ein Modell, das Super RTL und ViacomCBS bereits bei "Paw Patrol" umgesetzt haben.

Dauerbrenner kĂĽnftig auf beiden Sendern zu sehen

„SpongeBob Schwammkopf“ zählt zu den Dauerbrennern im deutschen Fernsehen, der pro Tag auf mehreren Kanälen sein Unwesen treibt. Und demnächst kommt noch ein weiterer Sender dazu: Dank einer intensivierten Zusammenarbeit kommt die Nickelodeon-Serie demnächst auch zurĂĽck zu Super RTL – dort, wo der Bewohner aus Bikini Bottom vor 19 Jahren in Deutschland seine TV-Premiere hatte.

Schon ab dem 31. Mai wird „SpongeBob Schwammkopf“ montags bis freitags um 14:05 Uhr wieder bei Super RTL zu sehen sein. DarĂĽber hinaus gesellen sich auch noch zwei weitere Nickelodeon-Animationsserien, „Willkommen bei den Louds“ und „Blaze und die Monster-Maschinen“, ins Portfolio. Die eigentlichen Konkurrenzsender Super RTL und Nickelodeon bauen somit ihre Zusammenarbeit weiter aus. Schon seit einiger Zeit ist „Paw Patrol“ aus dem Hause Nickelodeon, eine der aktuell beliebtesten Vorschulserien, parallel auf beiden Sendern zu sehen.

„SpongeBob“ kehrt somit dorthin zurĂĽck, wo er in Deutschland seine Anfänge hatte. Denn von 2002 bis 2005 war Super RTL die exklusive Heimat der Nickelodeon-Produktion. Dies hängt damit zusammen, dass während dieser Zeit der Kanal Nickelodeon nicht mehr bzw. noch nicht wieder in Deutschland existierte. Erst im September 2005 wurde die Marke hierzulande reaktiviert und der Sender zum zweiten Mal nach einer Existenz zwischen 1995 und 1998 gestartet.

Von 2005 bis 2009 war „SpongeBob“ dann parallel auf Nickelodeon und Super RTL zu sehen, bevor die Serie in Deutschland exklusiv zu Nickelodeon wechselte. Inzwischen läuft sie jedoch auch auf den ViacomCBS-Schwestersendern Comedy Central und MTV rauf und runter. Dadurch wurde „SpongeBob“ zur mit Abstand am meisten gezeigten Sendung des vergangenen Jahres. Satte 6179 Mal war die Serie 2020 zu sehen (fernsehserien.de berichtete).

Mit der nun bevorstehenden zusätzlichen Ausstrahlung bei Super RTL dĂĽrfte dies noch getoppt werden. Dabei gilt zu beachten: Super RTL wird insgesamt 51 Episoden aus den späteren Staffeln der insgesamt mehr als 260 Folgen umfassenden Serie zeigen. Free-TV-Premieren werden weiterhin bei Nickelodeon stattfinden – dies gilt auch fĂĽr „Willkommen bei den Louds“ und „Blaze und die Monster-Maschinen“. Super RTL Licensing wird zudem neue Lizenzagentur der drei Serien in der DACH-Region und ĂĽbernimmt fortan die Vermarktung.

Nickelodeon Premieres 'Hunter Street' Season 4 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on Monday 17th May 2021

A brand-new mystery is in store for the Hunter family in the all-new fourth season of Hunter Street, premiering Monday 17th May 2021 on Nickelodeon channels in Germany (Deutschland), Switzerland (Schweiz) and Austria (Ă–sterreich)!


Fun, laughs and action await viewers this upcoming season, which will follow the Hunter kids undercover to find and unite both new and ancient technology, discover that they are not the only kid members of ‘The Relatives’ as they had previously thought, and take on powerful enemies with grudges against the Hunters that threaten to tear the family apart. Hunter Street season four will air on Nickelodeon’s international channels in 170+ countries and territories.

Locally titled Das Geheimnis der Hunters, season of Hunter Street will air weekday evenings at 18:35 Uhr on Nickelodeon Schweiz and Nick Ă–sterreich, and at 19:10 Uhr on Nickelodeon Deutschland.

Hunter Street is produced for an international audience by Blooming Media. The series was originally co-developed with the Nickelodeon Netherlands series, De Ludwigs.

iStart Over: Carly Shay navigates the next chapter of her life, moving past a failed relationship and reinventing her web show. Meanwhile, Spencer can't accept the fact that Harper doesn't like his latest sculpture.

iHate Carly: Carly finds it refreshing to date a guy who's never seen her show, until she discovers his huge secret. Meanwhile, when Spencer accidentally blinds himself with pepper spray, he enlists Freddie to be his "guide dog."

iFauxpologize: A disgusted reaction from Carly is paired with Spencer's latest artwork to become a popular meme, giving Carly new viral fame but leaving Spencer feeling insulted and out for revenge. Millicent finds Freddie's troubling old social media posts, which gives her a brilliant idea. Air Date: Jun 16, 2021

Laci Mosley (Florida Girls, the Scam Goddess podcast) is playing Harper, Carly’s roommate and best friend. Jaidyn Triplett (See, The Affair) has been cast as Millicent, Freddie’s snarky and social media-savvy stepdaughter. Jennette McCurdy, who played Carly’s best friend, Sam, and Noah Munck, who played the eccentric Gibby Gibson on the original series are not returning for the Paramount+ update.

The original iCarly series, which ran from 2007 to 2012, followed a group of best friends creating a webcast while grappling with everyday problems and adventures. The 13-episode picks up a decade after the original show ended.

The pilot is written by Ali Schouten (Diary of a Future President), who also serves as executive producer, and Jay Kogen (Nickelodeon’s School of Rock, The Simpsons).

Nickelodeon Studios and Awesomeness produce the series, with Cosgrove executive producing and Trainor and Alissa Vradenburg as producers. Phill Lewis (The Suite Life of Zack & CodyOne Day at a Time, The Neighborhood) directed and executive produced the pilot. Shauna Phelan, senior vice president, live-action scripted content, and Zack Olin, senior vice president, live-action, oversee production.

Paramount Plus to Debut New 'iCarly' Series on June 17, 2021

Wake up the members of my nation! Paramount+ will premiere the streaming platform's iCarly revival series on Thursday, June 17! Miranda Cosgrove, who is reprising her fan-favorite role of Carly Shay for the new series, shared the news on her Instagram page after she discovered the release date hidden in her birthday cake celebrating her 28th birthday. The actor also shared a photo of the cast of the iCarly reboot!

Originally announced in December, the 13-episode season picks up nearly 10 years after the original show ended, and finds Carly Shay, the original influencer, and her friends navigating work, love and their family in their twenties. Production on the new iCarly series commenced earlier this year in Los Angeles.

The new iCarly series will feature two new cast members: Laci Mosley (Florida Girls) as Harper, Carly’s roommate and best friend; and Jaidyn Triplett (The Affair, See) as Millicent, Freddie’s snarky and social media-savvy stepdaughter. Mosley and Triplett will appear alongside returning original series stars, Miranda Cosgrove (Carly), Jerry Trainor (Spencer) and Nathan Kress (Freddie).

Nickelodeon’s original iCarly series, which ran from 2007-2012, followed a group of best friends as they created a webcast for and about kids their age while grappling with everyday problems and adventures. During its initial run, iCarly became a pop-culture staple and regularly broke viewership records among audiences of all ages. The original iCarly series was created by Dan Schneider.

The new iCarly series is produced by Nickelodeon Studios and Awesomeness (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, Trinkets, PEN15). The pilot is written by Ali Schouten (Diary of a Future President, Champions, Merry Happy Whatever), who also serves as executive producer, and Jay Kogen (Nickelodeon’s School of Rock, The Simpsons, Frasier). Miranda Cosgrove also serves as executive producer, with Jerry Trainor and Alissa Vradenburg serving as producers. The pilot is directed and executive produced by Phill Lewis (One Day at a Time, The Neighborhood), who famously portrayed Mr. Moseby on Disney Channel’s The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

"I watched iCarly growing up and never imagined I’d get a chance to be in the show! We’ve started production and everyone is SO wonderful and kind!! I love doing this work so much already," Laci wrote on her Instagram. "So wake up members of my nation eowwww!"

Teasing the new series in January, Cosgrove shared her hopes for the project. "iCarly was a huge part of my childhood and I have so many memories from my time making the show. I feel like I grew up alongside the viewers," Cosgrove told J-14

"My biggest hope for the revival is that it brings the people who watched the original series a lot of joy," she continued. "The new show is mainly being made with all the original fans in mind. Although we hope families will enjoy it together, this version of the show will be more mature and follow our lives now."

Though a star on the original series, McCurdy, 28, revealed in a February episode of her Empty Inside podcast that she has left her acting days behind her.

"I quit a few years ago because I initially didn't want to do it," she said. "My mom put me in it when I was 6 and by sort of age, I guess, 10 or 11, I was the main financial support for my family. My family didn't have a lot of money, and this was the way out, which I actually think was helpful in driving me to some degree of success."

She continued, "I'm so ashamed of the parts I've done in the past. I resent my career in a lot of ways. I feel so unfulfilled by the roles that I played and felt like it was the most cheesy, embarrassing. I did the shows that I was on from like, 13 to 21, and by 15, I was already embarrassed."

At the Kids' Choice Awards in March, ET spoke with Cosgrove, Kress and Trainor, where they updated fans on what their characters have been up to since the original run ended.

"The three of us got back together and it was kind of like riding a bike. It was like, 'We're back!'" Trainor said, with Cosgrove adding, "It feels kind of crazy. We did the first table read about a week or so ago and it was kind of insane. Like, just getting everybody back together again and it was really fun."

When fans last saw Carly and Freddie, the two shared a goodbye kiss in the series finale. But what's their relationship status in the revival?

"TBD! I don't know," Kress teased. "I have no idea, and even if I did know, I wouldn't tell you. We gotta keep things spicy for the folks at home. Right, Miranda?"

"Yeah, let's keep things spicy," Cosgrove replied, with Trainor adding, "Too juicy to say! I feel like there are a lot of secrets."

"I'll say the scripts are really funny, but I don't think anyone is expecting what we're doing," he continued. "I don't think a revival has been done quite this way."
